Flozell Adams at right tackle?
I wouldn't be against it. And no I don't care about him being an ex-Cowboy. If he can be a short term solution at RT I say go for it.

Re: Flozell Adams at right tackle?
whatever helps...i guess. Think im gonna be sick.
|
Re: Flozell Adams at right tackle?
I'm of the same opinion. Whatever helps, but I want him gone ASAP.
|
Re: Flozell Adams at right tackle?
Kind of like when Deion was here, I just really don't like him as a person.
|
Re: Flozell Adams at right tackle?
we need someone at RT, i dont care who he has played for, as long as he is good for us.
|
Re: Flozell Adams at right tackle?
ugh, cant we find something better???? Levi Jones is comparable.......and not so jumpy
|
Re: Flozell Adams at right tackle?
Even disregarding his ex-Cowboyness, they let him go without any real backup, he was notorious for penalties, and just bad play. I would rather not bring him here, even as a stopgap.

Redskins talking to Flozell Adams « DC Pro Sports Report
"He simply can’t handle the speedy edge rushers you get when playing left tackle. I can see Adams as a one-or-two-year bridge at right tackle. Pair him with Russell Okung at left tackle and the Redskins offensive line in 2010 might be semi-respectable. Until the first injury, of course…" |
Re: Flozell Adams at right tackle?
I'd love to bring in Adams as a bridge RT.
|
Re: Flozell Adams at right tackle?
Absolutely not and it has NOTHING to do with him being a Cowboy. He gets beat way too much and is one of the dirtier players in the league...hence why he has to trip, kick and leg whip DEs illegally.
We'd be better off with Levi Jones and maybe even Stephen Heyer if he steps up even slightly. If we bring in Flozell, we might as well get Richie Incognito too. |
Re: Flozell Adams at right tackle?
I don't remember him getting beat that often at all. Penalties and dirty play? Sure.
|
Re: Flozell Adams at right tackle?
WOW. I'm having a hard time with some of these "improvements". Are we going to sign ALL the players I laughed at last year?

Hope you laughed at some good ones 53:cool-smil |
Re: Flozell Adams at right tackle?
I would REALLY have a hard time with Flozell. I just REALLY hate getting pricks on our team. I don't care he was an ex-Cowboy, just a bad person.
|
Re: Flozell Adams at right tackle?
And if you think that signing Adams is bad because he's an ex Cowboy, how about if TO also signs? Then what? Will people stop being fans? Whatever takes to win and plug holes.

I would take TO because he danced on the star, and ticked off Philly fans. |
Flozell Adams 3-for-3 on Fines -- NFL FanHouse If there's anything in sports that would qualify as the opposite of Joe Dimaggio's epic 56-game baseball hit streak, it may be what Flozell Adams has cooking for the Cowboys so far in 2009. Three games into the NFL season, Adams has been fined three times. The third wallet hit, a $7,500 blow, came down Wednesday, as Adams was punished for kicking at Carolina's Julius Peppers on Monday night (video here courtesy of Digital Sports Daily). Adams was fined $5,000 for an unnecessary roughness penalty in Dallas' Week 1 win at Tampa Bay, and $12,500 for two incidents in a Week 2 loss to the Giants -- one of which was a trip on Justin Tuck that ended with Tuck injuring his shoulder.

Cowboys' Adams Fined For Leg Whip Of Tuck - chicagotribune.com Cowboys left tackle Flozell Adams has been fined $12,500 for kicking two New York Giants on Sunday, making it two straight games he's been fined. Adams was punished not only for the second-quarter play that left Justin Tuck with a shoulder injury, but also for doing it to Osi Umenyiora in the fourth quarter. Adams was flagged for kicking Tuck, but not for the swipe at Umenyiora. After the game, Tuck called it a "bush league play," and Adams shot back Monday, saying he didn't know Tuck was hurt, adding, "From a supposed kick? Tell him to stay up. It ain't my fault." On Wednesday, Tuck got his turn to respond. "Normally, people go to the Pro Bowl for blocking people, not tripping people. So maybe he should keep his feet on the ground," Tuck said. "We're not going to get into a war of words here, we are going to let it be what it is, and I'll see Flozell when we play them again." The rematch is Dec. 6 at Giants Stadium. Adams also was fined $5,000 for an unnecessary roughness penalty against Tampa Bay in the opener, which Adams said he wants to appeal. You KNOW he'd leave for the Giants after us though...to complete his rounds of the NFC East. |
I don't remember him getting beat that often at all. Penalties and dirty play? Sure.
He didn't get beat all that often BECAUSE of the penalties and dirty play. I don't mind us signing a former cowboys as much as I mind us signing him because of the type of player he is. However, if we can get production out of him at RT and he is the most viable option we have, those feeling should be put aside for a season or two for the betterment of the team. |

Would you rather have Levi Jones, Heyer or Adams? I vote for Adams as much as I dislike him. |
Re: Flozell Adams at right tackle?
NO! I am a purist I guess, but I hate players going to rival teams, especially those that have really made a long career in one place like Flozell has.
If we do sign him, I surely hope that someone can beat him out for the RT job. Heyer or some obscure 5th round pick, anybody but flozell! |

Jones did not do a bad job last season. I'd take him. |

That's the real question isn't it? There seems to be a lot of assumption that these players who are being traded or let go will give us better production. I'm not so sure. This is going to be an interesting first year for our new regime. Hopefully we'll be sitting here at the end of the season talking about how smart they are. Hopefully. ;) |

I agree with rather having Jones at RT. |

Oh yeah, lets reunite T.O. and McNabb. That would go over like a fart in a spacesuit. |
Re: Flozell Adams at right tackle?
I just can't believe that he would be an upgrade over someone else drafted or picked up via trade......or even Levi. If it would be a definite upgrade, ok, id be cool with it. But all it seems we'd be bringing in is a dirtbag piece of shit person who doesn't even know how to play clean. I am totally against this. If Shanny doesnt like A.H's attitude, u think Flozell Adams would be any better? While we are at it, lets bring in PacMan Jones and Charles Rogers, along with Cory McIntyre, a literal jerk off...........

I'd rather have a capable prick at RT (Adams) than an incompetent nice guy (Heyer). |

Sign him and Levi. |
Re: Flozell Adams at right tackle?
If we do bring him in we can count on three to four false starts. Flozell is deaf and he's gotten nasty because he's lost his edge. I can see him at RT for a year at the most.

That's all we would need him for, 1 year. Next year you draft a RT. |

Quite the contrary, go ahead and sign T.O. I mean, hell he and McNabb obviously get along together SOOOO WELLLL. |

You know what I hate? 4 win seasons and finishing dead last in the division almost every year. |

He's old Malcolm, that counts for something. |
Re: Flozell Adams at right tackle?
If he plays RT then I'm Ok with him coming in here to compete. Heyer at RT is pure garbage. He's just not strong enough in his lower body to play at this level. So tired of watching Heyer get bull rushed. But Adams is done. He's a holding/false start machine so I'm not sure what Allen and co are thinking here.
|

Then I'm all about it. |
Re: Flozell Adams at right tackle?
So possibly that could give us:
LT - Okung, or another draft pick LG - Dockery C - Rabach RG - Hicks RT - Adams Reserve - Lichtenstein (or however you spell it) Big Mike, ? Sounds like a more passable line than last year to say the least. No one expected us to have the #1 line this year anyway. At least it would be a modest improvement as a start to building something better. |
