Is he or is he not a HoF? The guy is a monster and I'm sure having Manning helps.

I'd take him over TO and Moss.

I think he's a definite HoF. It's sort of a shame that he flys under the radar a bit because he's not an attention grabber the way TO and Moss are

That's why I like him, he just plays football. He doesn't do any of the other attention grabbing crap. His stats speak for him. It's really hard to say if he would be as good as he is without Manning and vice versa.

Marvin is without a doubt the best route runner in the game. The guy just has no tendencies for cornerbacks to read off of. For example, some guys might wiggle their left foot when they are going to cut left on a route, but Harrison, being a great student of the game spends a lot of time studying himself to avoid any tendencies and also studying opposing corners to learn their tendencies.

Definite HoF!

I'd take Moss in 1/2 a second over him. Harrison is good, but thus far has less yards than Wayne and only one more TD. He's good, but I'd take Moss in no time.

Yes, he is a HOFer and better than any Redskins WR in it's history (just a tad better than Monk Man)

His game is very similar to Monk's. He's an excellent route runner with superior hands. He should make the Hall someday, but since he isn't "the best" of his generation, he may be consigned to "Monk purgatory" for a while first.

Harrison will be a first ballot lock

He is HOF all the way. It is a tough decision on him or Moss though. Moss clearly has more measurable talent. Moss also clearly defines defensive game plans. He is faster, taller, more agile and probably has better hands. Harrison is a much beter route runner and depends less on pure skill and more on hard work and preparation. Harrison would be more in the mold of Rice and Moss more in the mold of say Tim Brown. At the end of the day if I needed one guy to make a catch or a play I go with Moss. If i need a guy to be consistent throughout a season and be a leader I go with Harrison. If I have to choose just one in general I think it's Moss by nose based on the fact that if you can get him motivated he'd be a complete game changer on every play. I would be happy to have to make the decision either way.

When Moss is on he's arguably the most dangerous player in the game regardless of position.

Harrison is great because he's so consistent and dependable. He really has a special connection with Manning.

At this point in time, I give Moss the edge as the better player. However, Marvin is on a team with 2 other very solid recievers and Marvin's past perfermance has opened doors for Stokely and Wayne. Opponents were so focused on Marvin all year and a great QB like Manning is finding the other two receivers, not to mention TEs. Not one word out of Harrison's mouth about not getting the ball more often. His stats are still no slouch by any means. Just a great team player and you can just see the chemisty between him and Manning. Their work ethic is outstanding and Peyton can throw any pass to Marvin almost without any communication.

I'd trade Ramsey and Brunell to get Manning, if only it were possible. Manning's passing would make LC and Jacobs look like Marvin Harrisons. That footage they showed in slo-mo in yesterday's game was unbelievable - where Manning throws the ball over the middle with Harrison not even facing the ball, and Harrison knows where the ball is going to be.

They wouldn't take our 3 QBs and WRs for Manning.

I don't want Manning. The Colts will be absolutely horrible in the near future. Hello cap hell. 96M to one player? Stupid.

well we're paying brunell about half that aren't we (probably not after bonuses and stuff)? but i think manning is 100x better than brunell and not just the 2x more that they're paying him... nfl these days u got 3, 4 seasons

I've heard, and maybe El Loco Canuck can corroborate this, that Manning's new deal actually counts less against the cap on a yearly basis than his old deal

I'm not sure what Manning's old deal was but I calculate these are the cap hits of the new deal (000s):

Total = 7 yrs/$98M

I think Peyton is the best player in the NFL, but is he worth those cap hits? I'm not sure.

I think it's safe to say the Colts are cheering HARD for a LARGE increase in the cap in the coming years.

They'll obviously have to keep restructuring his deal.

What else are they supposed to do? He's one of the best in the game, they can't let him go.

He's a stud. I would take him over both BO and Moss, only cause of his unselfish attitude.

Manning, James and Harrison have been counting for over half their cap for years. Their defense gets better every year and then they lose their top players on D becuase they cant resign them. Hopefully their Coach will do like Gibbs and instill what it means to be a Colt and get people to play for less money to stay
