What was Bradshaw smoking?

http://msn.foxsports.com/story/3143832

Terry Bradshaw on Joe Gibbs' return to Washington: "He is a Hall of Fame coach but I firmly believe this is a young man's game. To come back as head coach after being out for so long is tough. I'm glad Joe Gibbs is back and he brings credibility and respectability to the Redskins, but I do believe it was a mistake."

How much younger is he talking? Steve Spurrier younger? Because we already had him here and look what he did. Now yes Gibbs has his faults, but I have strongly disagree with old baldy. I really miss Jimmy Kimble(SP) on the Fox pre-game show, they should bring him back just to watch him get under Bradshaw's skin, how I hate Bradshaw!!! :banghead:

Uh-oh. Don't let little ZackieMills see this quote. He'll fall in love with Bradshaw.

Bradshaw

I met Bradshaw a couple of years ago at a book signing here. He was really very nice. I went with the former QB of the Divas, and she asked him about reading defenses. He grabbed some pens and started lining them up, and talking about what to look for. He went on for a couple of minutes before really looking up and said, "Why do you want to know about that?" We talked to him about the Divas for a few minutes, and he thought it was great.
(I still don't agree with him on the Gibbs thing mind you, and I hope by next season he will have to eat his words)

I love Bradshaw. He's hilarious. My friends grandfather who's been a Steelers fan for his whole life and lives in Pittsburgh told us all sorts of stories about him.

I don't think the NFL has passed Gibbs by, and the new blocking schemes prove he's willing to make the necessary changes. The QB situation is absolutely infuriating.

Also notice that only one person on that staff (who have plenty of football knowledge) seemed to disagree with him.

ZackMills 11-09-2004 05:46 PM

I wholeheartily agree with Mr. Bradshaw on this topic. I wish Gibbie would never have come back.

Not only why not, but who should it be if not Gibbs?

I would have liked to see Coach Spurrier finished what he started. But since he decided to leave, I would have loved to see Denny Green in the burgundy and gold. Quality head coach that is a proven winner in this decade. No "learning curve" like Gibbie either. Probably has the common sense to start Ramsey over Brunell too :D

Redskins8588 11-09-2004 07:50 PM

I will admit that I too wanted Denny Green here rather than in AZ, but that was before the news of Gibbs coming back. As for Green he is a proven winner at what exactly? I mean he had the best team in what '97 or '98 at 15-1 and the Falcons, the Atlanta Falcons!!! Beat them to go to the Super Bowl. I really think about it how many Big Shows has Green ben the HC for? If Green was that great then the Vikes would have ben playing the Broncos that year, but you know what they say "shoulda, woulda, coulda!!!"

At this point, I want winning seasons and playoffs appearance. How many of those has Denny Green had in the last 10 years? How many does Gibbie have? 'Nuff said.

How many Superbowl's has Denny Green won???? How many has Joe Gibbs won... " Nuff Said ".

And its not like Denny Green has turned the Cardinals into a 8 win team.

I don't care. What has Gibbie done for me lately...nothing...'nuff said.

Redskins8588 11-09-2004 10:54 PM

What is Denny Green doing in AZ that is so great? I will tell you so far he has led them to have an 3-5 record, a 29th ranked offense, and an 18th ranked deffense. Boy he has done alot lately for you!!

At least Gibbs brought in the personel not only for his offense but so that he could have a good deffense too. Yeah look out for Denny Green he is on fire out there in the desert.

Nobody is telling Parcells that this is a young man's game. If that were the case there would be no coaches in athe league.

MTK 11-10-2004 09:38 AM

Bradshaw is an idiot. The Fox show leans more towards the entertainment side than talking real football which is fine, but it's not what I'm interested in. For me it's ESPN or nothing.

skin4Life28 11-10-2004 12:02 PM

Dennis Green really does not have a whole lot of talent in AZ, but he will get them around. A coach that I really like is Jeff Fisher, sure therte having a bad year, but this man can flat out get it done. I love his intensity on the field and how much his players play so hard for him.

Actually Matty, I find the NFL Network to be the most informative football show With Sterling Sharpe, Glenn Parker and other guy formerly of Espn. Sharpe's analysis are always thorough and honest. I don't always agree, but at least they research and study the strengths and weaknesses of each team. They also air the post-game conference from each coach after the highlights.

diehardskin2982 11-10-2004 12:34 PM

Bradshaw always says something stupid every sunday that why he's there

That Guy 11-10-2004 01:37 PM

he got hit one too many times as a kid... you really can't blame him; he can't control himself.

Nah I think it was the piledriver he took from Joe Jones that did his noggin in!:laughing2 And I agree with diehard, he usually says at least one stupid thing every Sunday. Just remember guys, between him and Howie, Howie's the one with the brains!:laughing-
