Sirius had a report that she was a runaway who was reported missing a few months ago, and that there was or may have been a pimp involved... If that's true, the parents have surely been suffering already.

SUFFERN, N.Y. - Pro Football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor was arrested Thursday in connection with the rape of a 16-year-old girl who police said was delivered to his suburban New York City hotel room against her will.
The former New York Giants linebacker was arrested early Thursday at a Holiday Inn in Suffern, said Christopher St. Lawrence, supervisor of the town of Ramapo. The victim was 16, one year below the legal age of consent in New York, St. Lawrence said.
An attorney for Taylor, Kenneth Gribetz, said he expected Taylor to be arraigned later Thursday. “We’re confident his innocence will be proven,” he said.
Another man, Rasheed Davis, 36, was arrested in the case on charges of unlawful imprisonment, assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Police said the girl had been staying with Davis in the Bronx for a few weeks. He beat her up, drove her to the Holiday Inn and told her she had to have sex with Taylor, police said. When she refused, Davis handed her over to Taylor, who sexually assaulted her, they said. Taylor paid her $300, which she gave to Davis, police said.
Davis “struck the young girl with his fist, kicked her and brought her to the Holiday Inn against her will,” NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said.
On the way back from Suffern, the girl sent text messages to her uncle spelling out what had happened, Browne said. The uncle then went to the NYPD, he said.
There was no phone number listed at the address provided by police for Davis and it wasn’t clear if he had an attorney. His relationship with the girl was unclear.
The Bronx district attorney’s office refused to comment.

I wonder if craigslist was involved.

With LT's previous criminal history, would a conviction be viewed as a 3rd strike scenario.

Strange - alot of people said Ben should get a room and hire escorts. Sounds like LT tried to do that, but geez.

I would not be surprised if it gets plead down to a misdemeanor, IF, LT can show reasonable belief she was older.

The running away aspect has to scare every parent of a teenage girl. They are emotional wrecks.

The guy punching her in the face and forcing her will certainly go away for a LOOOONNNG time.

Those are interesting points, I am just not sure what you are implying? That it was a setup? That nothing happened and they(the girl and guy) are trying to extort LT? What is the alternative that you might see to answer your questions.

I AM not defending him....lets make this clear please.All I'm saying is this sounds a bit strange to me,remember the Dukes LX team .The story as is just doesn't sit right with me.Look at it like you didn't know who he was.

Apologize. Yours had more info. But I'm assuming your backing LT which I guess I am sorta also. Not sure what the hooker laws are up there in the town where it occured or NY in general.

Whats funnier is if it happened here in VA, the pimp would get punished worse for pimping out a juvenile, the juvenile might catch a charge of prostitution, and LT might catch a charge of contributing to a delinquency of a minor. Any adult having sex with a minor (someone under 18) 15-17 is simply contributing which is a misdemeanor unless she says he forced himself on her.

I didn't think you were defending him, I just don't get how all the pieces that you pointed out fit together. I agree some parts seem strange. Of course, the police aren't gonna say everything. And, I, right or wrongly, assumed that she had been talking to the uncle prior and he was somehow associated with the "pimp". Doesn't say much of his being an uncle, but that's how I filled in the back story.

I don't condone abuse at all, but had she stayed at home where she should have been, instead of running away from home, she most likely would not have been in this situation and protected....by her family.

Instead she must have thought screw this I'm out I don't have to listen to this, ran away, hooked up with a pimp (either she met him or was introduced to him through a friend), and put herself in this situation. Maybe if kids would take a moment to realize they are not as smart as they think and there are people who are out there willing to take advantage of them any way they can, she might not have been pimped out or abused.

I see it all the time. Kids running away cause they don't like what mommy and daddy are punishing them for. Mostly its bad grades and they aren't going to be told they can't speak or see their boyfriends/girlfriends. Unfortunatly there are a small % that hook up with the wrong people as in this case or hooking up with people through the internet.

I'm also using what little facts we have right now. Supposedly the girl was listed as a run a way two weeks ago. Which could be proven by the police had they truly made a report. If the family pimped her out then I certainly can't blame the girl now can I.

I just wish people would stop blaming everyone else, or pointing fingers at everyone but themselves. Maybe if society would start taking a little responsibility for their own actions.

It sounds like the allegations of getting beat and being forced to have sex with LT happened pretty close together. I didn't get the impression that she was beaten and then several days passed before the LT incident.

If the allegations are indeed true, the biggest child in all of this is Lawrence Taylor. At 51 years old, you should be able to act like a responsible adult and know right from wrong. Sadly, Taylor's never shown that ability

It is an odd double standard though, assuming this was consensual. When I was 16 I would have loved to hook up with a cougar. It's like that South Park episode where the young kid hooks up with a Teacher and the cops hand him a "luckiest boy in America" medal.

However when a guy is the older participant people seem much more likely to get up in arms. Ironically I'm one of those people, for some reason I feel really weird about it when it's a girl thats underage but if it's a guy I feel like finding him and telling him how great he is.
