Gen. Stanley McChrystal
He's keeping it real, should be interesting to see whether Obama keeps it real too and fire the general and his entire staff. I do understand McChrystal's frustration though, he has been given a task can't possibly complete.
If poor judgement is grounds for dismissal, call in Donald Trump. |
Re: Gen. Stanley McChrystal
He should have resigned before he bad mouthed the Administration. Everyone knows the war is lost though.
|
Re: Gen. Stanley McChrystal
Yeah, I thought he was keeping it real, until I read this:
"He prefers Bud Light Lime (his favorite beer)..." Badass Generals should drink Whiskey. |
Re: Gen. Stanley McChrystal
Wow. What is the purpose of the Afghan war again? Oh, find bin Laden. Only one problem, he does not exist as a human being, he is an idea, a cultural phenomenom. Western civilization has too much hubris to understand this.

Re: Gen. Stanley McChrystal
I read several articles about this whole thing this morning. Honestly, it's alarming. Afghanistan is the now the longest war in our nation's history. To have a general of McChrystal's caliber calling out the administration... Sheesh.
A few of the articles I read spoke of what an excellent general he is, and how he's always been very respectful of others, particularly his superiors. I don't really know much about the man, but if that's true, that makes this whole thing even more troubling. Very unfortunate. |
Re: Gen. Stanley McChrystal
Afghanistan would've been over had Bush not taken vacation during it :silly:
Honestly though it's hard to give either admin much credit on the situation. When someone inherits the "cleanup effort" it's hard to blame them more though. What makes me wonder is why neither admin really committed what they said it would take. Maybe they knew something that's just not coming to light for us common folk. |
Re: Gen. Stanley McChrystal
How do you have a war on terrorism and an open border? The answer is (drum roll please) it's a big lie.

Re: Gen. Stanley McChrystal
Well judging from what's going on and seeing as it's the longest war we've had. It looks like a Jim Zorn type situation. That is sad. It's over. Brang the boys home regroup and prepare for Iran. That's what a good strategist would do. Pride won't let us regroup though.

Spoke too soon. What have the Persians ever done to you? |
Re: Gen. Stanley McChrystal
It's time we bring our troops home. We've allowed both wars to be overly politicized (as all wars are) and too damn costly for our country.

He ran on that so Af. is his don't push this over on Bush. Again. |

Somebody got a woody for them. That's all they talk about. Afghanistan and Iraq makes attacking Iran impossible. Obama in a hurry to get out of these conflicts for only one reason. Bush missed the real target cause 9-11 made us throw startegy out the window. those older civilizations with all this depp history, they know how to defeat an invasion. Flying around toy planes ain't getting the job done. |

Bush neglected Afghanistan, it is his. It is the real war he forgot. He lost Iraq (we paying the insurgents not to shoot) and Afghanistan. T - 6 months til the CNN pictures of Taliban shotting in the air in celbration. T - 3 months before somebody makea a Karzai kibob. |

Yea if you wanted to ignore all the attacks on us and do nothing. 1993 - The first World Trade Center bombing 1995 - Attempted crashing of plane on White House 1995 - Oklahoma City bombing 1996 - Khobar Towers bombing - Saudi Arabia 1998 - U.S. Embassy bombings Kenya/Tanzania 2000 - USS Cole Bombing - Yemen |

Dont forget prices at the pump didnt even keep up with inflation prior to his tenure. Then we saw record high prices in Bush's final years. Im gonna go with Carter before him. |

Ok I'll make this easy. We had troops in Afghanisatan and Obama had the choice to pull them out or continue the war. He chose to stay and even bring in another 30,000 troops so now this is Obamas war. When you get to Iraq he said he would pull out the troops like he is somewhat doing so thats not his deal but AF. is and there is no way around that. |

yup some cum on a blue dress caused some f-ing ruh-tards to fly planes into buildings and theres no way in hell the budget surplus was a result of 12 years of gop before big willy |

Can his ass big time. Even if he is "right" he still forgot one rule. We all work for someone. And you better not undermine them. If he is so disillusioned then quit/retire and go a on a speaking tour about what a bunch of clowns they are or shut your pie hole in public and make your arguments to their faces. Don't go sandbagging them in public. Have some respect. You think a military man would understand chain of command a little better.

Don't worry, this guy will get a job with Northrop Grumman or some other military industrial complex company after he gets sacked. Oh as for Jorge Bush and President Hussein . . .

Apparently McCrystal has submitted his resignation. It's really a shame to see McChrystal go because I think he had a lot of good ideas in terms of building a relationship with locals in Afghanistan and was cognizant of the need to minimize civilian deaths.

The building relationships is not new in Afghanistan and he just probably has more man power now to make it easier. |
