Are you kidding me?

If this story is true, Taylor is a big time punk. I wonder what the future holds for Redskins and this guy.

Daseal 11-16-2004 06:19 PM

Read the other thread. It basicly says, who cares? he has a mean streak.

d151b 11-16-2004 06:33 PM

yeh, hoooooooshmanzada might have said something about his momma ....

Redskins_P 11-16-2004 07:01 PM

Taylor is fine. He's just a young immature kid.

I could care less about what Doooshmanzadeh says...

BleedBurgundy 11-16-2004 07:02 PM

If this was a Bengals player spitting on Smoot, we'd all be pissed. I think Taylor's a great player, I'm glad he's on our team, but that's not exactly a class move. Spitting on someone doesn't denote a mean streak, it just denotes a childish, asshole streak.

skinsguy 11-16-2004 07:33 PM

I guess many of you guys don't remember Dexter Manley.

Bozzy 11-16-2004 07:44 PM

who fucking cares! This is stupid. What would you have preferred, what, should Taylor had decked hoooosmanzada? I hate that name. Long, unspellable names piss me off.

Sheriff Gonna Getcha 11-16-2004 08:23 PM

Classless crap. But, I'm glad he's on our team. Hopefully he'll mature. There's a lot of stuff I did when I was 21 or 22 that I regret and I wouldn't want people basing their judgments of me on.

Riggo44 11-16-2004 08:33 PM
who fucking cares! This is stupid. What would you have preferred, what, should Taylor had decked hoooosmanzada? I hate that name. Long, unspellable names piss me off.
No doubt!

That Guy 11-16-2004 08:40 PM

dude should have spit back...

Daseal 11-16-2004 08:45 PM

Considering what must happen on the bottom of a fumble pileup getting spit on would be the best thing they could ask for.

cpayne5 11-16-2004 09:16 PM
Considering what must happen on the bottom of a fumble pileup getting spit on would be the best thing they could ask for.
Exactly.

I work w/ a guy that played college ball and has told me quite a few stories about some of the stuff he did and what people did to him that nobody else sees. It's a part of football (always has been, always will be), get over it.

Gmanc711 11-16-2004 09:34 PM

Whatever, If someone did that to one of our players, I guess i'd be a little upset, but its not like it was physical harm. I dont agree with it, if it happend, but its not a big deal.

BleedBurgundy 11-16-2004 09:36 PM

I think everyone is right, our players should exhibit no class. At the same time, I would expect that no opponent of ours would dare disrespect any member of our team in that manner. Right. And everyone should be named Smith, it makes it so much easier to pronounce and spell their name correctly when talking shit about them. And yes, I for one would have preferred Taylor decking the other guy, as opposed to spitting on him. At least you can respect a fight, but spitting? What is he, 3 years old? C'mon. But, I will agree that it's pointless to discuss further.

FRPLG 11-17-2004 09:25 AM

Christ people it's football!! These guys are attempting on every play to literally hurt you. This is not a joke. They are looking to inflict as much damage as allowed by the rules on each play. The last thing anybody who actually isn't a pansy super bitch should be worried about is whether a guy spit on you. I lost a bit of respect for Lewis when he brought this up. It should be a complete non-issue.

MTK 11-17-2004 10:09 AM

Spitting on someone is one of the most degrading things you can do.

If it is true, then Houshmandzadeh is right, Taylor is a punk. I'd rather he took a swing at him.

Remember when Romanowski spit in the face of JJ Stokes?? I remember a lot of backlash at Romo on the board.

So just because it's one of our guys it's ok?? It's football and we shouldn't make a big deal of it?? Someone said he lost respect for Lewis for bringing this up? Are you kidding me? I guess he should have just told Houshmandzadeh to suck it up and don't be a baby?

If this situation was the other way around and it was one of our guys that got spat on, I can only imagine the outrage if Gibbs didn't come out and say something about it. Can you imagine Gibbs at the postgame press conference saying, "Yeah I know one of our guys got spat on, but I told him to suck it up, this is football, there's no room for crybabies in football." Yeah right. I'm sure we would all back up Gibbs on that.

If it is proven to be true by the league, Taylor deserves any punishment that comes his way. And I'm sure the team will deal with him accordingly as well.

SmootSmack 11-17-2004 10:13 AM

What was the blood alcohol content of his spit?....ok, I know, that's just wrong

Wrong, but funny
Spitting on someone is one of the most degrading things you can do.
You should talk to some of the women I've dated if you think spitting is degrading....... :embarrass

RedskinRat 11-17-2004 11:59 AM

On a serious note for once, spitting is a very primal response, not very mature but highly effective for giving someone a jolt. The martial art I studied in the UK used spitting (I'm not kidding) or throwing a handful of coins/dirt/whatever as an initial repulse mechanism.

Not something that has a place in sports. :nono:

diehardskin2982 11-17-2004 12:12 PM

I like it, we need an asshole with a mean streak. Sean is probrally like "if u got a problem with it score on me as simple as that". I hope he becomes a Rod Harrison type player, thats what we need.

Shane 11-17-2004 12:20 PM

Spitting on someone is disgusting and crude and idiotic. This deserves punishment. I hope that Taylor recognizes what a fool he made of himself and with that awareness becomes a better person.

MTK 11-17-2004 12:30 PM

I'm all for guys with a mean streak, hell back in my football days I was known for being a complete a-hole on the field. I even took out our QB in practice one day. But there's a big difference between having a mean streak and resorting to dispicable behavior like spitting on someone.

SmootSmack 11-17-2004 01:13 PM
You should talk to some of the women I've dated if you think spitting is degrading....... :embarrass

Gmanc711 11-17-2004 01:44 PM

Taylor can have a mean streak without spitting. I like Taylors additude, but you dont spit in someones face, common. I'd rather have Taylor throw a punch than spit at him. If some dude was walking down the street, I'd rather have them thorw a punch at me than spit in my face. Still this should be a non-issue, Hoosamawhateverthehellhisnameis , should have just clocked Taylor or somthing, not cried to mommy.

SkinsRock 11-17-2004 03:04 PM

It is wrong, but the guy should have just spat back or swung at him. Instead, he went bitching to his coach, who in turn, went bitching to the league, and now they're "investigating the incident".....whatever....

He didn't spit anyway...."he sneezed." ;)

diehardskin2982 11-17-2004 03:15 PM

all I'm saying is that we don't know what happened it one guys word agianst anothers, and if hoze has a problem score on him and to celebrate on taylor, not cry to the league like a punk. U got a problem u deal with it on the feild not make it a media frenzy. And yes I do like sean's attitude he's not going to respond to it in the media and move on to next week agianst philly. If we give this kid more chances to lay the wood on blitzes we would see more out of him. U can't expect a guy to change once he makes it in the big leagues. that why teamates love guys like this and opponents hate to play agianst them because they play psycological (misspelled) games as well as physical. Regaurdless of how dirty Romo was, he was one of the most feared lbs in history during his prime. and u want that type of guy backing u up because they're ride or die. :boxing:

Correct on both counts.

GoSkins! 11-17-2004 05:49 PM

He's really just proved that under that big frame he's still just a kid. Hope he gets over it and ends up more like Lavar and less like T.O.

FRPLG 11-18-2004 09:01 AM

I am sorry but all of you are being complete total f%&$ing retards. How about we worry about something that freaking matters. Not about this retarded ass crap. All of you act like it would be better for him to have chopped blocked him or speared him helmet to helmet or something. HE FREAKING SPIT ON THE GUY IN THE HEAT OF A DRAMATIC FOOTBALL GAME. There are A LOT OF WORSE THINGS that could have happened. Does it make Taylor a punk? Yeah probably...who cares whether he is liked around the league though. Wory about something that matters people.

Daseal 11-18-2004 12:08 PM

The second they prove he spit on him, someone can bitch.

All in all, this doesn't MATTER. I've drooled on Cpayne quite a few times in our football games!

FRPLG 11-18-2004 12:41 PM

"It really hasn't been a big deal to me," said Gibbs, who added: "I don't have a clue what's happened here."

That say sit all. Sorry but if Saint Joe doesn't think it is a big deal I don't know why anyone else would. I guess people love to bitch and moan and tear others down. Everyone please let up on the kid. He hss made mistakes but there are far worse characters in the sports world than Sean Taylor. At least let him do something to deserve all this scrutiny. The SUI notwithstanding he seems like a guy who just needs to adjust and grow up a bit. Guys like Arrington, Smooth and Springs will help him get straightened out.

SmootSmack 11-18-2004 12:42 PM

I've heard Love Train Payne is quite the looker in those cleats ;)

SmootSmack 11-18-2004 01:42 PM

Taylor Cleared

This should put an end to everything:

http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/wireStory?id=262984

MTK 11-18-2004 01:56 PM

He's been cleared so I don't have a problem with him anymore.

My guess is if there was solid evidence and he was penalized by the league, Gibbs would have taken a much different stance.
