Official I Love the "Insert Decade" Thread

Thanks to Brud who inadvertently inspired Gmanc711 and I to start talking about Full House in another thread I've decided to start a silly, off-topic thread where we can all reminisce about random things from our childhood

Shows, music, toys, trends, etc. from the 70s, 80s, 90s, (1890s for Curmudgeon, :joke: ) whatever you want to share fond memories about do it here:

OK, who else here collected Garbage Pail Kids cards?

Gmanc711 11-22-2004 12:04 AM

Alright, we need to get this baby off and running, I'm gonna say we start with the Early 90's.

Why not stick with the TGIF theme for the time being and think Family Matters! Does anyone remember when Urkel and Carl had that machine that turned them into bruce lee and went to the bar and kicked those guys asses who were harrasing eddie! LOL!! That was one of hte best. " Boards.... No hit baaack"

anyone a neverending story fan?

plus does anyone remember shows like gummi bears and the shirt tales?

and does everyone remember their first crush of a celeb? mine was the hot blonde chick from teen wolf, lol.

SmootSmack 11-22-2004 12:34 AM

Family Matters got really odd when they introduced Urkel's alter ego Stephan. And remember that younger sister that mysteriously was written off the show? Apparently she went on to be a porn star

and speaking of porn, could there have been a better porn name than Rider Strong (Shawn from Boy Meets World)?

Dashing and daring, courageous and caring...gummi bears rocked

favorite muppet baby? mine was rolf

Redskins_P 11-22-2004 11:46 AM

My first celeb crush was Alyssa Milano on Whos the boss.

Gmanc711 11-22-2004 11:57 AM

Ooo , first celeb crushes are exellent. My first celebrity crush..... drum roll please.... Alicia Silverstone, I remember I was like 7 and saw the movie "Crush".... oh my god it was so lovley.

To respond to your family matters response; smootsmack, they did do things like that in the show alot. Towards the end of the show, they switched the actress who played the mom, it was really weird. The show wasent a classic, but some of the episodes were.

How bout some of hte movies back in the early 90's? What are they lookin like there?

Redskins_P 11-22-2004 01:22 PM

Another celeb crush.....Elizabeth Schutte in Karate Kid. To this day I still have a crush on her.

Gmanc711 11-22-2004 01:26 PM

What are some of your favorite songs... how bout ICE ICE BABY... " IF A RHYME WAS A DRUG I'D SELL IT BY THE GRAM"....

I know all the words to that song to this day

Goonies is one of the pure classics in movie history....

"I went up to this girl...
She said hi, my name is sheena
I thought she'd be good to go with a little funky cold medina
She said she'd like a drink I said ok, I'll go get
A couple of sips, she done licked her lips and I knew that she was with it

So we went up to my crib, and everything went well as planned
but when we got undressed, it was a big ol' mess.... Sheena was a man
So I threw her our I dont fool around w/ no Oscar Myar Weiner
You best be sure that your girl is pure for the Funky Cold Medina "

Any Fans of the HUMPTY DANCE??? I freaking loved that song.

wanna do the butt all night long"

Never a big Rocky fan, well actually I've never seen the movies so I cant comment. Did anyone ( you'd proboly have to be around my age to have seen it ) ever watch Salute your Shorts or Hey Dude on Nickeloden?

I still have my berenstein bears books. Actually my dad had taken them to his office (he's a pediatrician) when I was a kid because he figured I was done with them. So when I was around 21 years old I was helping him move into a new office and I took all the books back home! Screw the sick patients!! I also liked the Sweet Pickles books collection.

Anyone remember 3-2-1 contact and the bloodhound gang?

skinsfanthru&thru 11-24-2004 01:24 AM

well she used to be hot before she got super skinny atleast, lol.
