is henson the guy who told everyone that works at mcdonalds to shut up about the team or something?

I like Blades but he simply does not look good getting beat as often as he does. I hope Henson is ok and can play relatively soon. He was all over the field making plays.

yep he tweeted something to that effect after the fans were booing the team in the early part of last season. During one of our terrible losses.

From what I understand and remember is...
He said something to the affect that the fans in general need to shut up about how the team is playing and that most don't know what the heck they are talking about...considering "we all work at McDonalds" or something like that and he has a real career.

I'm just paraphrasing here, but I think I'm close on this.
Someone might want to dbl check the exact quote from him on this.

Plus,I think he's a Cowboys fan or was rumored to be as well...

lmao yeah, since obviously all of us DC/md/va-ers are restricted to such primitive, unsophisticated career paths. especially compared to almighty dallas...texas.

cowgirls fan or not, he was a ball hawk last night...i'd definitely like to see him on the roster, healthy and contributing. if at all possible.

but dude, in reference to the sig...14-2? c'mon now. that almost stresses ME out setting the bar that high!

Joey T said during the 3rd quarter of the game on Skins network it was a sprained knee and nothing like a tear.

How in the hell could you afford season tickets on a Mcdonalds salary anyway. Considering I could not afford them (as a straight cash purchase), maybe I should check into working for the Golden Arches!!

yeah he said sprain but there was an MRI and Henson was quoted as saying something about hoping that he didn't rupture it

I read somewhere that when he tried to put weight on it, it just buckled on him. That's not good.

Anyone watching the previous games should've noticed his play. We'll have info pretty soon.

HB Blades sucks as a LB...he doesn't want it and he is no London. He is a good special teamer though.

As soon as I hear surgery I start thinking recovery times, and what kind of surgery it was. If it was a sprain I doubt it would require surgery which leads me to believe it might've been a tear. If it was an MCL or PCL, maybe he could come back this season? If it was ACL he's done for the year.

What does cut - injured really mean?

Re: Henson's Injury
What does cut - injured really mean?
Means he got an injury settlement and was released.

artmonkforhallofamein07 09-04-2010 08:53 PM

Re: Henson's Injury

I would think they would have had to give him and Oldenburg some kind of injury settlement.

Well not think, I know they have to. You cannot release a player for being injured without an injury settlement.

CRedskinsRule 09-04-2010 08:55 PM

Re: Henson's Injury

So, we do not retain his rights in any way, right?

artmonkforhallofamein07 09-04-2010 09:01 PM

Re: Henson's Injury

Right, he can sign anywhere, but without knowing the extent of his injury, I would say he will most likely be a FA at the end of the year.

CRedskinsRule 09-04-2010 09:09 PM

Re: Henson's Injury

ok, could we bring him b ack in the middle of the year vs IR?

Sorry, for the simple questions, just don't know and I really liked the performance in the Arizona game.

artmonkforhallofamein07 09-04-2010 09:18 PM

Re: Henson's Injury

I agree C. If he his healthy at some point this year and not signed by another team, there is no reason why we could not resign him at any point in time.

As of right now Robert Henson is a Free Agent. No Restrictions or rights held by any team. He is available to the whole league to sign as of now.

Why didn't we put him on IR?
Why didn't we put him on IR?
Probably they didn't see enough through the whole off season and preseason to warrant paying his full salary

I doubt he would have had surgery so soon if it was a tear. Surgery isn't imperative after such an injury, and usually requires swelling to subside before hand, as well.

My wife tore her ACL the first part of June and actually had to do some physical therapy before the surgery to help prepare her knee for surgery (range of motion). She had her surgery 6 weeks after the injury, and her knee was actually in pretty good shape (minus the shredded ACL) going into surgery.

CPayne.. the pros usually have it done right away. Sports players are in top form and have top care, these guys get it done quick. I remember Brady having his done very quickly, and the same with Welker. As in quick within a matter of days if not hours.

Dude should get an internship at McDonalds while he is rehabbing.

So he can hang out with the commoners that he has such respect for.

Still the swelling has to go down before they can do anything is the point, and sometimes that can take days depending on the severity of the tear.

Re: Henson's Injury

For a couple of quarters against the Cards, the dude was in the zone -- he looked like Ray Lewis out there. It's a bit curious to see him discarded, but without the injury I guess it remains to be seen whether he would have made the roster. As CRR said, there likely wasn't enough on a sustained level to warrant leaving him a spot.

Right, world class athletes aren't immune to swelling.

This is a quote from when Carlos Rogers tore his ACL three years ago...
"He will undergo surgery when the swelling subsides in a few weeks and Gibbs will consider signing..."

Tom Brady tore his ACL 9/7 and had surgery 10/6. Wes Welker tore his 1/3 and had surgery 2/2.

Re: Henson's Injury

Ok.. I was wrong.. lol... may memory fails me at times.

I am not even going to speculate any more. We should wait till the injury and surgery are at least announced.

Maybe it was an MCL tear or something. I don't know, all any of us know is he was cut.
