Everyone is so busy talking about AH and VJ that no one is talking about Sunday night.

The Cowboys have spent much time in the offseason talking about the Super Bowl and getting big heads. Yet they have not looked that great in the preseason.

I say they are ripe for the picking. What sayeth the mob?

I think this maybe the Biggest game for this organization in years.. Yea I know its only week 1, but the expectations for Dallas are sky high and this is our chance to show the rest of the league that Shanahan and McNabb will be a great duo. I think Dallas is very talented at the skill positions, but this is a perfect game for Orakpo/Carter to get pressure on Romo. Jim Haslett has to dial up some blitzes and try and force Tony into some mistakes. On Offense, I'm a little concerned.. Cooley and Moss are the only reliable pass catchers on the offense yet again this season. I hope Anthony Armstrong can emerge as the number 2, and get Fred Davis the ball also. CP/LJ also are big ?s, can this team run the ball? I'm very excited about this season and have playoff admiration's. Start off 1-0 against Dallas, how great would that be.

Skins 24 Dallas 10

Dallas' preseason woes are real. Their O-Line is three turnstiles and two open doors. Their offense is just not right. Doom and gloom sets in as they sputter on the field and cannot hold onto the ball.

The Skins offense, while not hitting on all cylinders, capitalizes on turnovers. CP has a huge day on national television, the revamped O-line shines, and the D-line plays lights out making everyone say "Albert who?".

Well,just like I've been predicting a 14-2 record I also had us opening the season with a huge win.

I also have lots of bets with Dallas and even Eagles fans that we will drop 40 pt's on the Cowboys Sunday Night. (One is a voluntarily Never post in eagles forum if i lose bet,the other is an Avy bet at Goallineblitz with a cowboys fan)

Obviously,both of them and everyone else including Redskins fans think I'm insane..lol (But I'm MORE than confident that we will score 40 pt's or more this game...YOU MUST believe me!)

But to prove to everyone,that we are better than what everyone thinks we will be....I'm sticking to my guns.

We will beat Dallas 41-10!

I don't think the Skins are that much better but I do think that it's hard to prepare for a team with a completely different staff that has only showed vanilla plays so far. I think we'll get 4-5 TO's. If the offense doesn't have any than we should win.

Even though Dallas has O-line issues they're still better. I'd expect them to win this game for a few reasons...McNabb is probably not going to be in sync with his wr's, Ware will probably have success against Williams, Brown hasn't really been able to fully practice, they've got better skill guys, the defense will struggle in the 3-4. I'd expect us to be better later on in the season.

Dallas had a long preseason and basically looked like garbage. Still I'm sure they'll be ready to go. FedEx will be rockin', I really don't know what to expect from the Skins honestly. I'm going with the homer pick of Skins 17 Dallas 16. Gano boots a 45 yarder for the W.

Keep this in mind as well guys, as I posted this also in a different thread.

Shanahan is #1 of all current 32 coaches in week 1, opening games. He's 12-4 and has the best record on opening weekend.
That's a 75% winning % on opening day. That's pretty good.

Just remember that, when you predict us to lose.....lol

With so much uncertainty surrounding both teams, for once in a long time the outcome of the game does not appear so certain. It's going to be typical Redskins Cowboys, for the first game of the new season it will serve as an early measuring tool towards determining where we are as a team. Of course if we win we're super bowl bound, if we lose keep an eye on the message boards.

Skins 24, Cowboys 13. This garbage I'm reading about how good Free looked in preseason is insane. CREDIBLE articles are talking about how crappy he has been and Orakpo is going to own him. The Cowboys will get a few big plays, and as long as our D doesn't show but so many growing pains to the 3-4, I think we really stick it to them.

I am going to say 17-10, Cowboys. I just don't see MS in company pulling it all together this quick. this game will be a bump in the road for MS and company.

The Skins are improved in a lot of areas but its not enough this early in the season.

I am trying to tamper my expectations. I really have no idea whats gonna happen with this team and NOTHING would suprise me. Good or bad. I still have us pegged at like 9-7. I think Dallas is gonna be good this year, but they played really poorly in the preseason, and their offensive line woes are real.

I'm gonna go 17-10, Washington, soley based on home feild advantage. If this game was being played in Dallas, I'd probaboly mark it 17-10 Dallas.

If I thought the skins would loose then why even watch the game. I'm thinking the skins come out hot and we cruise to a 28-13 win. I think it comes down to McNabb v/s Homo and I think Orakpo gets to rock Homo a few times. I'll also throw in a long pass to Moss for 7 to get things going.

I refuse to bet for the Redskins losing. this thread is about a prediction and I believe we don't win, am I pulling for us to win, HELL YES but I feel like this not our game.

I like the positive energy, I hope Fedex Field Rocks like it never has.
At the VT game, I could actually feel the stadium rocking up and down, IT CAN BE DONE!

That said.
Position Group .... Skins..... Dallas

OL .......................+ ................TW mans up while Dallas OL will be exposed this wk
QB .......................=.........= .....I hate Romo, but his elusiveness makes it a push
RB .................................+ ......CP is going to have an explosive night, but Dallas has more runners
WR ..................................+ .....nothin (well, I am curious how Dez Bryant plays)
TEs .......................+ ...............Witten is better than Cooley (barely) but we have the better group
DL ........................= ....... = ....I like our rotation a lot better, but Dallas' front is very good
LBs ...................... = ....... = ....Overall we both have weakness over the middle, and all the OLB's can be beasts
CB's ..................... + ................This was a tough group, but I don't think Dallas' is very good, I admit that might be Bias
Coaching ............. + .................Kyle is gonna find new ways to tear up Dallas' D, Haslett against Garrett is fairly even.


Overall ...... Skins Win 27 - 21, YO GANO!!! Fred Davis gets 2 TDs, and CP has 115 yds and 1 TD.

I'm not betting on the win or loss...

Only the points..I'm only betting you that we score @ or more than the 27 pt's you had in your total score of a 17-10 redskin loss.

I have us winning 41-10 in the game and think we will light it up Sunday night...I was just making a friendly wager of confidence for the skins..

We have this same argument every year on this board.

Someone starts a thread about the up coming weeks game, people weigh in, god forbid you don't say the Skins win in a blow out; if you pick them to lose you are stripped of your Redskins Fan Card, regardless if you have been a fan since you were four.

Gets old, fast.

I think it will be a hard fought game that could go into overtime, after that...who knows.

Andre Carter will be the x factor in this game, in my opinion

I could at least understand if the game were @dallas on opening night,since we don't play well on the road opening day (see:last 2 seasons @Giants)

But at home,2 time SB winner HOF coach,HOF QB and we want dallas chants...?
and a coach with a 12-4 week 1 record and tops of all 31 other coaches....?
A QB with a chip on his shoulder?

If this were the Redskins VS the AFC Pro Bowl roster...I would have us winning at home!

I think Dallas wins this game.It doesnt matter how they looked in preseason,I watched their games and Romo still looked damn good.They had dropped passes for ints and fumbles,things didnt bounce their way this preseason,we cant count on that.
I think with them getting Dez bryant for this game,Mcnabb not spending enough time with the offense,our run defense worst in the preseason,questions about Fat Al,advantage Dallas

Could it be because the regular season is about to begin, or because it's Dallas week that Shanahan has taken time out to caution the local media in the art of discretion?

After reading Dan Steinberg's DC sports blog last night, Shanahan appears less than thrilled at the fact the local media takes the liberty to put in print, elements of team practices which he would rather not see revealed. His hints were about the reporting on personell groupings, team strategy and strategic planning.

I gather from this, Shanahan is not going to be as receptive to giving lengthly answers to media questions in a way simular to his predecessor, or in a way in which the locals have become accustomed.

SS - I'll go with TMC's regular answer: PAIN

First Week games are always crazy. Dallas has swagger, they always get up for a Skins game. Romo has many options to get the ball to between Witten, Austin, Williams, Bryant and Hurd, and their Cerberus backfield of Barber, Jones, and Choice get up for big games. Their O-Line is decent, but if Doug Free ends up seeing Haynesworth and Orakpo all afternoon, Romo will be running for his life. Dallas' defense is solid, with one of the best in the game in Ware.

The Skins are the wild card this year. New coach, new systems on both sides of the ball, new QB. The talking heads see a weakened running game with 2 old horses, and no receivers to get the ball to aside from Moss and Cooley. The defense has adjusted to the 3-4 well, and this style of defense will let Orakpo run wild.

I see the Skins win in a close one. Let's say 20-16.

New here so maybe that's been the case on these boards in the past.

I personally don't fault you for predicting us to lose in a 17-10 and that's a very realistic and logical way of thinking imo....

And if we had Jason campbell,Jim Zorn and same staff,a 4-3 bend don't break have our CB 15 yards off the WR's....Portis and Betts and no improvement along the O-line....Moss and Randel El and company....

Actually...i would have us losing probably 24-7 or 24-10 or something like that.

People need to forget about last season...

Imagine we are an expansion team that added 13 pro bowlers on their roster with a franchise QB and a 2 time SB winning head coach with THE best opening week 1, 12-4 winning % in the league...
