Re: Redskins Game Shown in Baltimore?
I think it may depend on your provider but most people i know up there don't get like 80% of the games.
|
Re: Redskins Game Shown in Baltimore?
The skins should be the FOX games every sunday in Baltimore. That's how it is here with Dallas, and its the same with the saints in MS.

Re: Redskins Game Shown in Baltimore?
I can't answer your question, but I can give you this link to the nfl broadcast maps. This is only updated right now for week 1, but it is the best place to go to find out if a game is on in your area. Hope this helps. HAIL SKINS!!! |
Re: Redskins Game Shown in Baltimore?
I live in Baltimore. You get most of the games but there are a significant amount you miss.
Anytime Baltimore plays at home, you have a real chance of missing the games. |

The guy who runs the site has changed the layout from years past, but here it a link to the NFL Schedule and where each week's maps can be found: the506.com - Home Anyways, if you will be directly in the city, you're at the mercy of the Baltimore Affiliates. Head to the local sports bar for the games you can't get at home. |
Re: Redskins Game Shown in Baltimore?
If you have Direct TV or any satellite provider, you're screwed, you can only get Baltimore channels and they won't have many of the games. I don't know how Baltimore Verizon FiOS works, but in Howard County (where I live), I get both DC and Baltimore channels, which is great because I get to watch football games shown in DC but not in Baltimore, and vice versa. I think Comcast may be the same way.

Yerp. I'm from Howard County, but recently moved to Federal Hill. I have to go back to Howard County for 70% of the games now. |
Re: Redskins Game Shown in Baltimore?
oh great. thanks everyone. i cant stand missing redskins games.
|
Re: Redskins Game Shown in Baltimore?
I live in Baltimore too, obviously. But they show about 60% of our games. It really depends on what network you have. But you can always go to Sly Fox a 'Skins bar. They show all the games.

2 things: 1. What school are you going to? 2. I went to UMBC and, living in Baltimore County, I noticed that most of the times the Ravens were on at the same time as the Skins, the Skins game wasn't broadcast in Baltimore. I'd often joke that it was because no one wanted Ravens fans to know what offense is, har har. Anyway, my buddy is a Cowboys fan and we usually went to Damon's on Sundays when our game's weren't broadcast, they have Sunday tickets, a bunch of tv's and relatively affordable beers. I'd recommend checking ahead each Sunday to see if the game will be on. More often than not, it probably won't be. |
Re: Redskins Game Shown in Baltimore?
Baltimore County doesn't carry DC Fox, you will miss out this true for all providers. Sort of sucks but their are plenty of bars to go to. If you do go don't just spend $12 and have a cheese steak and endless diet cokes for 4 hours, actually make it worthwhile for the bartender.

Are you, by chance, a bartender, my friend? Lol...I usually spend a bit when I go out, just thought this post was kinda funny |

I'm also in Columbia and I have Comcast so I don't get most of the games in HD, which blows. I can watch them in SD but it looks like poo. Luckily my sister is like 5 minutes away and she has Fios so I usually watch the games there. The good thing about that is she has two daughters under 2 1/2 years old, so their presence usually keeps me from losing it when the team looks like crap. |

I believe channel 75 is SD and 235 is HD. |
Re: Redskins Game Shown in Baltimore?
AMD, did you just move? I thought you were in Federal Hill.
You do realize that there is a DC Fox SD and a DC Fox HD? I believe channel 75 is SD and 235 is HD.
Since when? As of the other day Fox DC in SD is 196 and I don't get it in HD. I'll keep my fingers crossed all day and double check when I get home.
JoeRedskin, I actually moved out of Fed Hill two years ago. Most of my friends decided it was a good idea to get married and move to the suburbs north of Baltimore, so I moved down to Columbia to be a little closer to the family in MoCo but still not too far from work. |
Re: Redskins Game Shown in Baltimore?
So where is a good bar in Columbia to watch the Skins games?
|

Mizz or sc? and nice screen name lol |
Re: Redskins Game Shown in Baltimore?
Bite the bullet, get DirectTV with the NFL package. I think its 189.00 now, vice the 380.00 it will be closer to the start of the season.

Do not get DTV ticket; assuming you have comcast or fios in Howard county you most likely wont miss one game this year. Fox has ever game but 3; 2 CBS and 1 ESPN. ESPN will be at night 1 CBS game is against Ravens and the final CBS game is 9/23 but Ravens play at night. |

Columbia, MD actually. I get the games on tv and get to 1 or 2 at Fedex every year... But sometimes you just want to go to the bar and it seems like everyone reps the ravens around here. I was wondering if there was a specific Redskins bar in the area. The screen name was a natural choice, I guess when his career is done I will have to update to the next cowboys QB lol |

Sly Fox best bet. Fells Point Baltimore |
Re: Redskins Game Shown in Baltimore?
So where is a good bar in Columbia to watch the Skins games?
champps by the mall has some big screens and they play the audio throughout the restaurant. i believe they favor the ravens though - they cater to the guests
so anytime the redskins and ravens are playing at the same time, don't go there for a skins game and expect it to be on the biggest screens or to have audio. |

Verizon FiOS in Howards County carries both DC and Baltimore channels. No point on getting the NFL package, unless you want to see the other games. Plus you can get the Redzone Channel with FiOS. |
Re: Redskins Game Shown in Baltimore?
Not sure about your area, but.....I Exorcised Comcast from my house about a month ago in favor of DTV, 2 year deal.
First year NFL ticket is free....year 2, full boat. No requirement to take it for the second year. |
Re: Redskins Game Shown in Baltimore?
baltimore and DC are designated secondary markets. So, in balt if ...
ravens and skins game at same time = no skins in balt ravens and skins at diff times, skins away = balt fox must show game ravens and skins at diff times, skins home = balt fox has discretion i read a qoute where balt fox said, in response to not living up to their secondary market duties, that ppl in balt dont want to watch skins games and they get more viewers showing another NFC game. i believe this is right, not super confident though |

Re: Redskins Game Shown in Baltimore?
Isn't Baltimore close enough to DC that you could throw up an antenna and pull in FREE HD local stations from both cities? Even if you don't get the DC stations from your cable/sat provider, you should be able to get them that way.
I'm in PA and considering trying this to get the Baltimore channels. I get all Harrisburg local stations. |
