Prayers, Thoughts, and Hopes Needed.
 

I guess that anyone can use this thread down the line, but my son has stuck either a metal ball or bearing or earring up his nose. My wife and I have tried to use a combination of of magnets and tweezers to remove it. He was just moving aroung too frantically and it was too deep to remove it. My wife just rushed him off to the hospital to get it taken care of. Being that a lot of us have seen the worst outcomes from some of the simpliest things I was hoping for some sort of support because I am freaking out.

This has happend to one of my daughters before and we were able to get it removed ourselves. This is much worse and much deeper. This is my only son. So if you pray or hope or whatever...my son needs it right now.

DONE, Prayers for your child and for your family.
It is the job of the parent to fear for their child AND we all do. I am sure the Docs will view this as a minor thing and have him fixed up shortly!

They went through his ear to pop it out.

This was not your run of the mill foreign object up the nose. My son was bleeding, screaming and moving around frantically. It took all my might to hold him down and see what was up there. I could not hold him down long enough to attempt a rescue. Like I said I have seen an object up the nose before...I have 4 kids. This was different. I thought that it was a small metal object of some sort but it wasn't, it was a flippin beed the size of a pearl. It is out and he is doing better now.

This may seem like nothing to some people and in retrospect I may have been over reacting. Regardless I would like to say thanks guys!

Glad your son is OK Angry. WOw they really had to go through his ear? Wouldn't that damage his inner ear though?

Damn, that sounds hair raising. Glad he's okay Angry. Sheesh.

My mom and dad had two kids- me and my little bro (4 years younger). We were both super active and into sports and all kinds of outdoor activities. We each took multiple trips to the ER as youngins. I can only imagine the anxiety.

Sounds like you need to make a trip to your basement and put away 8-10 Coronas. :)

You act as if I'm stupid enough to make this up. The doctors went through the ear. I am not a specialist and would have never concocted this method.

Well I could understand that much since the ear nose and throat are all connected. Just wondering how it could be done without damaging the eardrum. Buuuut that questions been answered.

Thank God your son is OK. Very sorry you guys had to go through that.

Very glad to hear that every thing went well. Nothing in life is as scary as having your child hurt, especially when you can't "fix" it. I hope that going forward his ear is good.

Man, that is some crazy scary shit to go through as a parent. Glad he's ok. You can't watch these guys all the time...even if you put them in bubble wrap they will suffocate themselves with it.

My daughters are young, and the grays are already setting in. I can't wait for an episode like this to complete the silver fox look. Glad your boy's doing well Angry.

The ears are connected to the network of sinus cavities throughout the head. When you go into the ear canal, before you get to the inner ear, there's a drainage point leading to the sinus cavities.

If you've ever blown your nose too hard and had your ears get blocked up, that's why. Or if you get a bad cold, you can't hear all that great.

They probably fed a flexible instrument through his ear, took the turn before reaching the inner ear, and popped it out. I'm sure they numbed him first because otherwise that would hurt like a sonofabitch.

Get to ER finally make it to the waiting room after paperwork to see Houston win the game.

My wife is still waiting and i brought my son home.

Never have been at such a high and have it all come down so quick.[/I][/B]


They end up giving my wife 7 shots and she wait 7 hours in the ER. She still needs to get 5 more shots through out the week from her doctor. Unreal!
