Let's put Shanahan on the spot

Just for a little fun.

Albert Haynesworth's play annoying to watch. Hence, he doesn't see the field much. Part of it his fault, but not all of it.

However, just what the hell is up with the rest of the freaking defense? They did their squire work, did they, old King?

Oh wait, fitting square pegs into round holes. Yes, that's awesome. Now we get to enjoy what Bronco fans experienced in 2008.

Let's see, we face:
Vick the revived and hyperinvigorated
Mr Dive Bomber, Aaron Da Bomber Rodgers
Petyonian Manning,
And lol, super-sexy gunslinger-extrordinaire Jay Cutler.

After the Lions Jahvid Best carves us up nicely, we face:
Vick AGAIN
The Young Johnson show
The old and original gunslinger, Favrah
The Book of Sheli
The Black Jay Cutler, Josh FREEman. LET FREEDOM RING, BABY. Freedom for the passing game, that is.
Romoextrordinary

We relax for one week against the twin of Jason Campbell (and Super Runt Jones-Drew) , only to face
The Book of Sheli, part deux.

There you have it folks. Let that sink in.

I am fine with moving to a 3-4 but you don't do the same year that you give up 2 draft picks for a veteran quarterback (who we have locked up for one year at this point).

This team had a pretty good defense in the 4-3. We are arguably the worst in the league now.

Why dont most of you guys just slit your wrists now and go watch a hockey game.

Re: Let's put Shanahan on the spot

We'll be lucky to match last year's win total if the defense doesn't change somehow. This Rams game was supposed to be one of, if not THE easiest game on our schedule this year. And we got our asses kicked up and down the field.

Given our schedule, we're in deep shit IMO.

Watch a bunch of chronic chokers? Lots of hype and excitement and no championship.

Philly is better, GB is better, Indy is better, Dallas is better (we all know it), That's already 4-5 more losses. Not counting Chicago, Det (beat us last yr).. We may be better than NYG MAYBE..

at this point, i don't think we are better than a single team on the rest of our schedule.

we are awful.

we might not win another game the rest of the year.

may as well accept it now and be pleasantly surprised if things turn out otherwise.

Re: Let's put Shanahan on the spot

The real question is What Shanny will do in the offseason? Does McNabb come back? IMO Guys like Fletcher ( who I absolutely love and is my favorite Redskin) will be back? Carter is gone, Rogers is gone, All of our WR's besides Moss will be gone.. CP is done, Cooley or Davis, one will be gone. We need to accept the fact and just rebuild ASAP.

I think we are better than Philly. At least we were when Kolb was QB. I predict a win there next week.

We are still a terrible defenst but I think Trent plays, we come out focused and McNabb plays out of his mind.

Vick is due to come down a notch too.

Against our Swiss cheese defense, Jackson and Maclin will have no trouble abusing our secondary. Don't forget about McCoy either. If a scrub can punch it in, he sure can.

Re: Let's put Shanahan on the spot

Yea P$ I can hope all day, but reality sets in and I'm pretty damn sure we will go down something like 28-20. McNabb will play solid but we cant run the ball and cant stop the run so were ****ed

I know that losing to the Lambs is bad and everyone is down.

But you're never as bad as you look in bad losses and never as good as you look in good wins.

Further, the team had no spark, no emotion, today. Give the team some emotion and they'll look very different. Next week is a different week.

they only beat the Eagles next week by creating turnovers or jumping ahead 10-0 or 14-0. We haven't seen how the Eagles respond after being in a 14-0 hole. They scored first the past 2 weeks

I don't like how the ship is being captained. Mutiny! Off with someone's head.

I wish I was Clinton Portis so I could go to Mike Shanahan and ask him for a trade. I'd smile just to piss him off too.

Nerd.

Anyway lets talk about Shanahan, but first a quick word.

Hockey is the coolest game on Earth

Alright now back to Shanahan.

In his first year in Denver Shanahan finished with an 8-8 record

In his second year in Denver Shanahan finished with a 13-3 record.

Re: Let's put Shanahan on the spot

The greater majority has agreed the Redskins have problems on both sides of the ball. That same majority bought into the Allen-Shanahan plan for rebuilding this team into a competitive contender for the future. If we really believe what we've committed too, faith in that belief is going to be tested.

Reasonable suggestion relevant to how the team can/should/would be made better seem a more positive way of thinking than "we suck". The teams deficiencies have been well documented and it's going to take a while before they all can be corrected. We have a lot of work to do, the coming months will gradually begin to shed light on whether or not the faith we all confessed to have in this new administration is warranted.

The current state of this team coupled with the work that needs to be done, presents a real challenge for the Allen - Shanahan group, how they meet that challenge will go a long way towards determining their final legacy here in Washington.

Re: Let's put Shanahan on the spot

wow longtime, thats was an eloquent statement. nice job, i agree, most of us here supported the front office change and knew it was going to take some time and tribulation.

We knew the passing attack should show immediate improvements with mcnabb and the shanahans on board. it has.

We knew the switch to the 34 would take atleast a half season to learn and another full offseason of adding the right pieces.

We knew the running game with an o line with a rookie LT and RT coming off season ending surgery and 3 aged running backs was going to struggle some. Well, i think we thought the running game would produce more than it has.

Like longtime said, our current deficiencies are issues we knew coming into this season. We still have a year of additions and corrections to go through.

The levels of Shanahan runners.

Terrell Davis level - Insane amount of yards and so much production you need to have migraines to give your opponents a fighting chance.

Clinton Portis Level - Not as amazing as Terrell Davis but still an automatic pro bowler with 1,500+ numbers.

Mike Anderson Level - You rush for a 1,000 yards, only to fall back into a platoon before emerging one more time as a 1,000 yard rusher.

Rueben Droughns - You rush for a 1,000 yards in the Shanahan system but then opt to become a free agent where you do it again before fizzling oout.

Orlandis Gary Level - You're a one year wonder

Selvin Young Level - You're a productive member of a platoon but not a 1,000 yard rusher yourself.

Peyton Hillis Level - You show potential to be the next great Shanahan 1,000 yard rusher but you have an emerging QB and your coach is about to get fired.

Anthony Aldridge Level - Eh you had potential but you couldn't even make the team

Maurice Clarret Level - You had all the talent in the world but emerged as a hack at the pro level

So now where is Ryan Torrain?

Good question on Torain. Shanahan was very high on him in Denver so we'll see.

Maybe thats a good thing for these players to be gone, cause they have not won with them. Its time to be a real franchise that builds through the draft, not buying free agents every year.
