Smoot Lays The Smack Down (sort of)

Now that Matty's finally lifted my ban I've got a few thoughts on the past 10 days

Sometimes a loss is just a loss, not some metaphor for greater forces at work.

Yes, losing to the rams sucks but it's just one game

I expressed concerns about Maake all summer and he's done nothing to alleviate them. He's just not healthy enough, I think signing him will prove to have been a big mistake

I expressed concerns about our linebackers all summer and while I think we've got some talent there it's an area that needs to be addressed. We seem to just have many athletes playing lb, but the mental element seems to be lacking

Katy Perry is not a whore

Still not sure why DT is not getting more playing time. I'm not buying Shanahan's reasoning. Shanahan's has said on record the best way to judge s player is in games so why not give DT in game opportunities? And Fred Davis too.

The LJ release reminds me in many ways of the Jeff George cut. Like it's supposed to be a shock to the whole locker room that a veteran was cut just two games into the season. They shouldn't have let him go in my opinion

ATV!!!!!!!!!

RIP Gloria Stuart

Feel bad for Dockery that he got benched but in retrospect maybe if wax s mistake to bring him back in the first place. No thought wax put into it, it sad just "hey fans we got an offensive lineman and Chris Samuels really wanted him!".

Maybe, just maybe, Sam Bradford is good

Brandon Banks on the practice squad is where he belongs for now

Portis' reasoning for dropping to the ground untouched after a long run was one of the more unique ones I've heard

Where's this year's Cutler vs Sanchez vs Campbell thread?

Heyer should never play LT. We'd have better luck with Aretha

Shanahan and Allens insistence being coy and vague about everything is confusing even their players and that's big allowing them to just relax and play

I'm certain we will win a game no one expects us to this year

But back to my original point, it was just one game on Sunday. The good teams and good coaches take bad losses (every team has them) and use them to grow closer in the locker room and stronger on the field...the bad ones gave to listen to bad jokes about bingo for the rest of the season

Maybe, just maybe, Sam Bradford is good

I'd like to smack down Sundberg for continuing to struggle on snaps.

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (sort of)

No doubt Bradford is good. He makes quicker decisions after 3 games than JC did after 3 years as a starter.

I'm still annoyed that Devin isn't getting his chance to shine on offense. Roydell Williams dropped a 3rd down reception on the sideline that would've moved the chains. Had it been Thomas, he probably would've been demoted to the practice squad by now. Given how hard Thomas is playing on special teams, I'm tired of Shanahan's head games - DT should at least get some packages as the #3 WR.

I'd like to smackdown Danny Smith for special teams play.

Smack down an offense that can't convert 3rd downs and a defense that can't prevent the opposition from converting.

Brought this up this year, and to my amazement no takers from Campbell supporters. Not really a big surprise.

F*ck our entire D-Line. Heyer you suck. Haslett needs to do a better job. Special teams are a clusterf*ck.

Redzone Offense and playcalling is poor from the wonder boy.

Bradford is going to be good. Even early on, he beat some of the blitzes. I think he got to Haslett's head, which is impressive. If Shanahan really wanted a WR, why did he not go for Amendola?

And an admin getting banned? o_0

I agree with this.

What was his reason? I haven't heard.

Said his hand hurt and he didn't want to get hit and fumble.

And I'm not an admin, just a humble mod...who will probably be banned again sometime in january

Bradford is going to be really good. I was very impressed with his poise and quick release. The kid is going to be special.

Yeah he is going to be great...it's not too hard to have a great though when the DC just blitzes all the time.

Screw that. We told him that if you take the check then you're going to have mod whenever we need you to. Weather it be week 2 or week 3. Of course once we need him he's no where to be found. BrudLee's a good mod but he's still recovering from a torn hard drive. Plus the Titans forum isn't giving us the amount of bandwidth we want to justify trading Smoot.

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (sort of)

Keiland Williams ... why is he playing the FB on the punt team? His total confusion gave the Rams the block. Wasn't Reed supposed to take over for Rock?

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (sort of)

Gotta cut Joey Galloway ASAP. If McNabb is not throwing to him and/or he cannot get open then we must play some young guys to find out if they have something. My guess is that Armstrong/Thomas/Banks/Austin could easily get 1 catch a game, which is what Joey is averaging, while at the same time gain valuable experience. Plus I don't think Joey is playing special teams which all of the others could do as well.

Andre Carter can't play LB. We already knew this but now it's so obvious. He looked like a stiff in space on that first Bradford TD. Whiffed bad on a open field tackle as well. We need another solution here. Start Lorenzo Alexander who seems to have a knack for plays. Maybe also take a look at Adalius Thomas?

Cooley and Davis. I heard a lot of things about using this unique combo in the offseason. Right now they just sound like a bad law firm in Bladensburg. This team needs a lot of parts. We have two good ones at TE. If we aren't gonna use them then, dare I say, unload one of them for a pick or player.

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (sort of)

Devin Thomas needs to get a chance to play. He has the ability, moreso than any other receiver besides Moss, start him the rest of the year and after this year if he doesnt get it done then let him go. I still think he will be good, perfect body for an NFL receiver.

You know prisoners when banned from society have a tendency to loose touch with reality/society and in a lot of cases need to be integrated slowly back into society. Say like a 24 hour lift here and a 24 hour lift there and slowly move up to 48 hours and on to 72 hours. No need to jump the gun and give free reign. lol.

JK.

so he did do his patented fall on his side on purpose.

does that mean all those other times he did the exact same move, it was also done on purpose?

why did CP take a "you have to ask the coach" attitude to his not getting touchs in the 2nd half if he knew the reason?
