Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
I think it is safe to say after the McNabb trade pretty much everyone had todays date circled on their calender. I literally had to beg my sister to move my niece's christening to another weekend for this game!
I really want a win today! Don't know how they will do it but I need it! |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
Philly isn't that great.. Their hot right now but only bcuz of Vick. If we can get a pass rush on them like GB we could have a legit shot.
On offense we have to score in the redzone, NO FGs! I think 5 has a great game today and we go 2-0 in the east... If not, I will admit this team is done.. Httr |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
Love the skins but don't see how we win this game. Unless our D comes out to play....WE LOOSE!
|
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
Eagles win this EASY!!!! It doesnt matter how good or bad our D plays, McNabb will not be able to execute without a balanced running game. I don't like Portis against the Eagles D. or any D for that matter.
Vick is legit, and has many weapons at his disposal. He will have a field day today. Yup, Im still a Redskins fan but just more realistic these days. Eagles 42 Redskins 17 |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
Anyone else looking forward to getting a 1:00 game already?
|
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
The soon to be annoited Superbowl Cowboys were going to kick our ass in the opener as well...that's why we play the game!
SKINS TAKE THIS THING...HTTR Sometimes when things look bad, and you ain't gonna' make it...you gotta' get mean...real mean--Josey Wales |

I'm not saying we win this game bcuz of Vick, I just don't think Philly has that great of a D. Green Bay and Detroit both shredded them on Defense. |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
I know we've got our issues, but don't buy the Vick/Eagles hype just yet.
As many "sit-downs" he does with the talking heads, I ain't buyin' this Vick "I'm a pocket passer" thing. Vick went against the Packers (no gameplan for him), the Lions (26th ranked scroing D) and Jags (29th ranked scoring D). His completion % in the last couple of games is 58.4%, not bad for him but not Brees/Manning-like. Granted it's still too early in the season to get a good read on team stats yet, but the Jags/Lions Ds aren't very good. Our 2-4-5 and 1-5-5 have good speed on the outside to help contain Vick without CB blitzes. I'm also not sold on Philly's run game, I see a couple big runs, but nothing consistent. We ease up on the blitzes, contain Vick and let's see if this "pocket passer" crap is for real.....I'm banking it ain't. On D, the Iggles gave up 32 to the Lions and shut down a completely inept Jags O. They ranked 20th in scoring D after those two and the Packers. They should be top 10 if they were really any good. McNabb knows their D after seeing it for 11 years. On offense we must establish the run early. See how the ZB scheme goes early, then get off it to a more power scheme if we don't get anything going. We've got to be more creative in formations/sets. 20+ of the 2TE-I ain't cuttin' it Kyle. Lets see some bunch, some Cooley/Davis flexed out with outside runs, use our TEs to create mismatches on the edges. Cooley/Davis aren't bangers, but they are quick and good in space. They also will create headaches for LBs trying to cover them in space. IF (big if) we can establish the run early, we should control this game. I think our D holds them under 21. Skins in the upset 27-20. |

I like the 4:00 games..............chill / relax and drink during the 1 oclock games then lose my f'ing mind and break shit around the house for the 4:00 game then apologize to my wife during the 8:00 game..........God i love NFL Sundays!!! |

Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
Slinging Sammy ably summarized my reasons for saying:
Skins 24 Pigeons 21 |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
Same old skins. Iggles 24 Skins 10.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
For me it's much better at 4. Less hassles from the wife plus (soon to be) 5 kids.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
I'm changing my predictions. It'll be a shoot out.
Eagles 37 Skins 35 |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
No Trent Williams again today. Looks like he'll be inactive along with Holliday, Barnes, Riley
|
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
Whatever the mind-set for todays game is, if it's good enough to deliver a win today, bottle it for the next three weeks.
No way the Eagles win this game today. there's no way I can possibly live with what's going to be said afterwards if they don't. It may be hard living if they do. |

Uggh, that's bad news. |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
Not only do I think we're going to lose, I think it's going to be pretty ugly unfortunately. I don't think we're anywhere close to a good football team. Eagles 31 Skins 14
|
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
No Williams? Cole is going to have a field day unless we keep a TE for help.

Not really seeing that it's next week against Green Bay! LOL That's going to be ugly. |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
If we can:
o sustain drives/ maintain time of possension: ---------a) be more effecient in the passing game (especially 3rd down) ---------b) establish some form of running game o convert RZ trips into TDs o win or tie in the turnover battle |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
Hmmm....lets see...our offense is ranked 31st in red zone scoring and the Eagles lead the league in sacks! LOL
Recipe for severe ugliness |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
I'm at the greene turtle, finishing a burger getting a second beer, watching the Ravens and getting ready to watch some Redskins football. Can't wait till game time!

Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
Someone please give me some good news and tell me that Jamaal Brown is starting at LT. Isn't this part of the reason we brought him here, where if anything happened to Trent we would have a viable option at LT?

Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
Sorry guys I can't remember, please tell me why we cut Willie Parker? Wasn't he a pretty good RB for the Steelers the last two seasons??? What happened?

The rams always play good against us. vick had a half against a banged up gb D that was no prepared for him and then great games against crappy teams, one that put up 32 on them. I think emotion alone should carry us over the top today, either way it's way too early to hang it up. |

But it's just like with shawn spring if he's great but always hurt what is his value? |

Raise your hand if you thought that by this point in the season Williams would have missed more games then Bradford...go ahead keep them up. Still, SO F-ING HAPPY that we're going to 18 games. This is something that the fans REALLY REALLY want and are EXCITED about. I know because Roger Goodell told me. Despite that fact that the strongest support from fans I can find on blogs is a shrug like "all right might as well." Even at the NFL fan forums Goodell didn't get one "I'm excited about the 18 game season comment. Rather it was all "don't you think more players will get hurt" questions. |

Banks will get playing time, sooooo happy! Man I can see him returning a punk or kickoff if they put him as a returner.
Time for Jackson to meet the REAL speed. |

I don't know what happened, but he sucked, plain and simple. Him and Johnson both couldn't do anything, yet Williams Torain and Portis could. No need for them. |

Thanks...I was out of the country for the preseason so couldn't keep up on what happened. |

Ahhhh, yeah, did you see what Johnson did against the Texans? Where he tried to pull a Barry Sanders? Yeah, that's basically what he and Parker did the entire preseason, minus maybe one or two good runs and by good I mean like 6-12 yards. I would say maybe it was us, but when Williams, Portis and Torain were doing better you really can't say it was that. |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
Umm, DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE SAINTS KNEELING, go to the Skins game...
