1500yd Season for Portis???

He's 6th in the league now with 928 yards. If he can average 115yds a game for the last 5 games, he will break 1500 yards.

That's great and he's a really good back, but the only problem is that he only has 2 rushing TDs all season... OUCH!!!

Still, I'm glad we have him!

Daseal 11-26-2004 09:28 AM

that last game really hurt his chances for 1500 yards. He'll be close, and I know he wants it. Hopefully Gibbs will give it to him, without sacrificing our powerfull passing attack...

MTK 11-26-2004 09:59 AM

sucks that stats is all we've got to play for at this point

celts32 11-26-2004 10:41 AM

I like Portis, but I still say we gave up to much for him. That can of worms has been opened up on this site many times before though so I didn't intend to reopen it.

randyredskin 11-26-2004 10:45 AM

Portis might get there but I doubt it. If he gets the ball atleast 30 times a game he can, but if the ball is only put in his hands 15-20 times it ain't gonna happen. The steelers are going to be all over his ass, and so will everybody else because we have no passing game.

heybigstar 11-26-2004 11:18 AM

This year, our O-line has been injured, out of sync, and has gotten numerous penalties ... Dont need to elaborate anymore on our passing game.... in spite of that, CP has a chance of getting 1500 yards

wolfeskins 11-26-2004 11:27 AM

look for portis to rush for 195 yards and 2 tds this week. look for ramsey to pass for 315 yards and 2 tds this week. the skins breakout game.
it could happen:D

NY_Skinsfan 11-26-2004 11:43 AM

I don't think he will get to 1500 yards this year. Last week I thought he might but after the Eagles game I don't see it happening...although I think he will come close. I think he will get the Redskins single season rushing record. What is it again? Stephen Davis with 1432 yards...something like that.

Now that's what I like to hear! ;-P

"without sacrificing our powerful passing attack."

I sense sarcasm, lol.

Luxorreb 11-26-2004 01:58 PM

Skins have 6 games left.

Bozzy 11-26-2004 02:01 PM

well if he averages 95 yards a game...with 170 againsst the niners...he may do it

GoSkins! 11-26-2004 06:38 PM

I hope he does. We only win when he goes over 100 yds so lets put it on him and see where it takes us. If we put Brunnel back in, he will get his chances! :joke:

VTSkins897 11-27-2004 02:16 AM

heck... save the wear n tear on him. this season is all about gettin ramsey up to speed and maybe some cohesion on our depleted o-line. i dont thin portis needs any work so hopefully he aint gettin 30 carries/game

bedlamVR 11-27-2004 07:11 AM

Watching the cowboys/bears game on thursday the commentators were talking about the Cowboys being a potential playoff team in the NFC with a 4-7 record so technically our season isn't ermm over...

That Guy 11-27-2004 08:12 PM

that dallas game was some bad football... i was sad to see them pull manning in the lions game after 6 tds though... figured they'd leave him in to chase the record... he could have gotten 10 TDs in that game easily...

We SHOULD matchup well against the Steelers and Eagles. The ingredient we are missing is a QB that can manage the game. Not that either can't, but they just haven't. The Steelers lost to the Ravens and we are in their mold right now. Force turnovers, play strong running football and manage to not give the game away on turnovers.

If we cut our mistakes in half I think we can beat both the Steelers and Eagles. That creates momentum to take us into the last 4 games. Win those, we are 9-7 and a wild card team in the NFC. There is a chance you will see a 8-8 or 7-9 NFC West champion (Seattle, St Louis) in the playoffs too.

kingerock, i love you. that is the wisest thing ive ever seen
