Well. That was great to wake up to. Nothing like wanting to blow chunks in the morning.

Re: Mmmmmm, chicken McNuggets

Since 1996 this is illegal in the US and UK. Laws were passed regarding mechanically seperated meat, specifically stating that it is unlawful to use it in food for human consumption.

Due to FSIS regulations enacted in 2004 to protect consumers against Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy, mechanically separated beef is considered inedible and is prohibited for use as human food. It is not permitted in hot dogs or any other processed product

Prior to 2004, the product could contain no more than 20% MSM, and even then it had to be labeled as containing it. Starting in 2004, it cannot be used at all for human food.

Only for beef is it illegal.

Looks delightful. Same stuff that goes into potted meat if I remember right. Remember potted meat and white bread sandwiches as a child.

Potted meat? Dare I even ask what that is? It just sounds horrible.

Re: Mmmmmm, chicken McNuggets

I make my own chicken nuggets for my family!

Take two pounds of breast meat (salt and pepper it) pound it out a bit to flatten it.

Then cube it up into nugget size bites.

Dip nuggets in Parmesan cheese then egg yolk then Italian panko bread crumbs and then back at 375 for like 15 20 minutes, turn once during cooking.

They freeze up well and are a good quick meal to pull from the freezer. My 2 year old loves them! Plus I can use all organic materials.

That sounds great. Any other great ideas for kids food. Do you salt and pepper before you pound it out?

Just to add after they come out I put them on wax paper on a large cooking pan and let them freeze that way if you just throw them in a bag right of the oven into the freezer you will just have a chicken beach ball not individual nuggets.

As far other kid friendly recipes I usually go her, I am not sure what your daughter likes but there are tons of options in here and all are very healthy!

I do it after otherwise you end up with the seasoning on your pounding tool, LOL!

Basically don't go crazy pounding it out your nuggets should end up looking like Chick Fil A's nuggets. They are not going to be all round and perfect like McDonald's McNugets.

I think I'm a fairly healthy guy nowadays... but I agree with you. The rare times I'm ever at a McD's, give me all that pink, Peeps-looking sludge with hot mustard sauce, please.

Is that freash Parmesan cheese or the kind that comes in a can you sprinkle over food.

That doesn't bother me at all. I don't care what they do to it. If it's not poisonous and they're able to squeeze a few more grams of usable meat out of a chicken, sign me up.

No, just cook the nuggets as usually then get a big zip lock bag and shake them in the sauce.
