"The defense is going to have to win this game now"


Then the defense got the interception and put the offense in position for the winning FG. But I feel that D-Mac was a key reason the skins won today because without that long TD pass, we are 2-3 right now. Much like last week it wasn't pretty but it's another win.

I'm pretty sure he was sweating bullets and hopping up and down in his seat writhing with anger wondering why we were playing a soft zone d against the Packers. He was also probably sure they were going to waltz down the field for the touchdown in OT too. Basically the same point as last week's thread.

I use to have a sixth sense that allowed me to determine when a QB was about to get picked off but it seems to have died down in recent years.

We won the game because Shanny coached well

and Mcnabb makes another HUGE play to Armstrong

Call me old fashion,call me conservative..call me whatever...

But if my football team is in your house on the road
and it's 4th down and 1 and I'm winning the game..I take the FG everytime...

We were down 10-0 in the 1st half and G.B. has the ball at our 1 yard line...
They go for it and Alexander makes a GREAT play and stops them on a pass...

You kick the FG in that situation and go up 13-0 (specially on the road)
G.B. goes in the half 13-3 and this game is very different.

To me this is a sign that teams don't respect us
teams are arrogant when playing us
and teams feel that our 31st defensive ranking, will eventually carry their offense to eventual victory...even when missing 4th and one's..

The point I'm making is this...
No matter how awesome or bad your Offense is,you take the points when it's there
You take what the defense gives you
Sometimes it's 3 pt's..sometimes it's 7

Some call this too conservative...some call this "playing not to lose"

I call it smart football!

We've only seen the Packers a few times in the last few decades. There's nothing to hate.

And I find it difficult to see the Pack going under 8-8.

On the contrary, I think many people respect the Pack and their organization. I know I do as they represent many of the good things about Pro Sports. I HATE the F...n cowboys..........

I dont think that at all, actually. I've always said that if I was not a Redskins fan, I'd probably be a Packers fan. I like that its owned by the public, I like the atmosphere in the town that I hear about, and how it basically shuts down for the Packers. So I think people will pull for Green Bay...

I dont hate the redskins though guys. You guys won and we lost. That one hurt but time to move on. Like I said the entire NFC North stinks except for the Bears. The packers and Vikings are in turmoil. The Lions are the lions but they are getting better. You guys in DC are great people. God bless.

Since this thread is title is in reference to punting,I have a question I want to see if anyone can answer and i didnt want to start a new thread about it.
How come when someone punts the ball{offense} when its touched by anyone on defense{lets say about the 20 yard line}and it continues to roll and is downed on the 5 yard line they bring it back to the spot it was first touched{20 yard line}.But if it is touched by defense{lets say 10 yard line}and it rolls into the endzone they call it a touchback instead of putting it on the 10 yard line? Ive never understood that
