OK guys! 3 more games until the BYE Week.
We got the Colts,@Bears and @Lions coming up.
We're 3-2 with a 2-0 Division record and a 3-1 Conference record. Colts=Our least important game to win of the 3 games is the Colts game because of the AFC matchup. However,it is a home game and it's important to win these games. A win here would be big, in starting a nice winning streak though. I wish I could say this game and winning will earn us respect, but apparently...the 1-3 Cowboys are still the beast of the East...lol...But if there's such a thing called a "statement" game, this would certainly do it in my eyes. Not to mention we would be on a 3-game winning streak. @Bears=This imo,is the most important game of the 3 games before the bye.Even if the bears have no passing game and Cutler is hurt, this is a very old rivalry game and you can expect a battle just like all our other games..The Bears are 4-1 and have a good chance of winning 10+ games. Even if they suck it up,but get a win here and there, they will more likely be at 8-8 or 9-7 with how fast they've started.I think their Defense is good enough to prevent a total collapse of 10 straight losses and so on. Which means if we are sitting there with that possible #5 or #6 seed or Division winning seeding, they will be there too and Head-to-Head matchups will play into who goes and who watches during playoff time or a 1st,2nd or 3rd seed. It's not a Must win game, but this game will be absolutely HUGE having tiebreakers over G.B. and the Bears in case there are identical records at the end of the season of either of these 2 NFC North teams. They go by head-to-head before ANY other criteria here. If we somehow slump and go 4-4 before the BYE...this is the #1 game we want guys of the 3! @Lions=This is a big game too just because we want to maintain our good Conference record. I think we can all agree, that this is no 0-16 Lions team here. They have really put up a bunch of points, but have come up short in games. I would not be surprised if we were to beat the Bears and then lose to the lions. Wouldn't surprise me all. But regardless of outcome,i don't see the Lions making the playoffs this year. This is a mirrored game much like the Rams game. So although I really want this game and this will be big for our record and conference record. If you were to ask me...which conference game would I take a loss in,that would have the least affect of our Playoff position or the playoff picture?...It would be this one. But i would rather win this one of course, over the Colts game as far as impact on importance though. I love this team and would love to win all 3 of these games. A 6-2 record going into the BYE week with a 2-0 Division record and a 5-1 Conference record would be awesome. After the Bye...We got the Monday Night rematch of Philly @ Redskins. Our 3rd Division game...and a week to prepare for it. lets do this HTTR!!:food-smil |

Ace, can I take a minute of your time. Just a minute. Thanks IT'S FRICKIN' MONDAY AFTER A GOOD WIN. COULDN'T THIS THREAD HAVE WAITED TILL WEDNESDAY or never. We have got lots of Positive/Negative threads. Wednesday Matty or someone will suggest carnal relations with a horse. And everyone knows what the upcoming schedule looks like (or heck they can look it up on ESPN/Fox/CBS if they don't) Anyway. You start a lot of threads, and sometimes, maybe it would fit in an existing one instead. BUT, That's just my opinion, and I know you are a big-time Skins fan, so knock yourself out. Thanks for the minute. |

And no,I didn't see it
|
Re: OK guys! 3 more games until the BYE Week.
Colts is a tough game only because Payton is on the field. I don't see us winning this game. Bears suck balls...everyone is on their dck. We can beat them. Lions just mauled the Rams. I fear them a lot only because the Redskins have propensity to have let down games against so-so teams.

Appreciate it. This week was a bad week for me on the pick'm though... I've been #1 on the Cowboys scout/rancher since week one,but I should slide after this week. I was also #1 on the extremeskins Pick'm contest, but i will slide because of this week as well. But oh well....I'm just glad we won! |

Agreed. Peyton could make mince-meat of our pass defense. The other games are winnable. Chicago's o-line is an offense to blocking right now. We should be able to pressure whoever starts for them which means we could end up putting Collins in the hospital or forcing Cutler to throw 3-4 picks. We'll see though. We do tend to play to our opponent's level quite fantastically. The Lions are an improved team but I would hope that the guys who were here last year are a little more motivated to put them down since we laid such an egg against last year. We win those 2 and lose the Indy game and we're 5-3 into the bye. I'd take it considering some of the teams we will have played. |

Here is a big told you so about starting retard threads, enjoy the flaming ACE!

Re: OK guys! 3 more games until the BYE Week.
What Jay Culter could do in Shanny's offense was execute the short passing game very well. We do not have that element here. Hopefully "not yet".

The day you say "Very nice thread ace...good job...good insight"..will be the day I become a MOD here..lol |
Re: OK guys! 3 more games until the BYE Week.
I expect Torain to break out against the Colts. Not only does their run D stink, the running game has excelled against or would have excelled against two 4-3 defenses this season(Eagles and Rams). The Texans game doesn't count because we didn't need to run.
|
Re: OK guys! 3 more games until the BYE Week.
NO COLTS TALK...please close this thread!

Re: OK guys! 3 more games until the BYE Week.
How did I know ACE started this?? ACE take it from a guy who has started multiple stupid threads over the 3 1/2 years I've been here. You gotta tone it down brother. Don't try to be the first to post everything. If it is worth talking about, 90% of the time the thread will be up and running before you log on. Doing this will get you a bad reputation very quickly.

Re: OK guys! 3 more games until the BYE Week.
I want to talk about the 2011 season opener. I think we'll win because we'll have an improved offense, defense, and special teams...lol. I don't know who we'll play yet, where the game will be, or if we'll even have one because of the potential lockout, but I still expect us to start the season 1-0...lol. HTTR!!!

Re: OK guys! 3 more games until the BYE Week.
Ok, here's my take...
Again I had us going 5-3 when we hit the bye week. Wins: Dallas Rams Eagles Bears Lions Losses: Houston Packers Colts That was my take on my 9-7 record. We lost to the Rams which we should not have and won against the Packers which I didn't count on. So now we are back on track. Colts: I don't think they are as good as yrs past. I think we can take them but it will be another hard faught game where we need to be hitting people. McNabb needs to get the players the ball and stop with the dirt balls as much as possible. Bears: I felt would be an easy win but they are looking tougher then I thought. This will be another hard faught game. Lions: I think we can take them. I hope we are 5-3 by the break and 6-2 would be awsome but I'd settle for 4-4 as well since all we did was win 4 games last yr anything more then 4 games is an improvement. |

I agree. Next year our offense will be even better and so will our defense. I don't think we will be an elite team early on next season but I do predict we will win next year's week 3 game by a thin margin over an elite team such as the Patriots and it will give everybody confidence that we are a great team. |

I'm thinking next year's Patriots will be slightly improved simply because they have stockpiled so many mid-round draft picks. Man, can't wait til next year, week 3. So looking forward to it. |

But what about week 8? If you don't win your midseason games you're making your late season games even tougher on the team. Alls I know is hopefully by week 8 of next season we'll know what kind of team we have on our hands. |
Re: OK guys! 3 more games until the BYE Week.
Ace dont mind the haters....I think we could be catching the next couple teams just at the right time.
1. Colts- that team is injury riddled and doesnt have their sh*t together yet so far this season. Better to get them now, on our field rather than down the road. 2. Chicago- Depending on the status of Cutler, it could be he first game back so he could be rusty. I think this is going to be one hellava ugly game. Rather play them now than in Soldier field late November, December. 3. Lions- Probably our toughest game of the 3 leading up to the bye. Away and with the Lions getting an extra week to prepare for us. The game after us will be the Jets coming into their building...will they be looking past us? Dont think so. |

Second, as you say about Chicago's game - it depends on Cutler's status, and who knows what the Lion's game depends on. Yes we all want to be 6-2 at the bye, but it's just a bit of a stretch to start this type thread at this time on this board. ES loves these tho' |

Re: OK guys! 3 more games until the BYE Week.
Why does everyone care so much about a thread being started? This is a forum page your supposed to talk about stuff... If you wanna talk about the next 3 games, talk about them. If you don't, don't. its that simple. No need to get on someone for starting a thread...

If you paid attention, Matty said NO threads like this until WEDNESDAY. That's when we look ahead to the next game. |

Ok, your somewhat new with only 58 posts so expect some flak. lol. So let me help you out... Why does everyone care so much about a thread being started in regards to the next 3 games? You all don't want to discuss it .... don't enter the thread. Live the moment, and come late Wed. or Thurs. after you have savoured last weeks win, show up and speak your mind. As I've said in the past, some one starts a thread and you don't have anything nice to say, either don't show up or don't post. Have a nice day. |

There's no need to start threads just to start threads.

I'd have more issue's with other threads before I'd have issues with this one. |

Its easily a valid thread. To say this is a look ahead to next game, well not really like the "Its effing whatever week" thread. Read the opening post. To the "enjoy our win for a day" before looking ahead. I think enjoying the win is what Ace is doing, being optomistic, looking at our position and the position of the upcoming opponents saying hey we could come out in a strong position looking at this and that... or should I enjoy the win by building an arguement why Haslett should be fired, why our FO sux because we let Lloyd go or why Devin Thomas is a bust? |
Re: OK guys! 3 more games until the BYE Week.
I have a good feeling about the Colts game, slightly worried that Forte will run all over us and hope we exact serious revenge on the Lions

I only put Fire Haslett in the thread title because I'm sure there were people on the board that felt that way. I started that thread as a way to vent over how bad we played on defense against a crappy Rams team. |

Very creative way to start a new thread. Keep up the hard work.

Re: OK guys! 3 more games until the BYE Week.
Personally, having squeaked in a win doesn't necessarily makes us dominant enough to predict any winning streak. The way that the NFL is going right now, it is very hard to make any predictions period, teams that were dominant one week sucked the next, and teams that sucked one win, manage a big win the next (see AZ and Oakland).
And once again, as someone said staring a thread just to start a thread is just stupid. |
