Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
Ok, today sucked... so much. But, really, I think most of us knew it could go either way.
Brandon Banks however, single-handedly kept us in the game and brought an element to this team that has been missing since the days of Brian Mitchell. I can't believe a 5'5" 155lb dude could play that huge, but you have to give it up for his performance today. |
Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
He's absolutely electric.
|
Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
no doubt. also i love his attitude during interviews. so humble and seems like a genuinely good guy. very likable. huge improvement over ARE on punt returns, and on kick returns.
|
Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
He should have had more, gotta stop the dumb penalties!
|
Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
Man, I love that guy. Even in this fiasco, they started punting AWAY from him, Hester-style. I'm impressed.
|
Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
Banks is the man.

I can't remember the last time I saw a team kickoff that short on purpose. They were dropping it at the 30 yard line. That's a hell of a concession to make. |
Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
Told ya all...
|
Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
We all knew this ace
|
Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
Id like to see him in the backfield or at least in the slot...shit, with this pathetic garbage-of-an-offense anything is worth trying at this point
|

Then we will find out otherwise,if we bump the "Banks is promoted to active roster" or "banks is released...might pass waivers" threads and check those replies... Not EVERYONE was on board then... I thought he should have been on the active Roster from games 1... We're VERY lucky he passed waivers imo..VERY lucky..(I think I said that too in then the replies) that was the 1st time I've 2nd guessed Shanny... And from what I've heard..good thing I didn't get to watch this game as well... |
Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
I was concerned about the fumbling issue he had in the preseason, but he's cleaned that up.

though he did fumble the first kickoff last week and dropped one punt today i believe. |
Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
Didn't he also have a return called back today as well...
I thought I heard that.. |
Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
Didn't he also have a return called back today as well...
I thought I heard that..
Yup. Reed Doughty called for a block in the back. BB can flat out sail. He's gotta be the fastest Redskin since Darrel Green. |
I was concerned about the fumbling issue he had in the preseason, but he's cleaned that up.
Well, to be fair he did put one on the ground last week. Along with every other player on both teams. |

Actually saden told us all |
Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
I'd like to see young Shanny try to get Banks 3-5 touches a game on offense. The little man is a revelation.

Couldn't hurt. If anything, those quick screens don't put too much pressure on the O-line to hold blocks. |
Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
Should have had 2 TD's today if not for those penalties. On another theme, if Austin is promoted I feel our WR corp could get better.
|
Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
Brandon Banks is hungry after not getting drafted out of Kansas State, where he was 1 of the top KR in the NCAA. How do these so called pro scouts let this guy go undrafted. Banks is our biggest playmaker and I wish we give him a chance on offense a few times a game. Galloway is done he is taking up a spot that and we get no production from our #3 WR during the game.
|
Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
@Skins89moss: It's easy to overlook him at Kansas State when he's 5'7 and 150 pounds, even today I bet most guys won't think he'll be able to take the pounding from an NFL game very long. So far he's defied the odds and he is a huge weapon on special teams. I'm glad he didn't get taken from us when we put him on the practice squad, because that kid is electrifying.

Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
i created this kid on madden as soon as i got it. big big big fan

He's obviously going to fumble once in a while, just saying it's not the problem it was during the preseason where just fielding a kick was an adventure. |

I'm wondering if we'll see a lot more of this in the future. Would be nice to have such a weapon that we'll see people kicking off out-of-bounds on accident. |
Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
Without BBanks16 in the field yesterday, we might have been blown out.
|
No question, Banks is definitely an electrify player.. But i'm still wary of his fumbling problems.. I want to give him a few games to prove himself before we give him the starter spot permanently..

Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
Need to get him on the field more. Total 100% game breaker.

They don't necessarily need to get him on the field more, they just need to be smarter about when they do. He needs to be used in open space, not as a decoy on 2nd and goal from the 6 yard line |

He needs to put on 20 to 30 pounds or he might get killed out there. But I agree, he needs to get touches on offense. |

Brandon Banks has the second most yards and the third highest average for punt returns this season. He is an enormous improvement over Antwaan Randle El.

I totally agree. This kid is a total x-factor. Hopefully we can exploit his talent to the fullest, i.e. The mismatch/situational plays where we can Put Banks in space to capitalize on his speed. I envision a Trendon Holiday from L.S.U. type of use. A true special teamer, with his speed/shiftiness, and have a set of plays in the gameplan to be used as a weapon on offense. (reverses, stretch plays/go routes, or screens to the outside to use his speed.) With his frame size, I don't believe he is a starter in this league at wr, but his value is great if we can keep him from getting killed across the middle like Desean Jackson, he can make some plays that only he can make. In other words: you can't teach speed, speed kills, and this guy is a lethal weapon. Use him correctly and he can be a great asset for us. |
Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
Good piece today on Banks at ESPN's NFL homepage. Sorry, posting from phone, unable to attach link.

Re: Brandon Banks is the f-ing man.
Nice to see him return one. Would have been nice to see him get it in a win. He will win us a game down the road.

A little too short for anything other than a screen or end-around. Bombing it deep to him is like hitting an ant with a catapult from six miles away. He is fast enough but it would take some skill to get him the ball deep. |

Banks just had surgery and could miss big game v. Philly.
