On the Harrison run Daniels gets knocked off the ball 5 yards. Why is he even on this team? Then Orakpp can't get off his block and neither can Rocky. Then Moore and Hall look like little girls trying to make a tackle. Total 100% fail on that play

im as big of a DS hater as there is but i dont see anything new in the article to re-flame him.

im embarrassed by DS for the things like tampering with AH, cutting his trees for a view of the potomac, countless stories of him treating common folk like menions, firing the entire secretary staff when he first took over, when he was invited to raven owner steve bishocetti's (sp?) house as steve greeted dan he said "welcome dan" dan said "call me Mr. Snyder", steve said "GTFO of my house", putting a mom n pop hardware store out of biz under the guise of public safety and he bought a town board member b/c they were letting people park there to go to six flags, him going to college player work outs and making player decisions, etc .... we've heard all these rumors and stories.

but all that is old news, its in the past. so far i have no reason or evidence, nor does the article, that DS had anything to do with the re-signing of mcnabb except inuendo that we typically under DS try and make headline news before big games since the nat'l media spot light is on us at that time.

he maximizes his profit line but hes been a good boy so far with no evidence to prove otherwise thus far.

I am confused how he came up with these things to blast Snyder on.

This Snyder blame game is ridiculous. In the past it certainly held some water, but not now.

Waiting to give DM a new deal was absolutely the right call. Now instead of being locked in with him, we have an easy out with little financial damage. But in the end you know what, this is on Allen, not Snyder. And I give credit to him for handling it the right way.

Snyder didn't try to deal away AH. Nor did he change defenses, and he wasn't coaching on the sidelines last night last I checked.

Sorry but it's a hack job of an article.

If I wrote that article I would be flat out embarrassed by it seeing as how one of the central new arguments about Snyder's ongoing ineptitude "because he supposedly gave McNabb some ridiculous overblown contract" is refuted in a report on the same homepage.

They're going to need the length of their contract at least. Remember the first fire someone thread [Haslett] was after the first loss, that gives you an idea of what you're dealing with.

Yeah, people need to remember last year free agency was limited so we really couldnt get "Shanny's offense guys" or 3-4 defense guys. We cut alot of dead contract weight and some age...I fully expect after the season to go out and get more guys who fit the scheme. This team wasnt a playoff team coming into this year...lets see how everything plays out down the stretch...sh*t were just 2 games outside first place...

Re: Chainsaw Dan Snyder
More than half a season would certainly be nice.
he already had half a season! we should be on top of the division by now! fire em all!

seriously though snyder will never escape the criticism until he wins and then once he wins then there will be criticism until we win a superbowl. he gets criticism some of which is deserved and some of which is just mis or uninformed. that said there is no if and or buts he is the person who put this team in the position it is in, which is losers. he for ten years has controlled the decisions that this team has made and the majority of the decisions were bad ones without regaurd for the future of the team.

now though it appears as if he finally gets it and is trying to make right by getting football guys which he has done in bruce allen and mike shanahan. we finally drafted by need and not the bpa or whatever crazy scheme vinny had. and he is trying to make fedex more fan friendly(which is a lost cause). all in all i would say snyder has been making good strides in the past few months, but only time will tell where this franchise will end up. i just don't know how many more season i can take of this.

Don't talk about fan desertion unless you've already dumped them.

For example, I realized that I have canned the Craps for the might Habs for good recently, and it ain't changing.

Seriously man don't make idle threats. Just go root for the Pats and their winning blue collar ways. At least you won't have to suffer through games like last night's like the rest of us diehards. Don't sit here and debate whether to leave, just do it. Nobody likes a guy who debates renouncing his fandom when the going gets tough.

I don't see the comparison? Marty wanted to stay as long as he had more control and if I'm not mistaken he wanted Cerrato gone. DS chose his boy Cerrato over Marty.

In this case Cerrato is gone, we have a totally different GM trying to do what Cerrato couldn't, and we have a HC who also holds the title of president so even DS decided it best to give Shanahan the extra power.

MTK 11-17-2010 08:48 AM

Re: Chainsaw Dan Snyder

Cerrato was already gone when Marty was here, he canned him the second he walked in the door. Snyder fired Marty because he had a man crush on Spurrier. Taking back control from Marty was just a power play on Snyder's part to make sure Marty wouldn't want to come back.

As long as Danny sticks to his word and leaves football operations up to Allen and Shanahan, those guys aren't going anywhere.

Damn, and we call Al Davis and JJ the worst owners? They have rings.

Bakerman 11-17-2010 10:08 AM

Re: Chainsaw Dan Snyder

So far this year DS has been true to his word. He has taken some degree of accountability for his past mistakes. Not full disclosure mind you but some responsibility. I think he has learned finally to let the football guys run the team.

Regarding Monday night we just plain out got our asses whomped by a younger quicker team. Who have a quarterback playing off the charts. To fix our team is gonna take YEARS. If we continue with the quick fix solution our beloved Redskins will never be anything better than a middle of the pack team.

Also if you feel the need to threaten changing your support for the team because of ONE LOSS. You have already caved- move on to another team with a transient fan base, like the Cowboys. There is a team that needs more spineless fair weather fans. If you love something NOTHING will change your support. Either man up and gut it out like most of the true Redskins fans or take a hike. HTTR!

nothing to say from this long detailed article but wow!

andyman whom extreme wets themselves over as an "inside source" was really karl swanson and some of his henchmen.

DS sold year old airline peanuts at the stadium when the peanuts had a 3 month shelf life?

he forged names with his telecommunication company?

those tress he cut down werent on his property but federally proteced lands?

WOW!

edit - bakerman are you andyman's brother? sorry gotta ask.

Re: Chainsaw Dan Snyder

Andyman = Swanson was no big secret, nor was it very hard to figure out.

Gotta say though this dumping on Snyder right now is really uncalled for. And alot of the criticisms in that article can't be pinned directly on him and are petty gripes. For instance Gibbs wanted Saunders, it's not like Snyder brought him in and forced him upon Gibbs.

There's way more to blame Snyder for than to not blame him for.

People are hesitant to trust him. He has mostly been a horrible owner in his time here. He knows little about football. 1 season where he is trying to do the right things is not enough for some of us to forgive him just yet.

He has single handedly killed a once respected and beloved franchise. No other person besides maybe the senile Al Davis has done such a thing...

ROFL. Well if Snyder brings in a Doctors note* claiming he is senile would we forgive him?

I usually really enjoy reading Gregg Easterbrook's column, but this one really ticked me off. Last year he went on a rant calling for Snyder to hire a true GM, he did, and now Gregg is still saying he is tearing this team apart. I know realize why some younger fans are expecting the win now scenario from the new leaders of the organization, they get it from the freakn media. I saved this article because next season, or the one after, when the Redskins are top contenders, I am going to email Easterbrook and call him on this crap.
