2011 NFL Draft
This season appears to be over for us at this point even though we're still in the hunt. Anyway, where do you guys think we should go in the draft?

Re: 2011 NFL Draft

We'll let you know in January. Have a little faith in the meantime.

I'm just being honest about our situation. Right now, our team is getting worse with each week. Our oline sucks, our qb suck, our rbs suck, our wrs suck, our dline sucks, our lbs suck, and a secondary suck. The 4 games that we won was by skin or our teeth to bad football teams. So forgive me if I have lost faith in us turning it around this season. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
Have at it.
WalterFootball.com: 2011 NFL Mock Draft Not much we can do for immediate help Draft-wise, we've got our 1 & 2, but our 3 & 4 are gone. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
I say we get Mark Ingram with our first, rodney hudson (G/C best zone blocker in years) in the second or Jerrell Powe NT Ole Miss.
We'll probably sign Vincent Jackson in the offseason. |

 |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
Not that I'm thinking aobut the draft...but I'd love AJ Green.
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
Theres a fine line between hope and dilusion. We just dont cut it this year. I KNOW you all will hate me for saying this but because I think this year is a waste as it is, I'll be rooting for loses for a high draft pick next year. Tuesday morning I started my draft research.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
I say we trade cooley for 2 picks to a team who needs a great TE.
I love cooley, but we need ot rebuild, and he's the only one on our team that has any value to him, and we can afford to lose becuase we have a great backup |

I'd love to draft him too, but he said he's coming back to UGA for his senior year, said he owed it to the program and the fans, after the whole jersey scandal. |

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
What sucks is.... Everything the real talent evaluators are saying is that Andrew Luck is the best QB prespect in 25 years (Elway)...
I KNOW we need O-Line... but man It'd be nice for us to have our own Manning / Brady / Rivers / Roethlisberger / Ryan / Sanchez / Flacco / Bradford / Schaub / Stafford ... something we've NEVER had .... a guy we draft and he becomes our franchise QB and face of the Redskins that is ours for 8-12 years.... just saying. Think the Bills will take McNabb and our 1st rounder for their pick? hahaha |

you have got to be kidding me, who the hell would trade us anythhing for hanyesworth after his performance thus far? he has shown his true colors time and time again, someone whos has the ability, but lacks the discipline. and what would we get for mcnabb, certainly not a 2nd as far as tradeable players i would say landry and cooley would be atop the list but i would rather keep them and try and get young free agents and keep the core guys we have groomed |

Landry? Andre Carter as a DE? |

We've been through this. Carter is not going to fetch any draft picks. Landry on the other hand is going no where. Let's ease up on the fantasy football people. |

Unfortunately this whole 3-4 debacle has made him cheap goods, so the team will have to settle for low compensation. I would rather see him get traded for a low round pick, rather than than to cut him. |

Agreed, which is why I said players that are tradeable and not some fantasy/Madden idea. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
I don't think we're quite out of it yet, but I always like to talk draft, and as usual, I'll say draft O-linemen early and often. Shanny has proven that he can win with pedestrian RBs once his O-line is solid.

I mean you said Chad's over the top rant and rave reflected your thoughts yet now you're saying keep the faith. Doesn't seem like someone would be saying keep the faith so shortly after saying give me my damn money back As for the draft, I think they go DE in the first round (depending on where they draft) and I'm going to start touting Ponder in the 2nd round As for WR, I'm curious to know what their plans for Austin are, I know they still have very high hopes for Kelly, and they'll certainly pursue Vincent Jackson As for the OL, i think Capers and or Cook is elevated to the active roster. The big questions are on the right side-will Brown be healthy and will we hold onto him, and one that we have all forgotten about, is Big Mike Williams ready to come back and reclaim his starting RG job. All indications are that he may just be |

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
McNabb isnt going to be the trade bait you think he is. If finishes out this horrible season like he began it, value isn't going to be high on a 35 year old QB coming off a horrible season.
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
Andrew Luck is supposed to be as good of a prospect as John Elway was. I haven't seen him play at all, but that's whats out there. As near as a can't miss as you can get.

Not sure there is a good NT in the 1st round On a separate note, as solid as Luck may appear I think it's safe to say the Elway comparisons are only because they both went to Stanford |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
They may also look to go DB depending on what happens with Rogers, and even Landry and Buchanan

Are giving homage to Greg Oden for again ending a season early. Talk about bad luck, I was thinking about starting a thread on it. |

Seriously ... landry44, you need to come up with something more substantive for a thread that being said, I think OL :cheeky-sm |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
The Skins have holes everywhere and have limited draft picks. That's our problem every year. We need more draft picks. Obviously OL is our biggest concern. On offense we have major needs to fill at RB and WR as well. On defense, DL, LB, and secondary all need to be addressed.

Man, I don't even want to think about that, the deficit just keeps getting deeper! What's up w/Landry? I thought his deal was for 5-6 years. Funny you mention him cause this week I've thought that Shanny would probably trade him in the offseason if he got the right offer. I bet Shan was pretty pissed at the trash talk before the game, and his general attitude isn't conducive to Shan's style. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
Don't know who were picking but I can tell you one thing if the right team comes by and offers us enough picks we will be trading out of the 1st rd. We need smart young fast players.

Minnesota, even if Childress is gone, the owner is in win now mode. It doesn't help that they wasted a 3rd on Moss, but they may have been willing to give up more than us for McNabb had Farve retired. Now it really looks like Farve will retire. Could make for some interesting deals. I would love to see McNabb traded to Minn. a la Herschel Walker from Dallas in 89! McNabb turns 34 soon I believe, so he'll be 34 all offseason. |
