How depressing....
Hola fellas, long-time no see.
Anyways, went to the game yesterday. My little brother lives in Fredericksburg, so I made the trip down Saturday Night. For starters, whoever designed the parking situation should be sentenced to death by Chinese Water Drip torture. What a nightmare to get back to the damn Apollo lots. Who the hell puts a church right next to the damn stadium?????? As for the game, I have never seen my team play so poorly. Couldn't even get excited about the TD return. It is one thing to lose, another to get man-handled on both sides of the ball by a 3-8 team. As for the crowd, I was amused. Some of your brethren were acting like they won the Super Bowl rather than a 5-7 team in the midst of a 5-game losing streak who is missing their 2 best defensive players (strahan and wilson). |
Toss the midget!

So we are at least 2 up on your "injury" excuse! |
nicely said backrow

No excuses. We flat beat the hell out of you guys. It's not our fault that your coach already tossed in the towel for the rest of the season by starting your "prized" rookie QB. Give us some credit. We went out and dominated on all phazes. Shoot even after 7 turnovers the first time we played we still had a chance to beat you guys. Oh, and about our wonderful stadium. It's ours, we don't "share" it with any other teams in the NFL. And don't hate on us for celebrating a win. I bet you guys were jumping for joy when you won your 4th game. By the way that was your last win for that season too.... |
check the standings, we have FIVE WINS!!!!!!!!!
Yes, the skins dominated, not denying that, but to see fans of a 4-8 team act as if they won the Super Bowl is entertaining. You're right, backrow I did not realize your injury situation. Well, except Arrington. It was one lousy team dominating another. Redskins_P, I'll take our prized-rookie over anything you have to look forward to in the coming years. |

Just don't expect your team to be good for a while. I believe Eli Manning is going be good, but it's going to take some time. Maybe a couple of years. I think we have alot to look forward to in the coming years. Our team is starting to show positive signs for the years to come. We have Portis locked in for another 7 years, and Ramsey is finally starting to show that he's maturing. Plus, we have a dominate defense that doesn't get enough credit because of our shitty record. Nothing personal dogg, but our future look much better than yours. |
Eli = Bust
I think Ade Jimoh is more of a "shutdown corner" than Eli will ever be an "elite QB." I am seriously going to enjoy the next five years of Eli dragging the Gints into the bottom of the NFL. |
Eli = Bust

Skins fans have been saying this for the past 5 years!!!!!!! If it is not the free agents, it is the new coach who is going to change things (shoettenheimer, SPURRIER, Gibbs), now it is Portis and Ramsey? Not sure how long you have been around here, but mattyk and all the old-timers can verify I have been around off-and-on since this site was a Yahoo Club, and I have seen the hope in Redskins fans every year. When I go to see my brother I always make it a point to listed to as much sports-talk radio as I can find to hear all the skins fans' optimism.
Ade, explain to me how Eli is a bust. Note: being the top pick overall and being the future QB of a rival does not qualify as evidence that he is going to be a bust. If the Giants took Roethelliswhyismynamesodamnlongberger and Eli was 11-1 with the Steelers, you'd be saying Ben is a bust and the Giants should have taken Eli. Come on, enlighten me. |

What's wrong with being optimistic? And what makes you think that Eli and Coughlin are going to turn things around in the big apple anytime soon? Please, the media will run those guys out of town before they'll ever be successful. |

I think your wrong about saying we dont have anything to look forward too, for once somthing we have to look forward to is taking place on the feild and not in the papers. We have a top 3 defense in this league. Period. I'm really excited about that, because we only have one guy who's gonna be a free agent and I think were gonna resign him. I'm excited to have that back, and they have shown me why I should be excited on the feild, every single week, without faulter. I should be excited about that. I'm excited to have Patrick Ramsey next year. I think he showed yesterday what he CAN do. Not what hes going to do each week, but he defintley proved he has matured a little bit, and you can see that he manages games better and has a better feel for the game. I'm optomistic and excited about Clinton Portis, he's a very good running back. Now while the offense has only shown flashes, I'm still excited as hell, because I think they can put it together. I'm not going to tell you, that the Giants dont have better days ahead, because they do, they have alot of young raw talent, mixed in with some good vets, and they are going to get better. But dont try to tell us that we arent a improving team, and have because we are. |
Ade, explain to me how Eli is a bust. Come on, enlighten me.
Bust. (bu-st) n. A NFL player who is picked too high in the draft just because his brother was successful and they slept in the same bunkbeds as kids. (sentence: "Man, I can't believe that NY wasted all of those draft picks on that arrogant a-hole Eli Manning - what a freakin' bust.") See also: Ryan Leaf, Heath Shuler. Bust. n. 2. Aka. "Rack." The upper torso region of a woman (preferably age 18-20) or your average NFL offensive lineman. Consider yourself enlightened. |
The media will run them out of town? I love how people from outside of New York think the NY media is the big evil bully who pushes around the athletes. If the MEDIA had their way, Fassell would have been fired in 1998, and Joe Torre would have never been hired. The Giants and Jets do not have the same media situation as the Mets and Yanks.

You are calling him a bust because he was picked by the Giants, end of story. |
How should the crowd act during a thumping of a division rival? I guess they should have just sat on their hands and said, yeah today is great but remember we're only 4-8 now. I'm sure the blowhards in Giants stadium wouldn't get excited over a big win.
I don't care what the records are, a home crowd in that situation is always going to be pumped up, if they aren't there's a serious problem. The Skins have been struggling mightily on offense, the fans have been waiting for a day like this all year, let us enjoy the moment, who cares what the records are. |

As far as manning is concerned, way, way too early to tell whether he'll be a bust or not,he has been facing some excellent defenses and your right ,we have been saying wait till next yr for 5 yrs,but hell, what else are we gonna say? but at least you've had another coach take ya'll to the superbowl since parcells,I wish we could say that since gibb's left |
While Eli is a rookie with a lot of potential, dont forget the Redskins have a rookie
with just as much potential on the defensive side of the ball in Sean Taylor. He is the same size as the Giants greatest player of all time, Lawerence Taylor, he is only 21, and HE PLAYS SAFETY.... The redskins have some good things going.... |
You have Sean Taylor and Gibril Wilson the Giants 3rd round selection at safety has had a better season. What is your point?
matty, I know what you are saying. It was a powder keg that finally exploded. It was still entertaining!!!! |
Can I just ask cogg who exactly rattled your cage? You go on about fans whooping and a hollaring and beating their chest but this was the game we have been waiting for all year. If the Giants had dominated in the same way are you saying they would just shrug thier collective shoulders and make thier way quietly to the exit?

noone got in my face or anything like that. Just saying it was funny to see fans going crazy when the bottom line is their team is 4-8. That's all.
noone got in my face or anything like that. Just saying it was funny to see fans going crazy when the bottom line is their team is 4-8. That's all.
Bottom line is we haven't scored over 18 points all season, and since we did that in one half against your team we were excited. We're real fans here that care about our team and no matter how we win or what our record is, we will always be excited about a win. Especially a win against our division rival. |
noone got in my face or anything like that. Just saying it was funny to see fans going crazy when the bottom line is their team is 4-8. That's all.
so everyone who made their way to the stadium and payed for tickets should have just chilled out right? 20yr waiting list for season tickets. most profitable sports team period. DC fans buy out every single game regardless of the record. and thats the largest stadium in the NFL too. there's a very special loyalty around the Redskins, something that is certainly not in the fans here in NY. |

matty, I know what you are saying. It was a powder keg that finally exploded. Taylor 58 tackles, 1 sack, 3 INTS Wilson 55 tackles, 3 sacks, 3 INTS No that much of a difference except the fact that Taylor plays for a top ranked defense where everyone can make a play. Including our boy Griffin. Boy did you guys need him yesterday. |
noone got in my face or anything like that. Just saying it was funny to see fans going crazy when the bottom line is their team is 4-8. That's all.
Hhhmmm...well that 4-8 team sure made your 5-7 team look a junior varsity high school team....and that is giving the Giants alot of credit. At the rate the Giants are going, they'll probably not win a game the rest of the season. |
there's a very unique loyalty around the Redskins, something i don't feel any teams here in fickle NY have.
So, the 40+ year waiting list for Giants season tixx, is fickle? Every seat for the Giants (77,000) is a season-ticket. The Giants owenership is investigating whether they should renovate Giants stadium or build a new stadium on the same site. If they build a 90,000 seat stadium, the additional 13,000 seats would be sold in no time. The 15 year list for the jets is fickle? Do not compare the towns. New York supports 2 teams in every sport, 3 in hockey. The Skins are the only team with a following in the DC area. From what I have been told/seen noone cares about the Capitals and Wizards.
|
Gibril Wilson also won Defensive Rookie of the Month for October.

WAAAAAAAAAAH! DAAAAD! I don't want to go to the Chargers! DAAAAAAD!! DO SOMETHING!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! I'm going to tell Peyton on you guys!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

I dunno, maybe you should go on a forum board for either the Capitals or Wizards and see for yourself. After all you do realize this is a Redskins forum board not a Capitals or Wizards forum board. |

Who gives a crap??? This is the December. I'm sure Wilson has been long forgotten by now. |
noone got in my face or anything like that. Just saying it was funny to see fans going crazy when the bottom line is their team is 4-8. That's all.
We were going crazy in the stadium celebrating?? Wow considering alot of people did not show up due to the fact we were having a poor season and the fact we were playing the Giants. And alot of fans seem to have left because the game was in hand at 1/2 time. MMMMMM guess you have not been a witness to celebrations with New York much if you call that celebrating. I seem to recall the openning day when none of this mattered except we had a packed house of 92,000 strong who celebrated a bit louder over that win. Don't give us that much credit for celebrating so loud please. And by the way didn't your star pro bowl back have 38 yards against a no name defense of back ups? Face the fact you were crushed. |
From what I have been told/seen noone cares about the Capitals and Wizards.
My brother and I have season tickets to the Wizards, so that's two people who care... and don't forget DC is home to DC United, MLS Soccer Champs!!! |
New York supports 2 teams in every sport, 3 in hockey.
So you are like every other New York Sports fan. You only support the team that is winning. How cool a choice of more then 1. Should we cheer for the Ravens because I live in Maryland and the stadium is in Maryland? NO WAY!!! I and many others on this site prefer to stick with one team, the burgundy and gold. New york has a lager population so naturally you would have a longer wait. But that means more fighting for who builds and where a new stadium goes. Till then 92,000 with a $91.00 ticket price average (Do our fans have more money?) trumps your old outdated stadium. Please stick to the game stuff though because you guys (the giants if that is your team of the moment) got CRUSHED!!! |
Uhm, crt i do not know what the hell you are talking about. Everyone on here who knows me from the Old Yahoo days knows I am a 1 team person. Giants, Rangers, and Mets. The poster mentioned the passion for the skins vs the giants and I brought up some facts about NYC-area teams.
I was also in the building the day the Giants destroyed the Vikings in the NFC championship game, I was there when they clinched the division against the skins in 97, and was in Mid-town the night the Rangers won the Cup. Believe me, I have seen celebrations for which you could only fantasize. |

We don't wanna hear about your bathroom activities. :nono: |
Okay cogg you say no-one got in your face so you just thought you would come over here onto our board. You could have been here to offer props in a good natured way, you could have come here and complained about bad decisions in the game... hell you could have come to make excuses quite legitimatly abut injuries, Eli's second start etc. etc. But no you come to do nothing else but stir up a shit storm ... goes to show just what kind of a fan you are and indeed what kind of a looser you are......looser in the sence that you support a football team that lost the game yesterday ...

Your comment I believe was "Do not compare towns". Why would we try. We are comparing teams not towns here. Glad you got to go to a NFC championship but as you can tell we are building for multiple Super Bowls. I am a old RFK guy and have seen my fair share of celebrating, that yesterday was just a few people being happy about a victory even over a talent less team. As far a hockey and basketball, we support our home town team and go to the games but unfortuntaly they have deprived us of some championship caliber teams. But make no mistake the kings of this town are and will always be the REDSKINS. And when we CRUSH a opponet especially a NFC east opponet expect a few to enjoy and celebrate |

Oh, I came here to cause a shit storm. Right. I simply came here to comment on what I saw. I do not need to make excuses for my team. They played like $h!t, and that is it. What kind of fan I am? Well, if I wanted to be a prick I would have been here in September when the Giants beat the Skins at the Meadowlands. |
Umm all I am gonna say is 31-7 speaks for itself....
