Jerry Jones Super Bowl Off To A Rough Start
Workers injured as ice falls from stadium and 100's of flights canceled. I love how everything seems to be going just as bad as their season.

Wow, lessseee now, host an event that generates in excess of 300 million dollars in local revenue. When was the last time Dan Snyder hosted and an event that pumped over 300 million into the local economy? And not an over-the-hill veteran free agent?

It's bullshit if you ask me there should be more Super Bowls played in the cold. Football is a cold weather sport. I seriously doubt that there would be a drop off in attendance if the Super Bowl was held in D.C., Pittsburgh, or NY... |

New Orleans should be the permanent home of the Super Bowl. Its a great party town and the party is a short walk from the stadium. The weather is good enough for the fans and the stadium is a dome so the weather wont mess up the game.

Matter of fact all we have this weekend is rain. So technically the SB would have been ok in the "cold" weather climates right now. Plus I don't think it's supposed to rain or snow tomorrow in DC. About the only thing the fans would have had to worry about is the rain spoiling any outside events but the bars, momuments, and musiums would be open. |

I guess Dallas (Arlington) will now be seen as a cold-weather city and will not host a Super Bowl again. So sad

The Game in NY 2014 people already know it will be an "OUTDOOR EVENT" and be prepared! Also I doubt the Giants will try to jack #'s up with outdoor tickets to watch on TV's out side the stadium, any and ALL Cowboy fans should be embarrassed with the way Jery Jones produce that thing......thank God the game was good. |

LOL @ Jerrah |
Re: Jerry Jones Super Bowl Off To A Rough Start
I have to say, from a pure "I hate Dallas" standpoint, this season & SB was everything one could ask for. Far from Dallas playing a home SB as was the full court press in Spring of last year, they started 1-6, and then even the SB was a mess; ice and snow, seating not completed (although Cowboy fans will say that's the NFL's fault, not Jerrah's), falling short of the attendance record, and Pittsburgh/Packers playing in the game (only an NFC East opponent would have been more upsetting to them, maybe SF). Honestly, this season was pure misery for the Cowboys and JJ.

Just put yourself in their shoes. I woulda killed someone, literally killed. Just the excitment alone of the thought I was attending a Redskins superbowl would be simply be incredible and then to be told my seats were un-sit-able. I doubt I could control myself and I am moderately laid back person. Livid...someone may have died if that was me, I woulda had to do alot of apologizing the today, ohhh and I woulda been probably 8-10 Laganitis IPAs deep. An arrest woulda been made. |
Re: Jerry Jones Super Bowl Off To A Rough Start
I honestly can't believe people paid to watch the game from the parking lot. Talk about milking an event for all it's worth.

That was f'ing insane. I wonder if those people were locals...I hope so, it'd be reaaaaally stupid for someone to travel to Texas just to watch the SB in a jumbotron. |
Re: Jerry Jones Super Bowl Off To A Rough Start
How much did they charge for those premium parking lot tickets?

$200 bucks a ticket? I'd rather spend 200 dollars worth of food and drink, and watch the game comfortably in my house. |

not only that, but apparently you had to buy the tickets as groups of 4. Now if me and 3 other guys got together to figure out how to spend $800 for a SB party, I don't see the first, second, or last option being standing outside watching a Jumbotron. |
Re: Jerry Jones Super Bowl Off To A Rough Start
The butchering of the National Anthem was appropriate for Jerry Jones' event.
Brutal...not that she didn't know the words, but the disrespectful way she "sang" it, trying to put her "style" on it. It's meant to be sang the way it was written. Don't change it up so people remember you. Also, remember the words! I wanted to puke. I knew it would be painful to listen to when I saw who was coming out to sing, but I could not have imagined it would be THAT bad. It was down there with Rosanne Barr's attempt, no joking. HOWEVER...great job by the NFL with the Declaration of Independence presentation (which happened to be on President Reagan's 100th birthday). Great to see Coach Gibbs and Donovan on there along with Colin Powell. We could tell that Jerry had no hand in that production, it went well. |

The only way to do that is NOT to allow Jerry Jones to every host another SB. There were so many debacles, hopefully that will happen. It was Jerry's ego and last of caring about fans that caused these problems. He was gunning for an attendance record with a facility not capable of reaching it. Fed-Ex Field is still the biggest stadium by seating capacity when you take away the "standing room only and stare at the Jerry-tron in a crowd" tickets that equally pissed fans off in the stadium debut...and sent some fans to the hospital. He thought he could get the record with a drive-in movie-style setup...and still failed. I don't even believe that those would count towards a SEATING record anyways...they're not IN the stadium! The issues with seating being sold and not installed is just inexcusable and unforgivable. He should be banned from hosting again. The entire event was a mess. Luckily, a GREAT game took place. I thought there would be safety issues when I saw pictures of the temporary seating being installed, but never would have guessed that Jerry Jones of all people would leave possible seats to be sold, unfinished. I expected him to cram people into aisles (fire code forgotten) and even install some trapeze swings for the handicapped to hang from so he could install more "regular" seats for those without wheelchairs. Yes, I expect the WORST from him, and he didn't disappoint. |
Re: Jerry Jones Super Bowl Off To A Rough Start
The many gaffes surrounding the construction of the Jerry Mahal and its subsequent Super Bowl make it clear that Jerry is not a detail-oriented person and his close advisors/assistants are not, either.
Given that, I am happyt that he runs the Cowboys. :) |

Agreed, but they did make it up to most of the people who were moved. Refund 3 times the face value of the ticket and many were relocated to the field level. |
Re: Jerry Jones Super Bowl Off To A Rough Start
December 19th was the last game palyed at Dallas and Jerry knew he needed those extra seats in place. I cannot believe that they could let that slide with alomost two months to prepare. What would have happened if they made the playoffs and had less time to prepare. The world was watching and Jerry laid a big fat egg. What a dumb ass.

Yeah but considering a lot of people paid at least 4x on stub hub, a 3x refund rings a little hollow. |

To be fair, the NFL was in charge both of the outside event and the extra seating. I imagine Jerry had a serious hand in both since it was at his stadium, but it was the NFL's responsibility completely. (as a side, the NFLPA gets 60% of those outside tickets, while the NFL pays all the concessions, and event costs, whatever they may be.) Hopefully the NFL notes the colossal failures and doesn't try either again... |
