Football was meant to be played in Rosie O'donnels bathroom.
Pfffffttttt...........
Thats 1970s mentality. And who says it was "meant" to? God? Knute Rockne? Why does the weather need to be a factor in the game? It should all be nuetral ground, where the fans dont have to freeze their ass off. Gimme a nice warm dome any day. |
Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
Ouch.

P.S. ........... according to ND alumni .... Knute Rockne and God are the same person. |
Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
Am I the only one confused here?

Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
Besides that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?

Stopped by out of curiosity..... I'll just relwasr this thread from my memory.

Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
Was this a reply to something?

Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
I'm assuming this is sort of one of those option threads. Basically, please share your opinion on whether football is better when played inside or outside?
|
Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
I agree!
Those december/january games are brutal out here in San Diego. |
Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
Football was meant to be played on a field made of jell-o?
|

You have no valid opinions on how or where a game should be played. That star beside your name now represents an uncountable number of colossal blunders on a worldwide scale. It's like a big asterisk saying to the rest of us, stay away from this walking disaster, he will steal your money and leak on you. |
Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
Part of what makes Football, Football is the overcoming of variables. Weather being one of them.
Nascar is losing its fan base due to restrictions of what made Nascar, Nascar. (Im not against safety, Im just stating a fact) Just saying you can only change a sport so much before it loses it's foundation of what made it a success. The NFL is a hardcore league. That is part of its intrigue. Making Football a indoor sport takes away part of what Football is or was. Just because the new generation accepts it doesn't change that. IMO. |
Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
I really don't get it.
|
Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
Im all out of love, and im so lost with out you...............
|
Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
In the NHL don't they play a winter outdoor game just b/c? Why doesn't Goodell aim to make more money and have an ice bowl game? for cold climate teams and have them play in freezing temps?
|
Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
WTF is this thread about or based on? Answer this question: Who said what to spawn this thread?

Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
This where keeping it real goes wrong.
|
Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
I think there's a link between this thread and the first post in the current NFL stadiums rankings thread; BUT there is an equally strong chance that there is a link between this thread and acid, or vodka, or paint in an unventilated room.
Unrelated - I think the fat chick that lives in the apartment above mine just toppled over. |

There's a reason the term "rain out" was coined. There are no stats for "who throws the best spiral in the wind". |

Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
Green Bay vs. KC on Aug 4, 2003:
Game cancelled at 5:49 of 3rd quarter due to inclement weather conditions. I'm still confused what you're point is, the greatest games of lore are bad weather contests. Remeber the Tampa Bay game of a river flowing down the stairs? 2004, the NFL moved the Dolphins home opener from Sunday to Saturday due to Hurricane Ivan 2010, Philadelphia game postponed due to snow, poor road conditions. Anyone else aware of this unheard of "rain out" term. |
Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
How about the Fog Bowl : December 31, 1988 playoff game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chicago Bears. Classic. The play by play guy could not see the game from the booth.
|
Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
I can think of more games being cancelled,or alternate outdoor venues involving domes. Just a mention of the potential loss, well move, of games in Minnesota next season.
|
Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
You dont see too many NFL games played on sand.....thats something I'd like to see changed in the 20 game season changes in 2030.
|
Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
Dumbest thread EVER!! Football isn't a game played in your living room...that would be checkers. If you can't handle the frigid temperatures at a game...stay the hell home. Football is a man's game...the end!

By The year 2030 This guy will go on IR for the rest of the season for Sand in Shoe Syndrome. Very sensitive but treatable condition. |
I get you but, Do you really not enjoy watching a snow game?
Not really, they are usually low scoring affairs and all the announcers talk about is the cold and the weather. I'll admit the New England snow plow game and such were classics but its time to move on...... |
Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
Football was meant to be played in the elements. If you think otherwise, man card revoked.
Rain-outs are for baseball. |
Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
Again with the "meant to" comments......
Who says it was meant to? Some of you guys are letting the game stagnate by remaining in the past. |
Re: Football was meant to be played indoors?
Cows were meant to be tipped over! To think otherwise is to be insane! Shouldn't we give bonus points for eating the cow right after tipping it over?

Maybe you should watch the AFL more? Seems more your speed.

Who said the games are "meant to be" high scoring like you like them? Are you one those fans that only pays attention when someone scores? There is so much more to the game then just scoring. I really do not understand the new generation of fans. Have you ever played organized football? I am really played, not rode the bench. Playing in the snow and rain is awesome. Best times I had on a football field was running and diving and sliding across the field. |
