Interesting. I guess his X has all of his money now.

How many 36 year old RBs are in the league? I'd be pretty surprised if he even makes a roster.

Eh, I don't know. It wouldn't suprise me for him to make a roster. He hasn't played in a few years. Should be healthy. He left the game in his prime. I can see him in some sort of 3rd down/backup role for a team that thinks they got a shot at it this year.

Life lesson. Don't sleep (and impregnate) a woman 12 years younger than you and then divorce your wife. Bad things will happen, like you'll lose all of your money.

He keeps himself in great shape and has been away from the grind for a few years. I bet he'll compete to split time somewhere. Some team will give him a look.

The time off doesn't hurt...he might be rusty but I'm sure he can get in shape and contribute as a backup in meaningful ways.

You never regain your timing for making the cuts as a RB. Tiki, do all of us a favor and stay retired.

Tiki has obviously stayed in shape since he's been out, and did not leave the game broken/injury plagued. He's a young 36, having taken no hits the past 4 years...all he needs is a decent training camp and i'm sure he'll look good...

Whatever happens, it won't be with the Giants. He threw Coughlin under the bus, and said Eli wasn't a leader. And then they won the Super Bowl. Lol. He's a piece of dirt. Leaving an 8 month pregnant wife for a 23 year old intern. Fail.

Yeah, Matty...what the heck are you doing with those kind of pictures on your computer?

Anyways, I'd let him try out for the Skins. Herschel Walker too. :D

Longtimefan 03-08-2011 04:14 PM

Re: Tiki Barber To Unretire?

His chances would be better than Herschel's. Don't know what's motivating Tiki's thought process but, the game has been known to do strange things to some players.

ps.... financial woes maybe??

I agree, interesting to see what the giants do. I think they have some sort of rights?? After he left he said alot bout the giants and they won the superbowl.

The Giants have said they will release his rights as soon as a new CBA allows them to.

I don't know about that. The statement he released said he just recently started working out again, and he said he felt just as strong as he used to. He said that watching his brother has re-ignited his desire to play. Please, Tiki. An empty wallet has left you no choice. We all know this.

"After seeing my brother still have fun at our age, it reignited the fire," Tiki Barber said, according to FOXSports.com. "I'm really looking forward to the challenge of seeing if I can get back to the level of where I was. I started working out again recently. It kind of shocked myself. I still had a lot of the strength I had before. I'm really looking forward to making a return."

Preach. The Giants have already said they'll release him, and I don't think he's in any sort of football shape from what I've heard. And it wouldn't surprise me if this was a money ploy. And he is a piece of dirt, if even that.

Maybe we should have a poll

Who will score his next NFL TD first?

Tiki Barber
Herschel Walker

Didn't the Giants win a Super Bowl without him?
Why would they Giants want him and not Bradshaw/Jacobs?

Geez, washed up-aging veteran- older than every RB in the league....... He'll be a Skin by tomorrow if Snyder intervenes.

SolidSnake84 03-08-2011 07:49 PM

Re: Tiki Barber To Unretire?

It sounds to me like Barber is just wanting to play again. He's not saying he will start, or win a superbowl, or any of that crap. The guy i think just wants a chance to make the squad. He will accept any role at this point.

Why not take a chance on him if he can help us out and we get him for cheap $$ ??

He wants to play with his bro in Tampa

And Tiki doesn't strike me as a guy who just wants a chance to be accepted onto a squad and will just take a backseat. There's nothing to gain, in my opinion, in bringing him here. It's not like he was even active last year like LJ and Parker at least were in 2009 before we signed them

Yeah I think we already tried the veteran RB route with little success.

Move on with Torain and bring in someone else to split the load, Williams as the 3rd down back
