re: Brandon Marshall
It is now being reported that Marshall should be ok from Jay Glazer
|
re: Brandon Marshall
Hopefully this is a wake up call. According to the four letter he has "number of incidents of alleged domestic violence" in his past. Thoughts and prayers, but he seriously needs to get it together, the guy is a HUGE talent.
|
re: Brandon Marshall
Sounds like his wife finally had enough of his abusive shit, if that's the case he got what was coming to him.
|
re: Brandon Marshall
I hope he's okay, but if this incident stemmed from him being physically abusive to his wife, then the both of them need to get serious help. Such a shame.
|
re: Brandon Marshall
That guy is arguably the biggest ticking time bomb in the NFL.
Not surprised in any way. |
re: Brandon Marshall
Best of luck to him in his recovery.
Character means nothing.....right? |

re: Brandon Marshall
This is I believe the 12th arrest/violent incident involving an NFL player this offseason I believe. Not doing a good job of showing Goodell doesn't need to police them with his personal conduct policy
|
re: Brandon Marshall
^^ At the same time, 12 arrests out of 1600 players is less than 1% of the professional player population.
Of course, as the saying goes, it only takes a few bad apples to spoil the barrel. |

I'm not too well versed in this stuff- are players that get in legal trouble during the lockout still subject to the personal conduct policy? |

i heard that goodell was going to reveiw cases after the lock out was over with, i tried to confrim this with no luck if they get fined for things they were doing while not getting paid or being employed that seems retarded to me and something right up goodells alley |

re: Brandon Marshall
Hopefully this is an isolated situation and not part of the old pattern. He needs to pick his friends better.

I hate to use "this guy" as Gruden would say, as a resource, but he tends to get off keeping track of this stuff and actually does a good job. Check it out, the players basically cant go 7 or 8 days straight without getting arrested...I mean come'on thats effing pathetic: Police Blotter | ProFootballTalk |
re: Brandon Marshall
B Marshall is a punk and if he keeps it up He'll end up in a grave before too long. He's dam lucky he wasn't the one killed in Denver that night because he helped start the fight.
|
re: Brandon Marshall
Ahhh, the bi-weekly NFL player stabbing or arrest.
Right on cue. |
re: Brandon Marshall
Hearing about incidents like this makes me think about Sean Taylor. I will never forget the morning I came into work and my colleague told me that he had died. I was floored. I never, NEVER, expected that he would pass away. I still miss that guy. Is it odd that I still lament his murder after all this time?
|
re: Brandon Marshall
^ No CT I feel the same which is weird because I never even met ST21 in my life but it felt like a close friend passed.

re: Brandon Marshall
Bad week for professional sports couples. I saw something similar happen this week to an NHL player, he wasn't stabbed but he was assaulted by his wife.

CNN is saying it was "wife of Miami Dolphins star receiver Brandon Marshall has been charged with stabbing him in the abdomen with a kitchen knife during a domestic violence incident, according to a report from the Broward County, Florida, sheriff's office.
Michi Nogami-Marshall, 26, was charged Friday evening with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, which allegedly occurred in their Southwest Ranches, Florida, home, according to the sheriff's report."...... "Brandon Marshall, 27, told police that he "slipped and fell onto a broken glass vase," the report said. "However, the area of where the vase was broken indicated no blood within the immediate area to substantiate his claim," the report said. His wife then told police that she stabbed her husband "out of self-defense," the report said. Man I thought that vase throwing only happened on screen

re: Brandon Marshall
So glad the Redskins didn't sign as a FA last year, he's another A-hole receiver. Supposedly his wife was defending herself and I believe her story.

Dude is a wife beater, always has been Always will be.. It's only a matter of time until someone is killed and that's sad |
re: Brandon Marshall
May I remind folks here of 9 extremely important words in US jurisprudence:
Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law...
Right now Marshall's wife has been arrested. Maybe she will be charged. If so, maybe she will be tried on those charges; and if so, maybe she will be convicted. Or maybe other stuff will happen... Before anyone makes a judgment in this matter, wait for just a tad more info to find its way to the general public. |
re: Brandon Marshall
Self discipline has become a lost art. It's rational to asume these guys would eventually learn just from the experiences of others who have chosen that same path. There's no future in domestic violence.
|
re: Brandon Marshall
SC let's be real now, he's a thug plain and simple. How many times has he been in trouble for D.V? Almost every year we hear the same story on Marshall. Yeah he said he would get help a while back but obviously he didn't.
|
re: Brandon Marshall
Longtimefan:
Amen and AMEN!! to that. Young athletes today seem not to have the ability to learn from recent history and seem - therefore - destined to repeat it. Self control/Self discipline went out of fashion when it became critically important to try to have every kid in elementary school to have a high self-esteem. Think about that for a minute ... That is about as absurd as trying to have every kid in every elementary school to be "above average"... |
re: Brandon Marshall
I think that crazy women, and clubs are the #1 killer of NFL players. Just like the song said, "you can't trust a big butt and a smile".

re: Brandon Marshall
According to this column, there is "talk" that the Miami Dolphins are considering cutting their ties with Brandon Marshall.
Obviously, Cincy would be a natural place for him to go and be with other miscreants. Talented as he clearly is, the Redskins ought to stay far away from him... His is the typical end result of when they're swept under the rug, adding fuel to the potential for future incidents. From the very first episode of domestic violence, a stern message should be sent to the offender......this type of behavior will under no circumstances be tolerated. |
re: Brandon Marshall
what the hell is wrong with this guy? he just can't keep away from trouble. especially when it comes to women. it's pretty obvious that he's got issues when it comes to domestic violence. you know it had to be pretty bad if his wife stabs him and he needs surgery.

This guy's off-the-field troubles actually keep him off the field though, so this is when a player's personal life DOES hurt the team. This is not his first major off-the-field injury brought on by his own stupidity. |
