Which Undrafted Free Agents should we try to sign?
Here are some that I think might be able to help us:
RB - Mario Fannin. He's 5'10" 238 out of Auburn. He ran a 4.38 forty at the NFL Combine. This is a player who caught a lot of passes out of the backfield and is a willing blocker with size. Possible third down back. WR - I hope the Redskins keep bringing in WR prospects until we get the guys we want and need. So, let's go for Armon Binns who is big at 6'3" 209 out of Cinn. He has good hands and was productive in college. Also, Dane Sanzenbacher out of Ohio State. He's big enough to play in the slot, not fast but one of the quickest WR's at the Combine, and he catches everything thrown to him. OL - Jarriel King, OT out of SC. He's big and fast but he has had medical problems (irregular heart beat). If he's healthy enough to play, then he's worth a look as a developmental player. OLB - When the Skins' scouts were stranded in Lincoln, Nebraska (I assume they were stranded there for a few days) they must have noticed Pierre Allen. He has good size and is athletic enough to look at as a 3-4 OLB. He was productive in college. ILB - Scott Lutrus, 6'2" 240 out of UConn. Big enough, fast enough, tough enough but coverage skills are suspect. Worth a look, IMO. |

I know we drafted two RB's but Darren Evans out of VT is a pretty tough RB. He was supposed to get drafted.

Without a CBA what can we do?
Call them up and tell them we're interested? Cant sign them with this stoopid lockout going on. |

I second that. Good player who could contribute pretty quickly. |
Re: Which Undrafted Free Agents should we try to sign?
I can't believe I almost forgot about Noel Devine RB out of WVU
He had a down year mostly because of injuries but when he's healthy he's an enormous talent. |

Re: Which Undrafted Free Agents should we try to sign?
I'd probably look into these:
NFL.com news: Devlin tops list of best available undrafted players NFL.com news: Devlin tops list of best available undrafted players National Football League: NFL Draft 2011 - Terrence Toliver National Football League: NFL Draft 2011 - Ricardo Lockette -I like the comment about him being one of the fastest at 6-2, 211lbs and maybe they could work on his hands and dropping the ball. National Football League: NFL Draft 2011 - Joe Lefeged -I'm not saying he's great or anything but he was a K/P returner in college and was used to ***block kicks*** we could use that on special teams. |
Re: Which Undrafted Free Agents should we try to sign?
Pat Delvin and was Jeff Maehl drafted?
|
Re: Which Undrafted Free Agents should we try to sign?

As long as the medical checks out, I would love to add this guy to our club. If he can play anywhere near his 2008 level, he will be a solid starter for years to come. Love this guy!!! |

Boiler Room: NFL Style | National Football Post
This would infer that, if the lockout is lifted this week, the resulting extra time after the draft would be beneficial for both the UFA's and the FO's. Interesting. |
This would infer that, if the lockout is lifted this week, the resulting extra time after the draft would be beneficial for both the UFA's and the FO's. Interesting.
Yeah absolutely. Because of the lockout, agents' phones didn't start ringing off the hook right after the last pick of the last round. So this extra time gives agents time to really research each team's draft picks, their needs, etc etc. And of course, on the flip side of that, FO's have more time to go over who wasn't picked, however I'm sure FO's have very extensive big boards and player bios lined up and researched prior to the draft. Although if they're really interested in a guy who wasn't picked, now they have more time to dig. Anyway, it was a great read. |

I forgot to add Thomas Keiser OLB Stanford, Deunta Williams FS UNC, and SS Jeron Johnson Boise State to my list. Also all those centers interest me. |

UFL Draft
Round 1: 1. Hartford: QB Jerrod Johnson (Texas A & M)-Colt's already got competition 2. Omaha: DB Reynaldo Hill (Florida) 3. Sacramento: QB Ryan Colburn (Fresno State) 4. Virginia: DE Martail Burnett (Utah) 5. Las Vegas: OL Joel Bell (Furman) And now back to the thread |

Reynaldo Hill for example is 28 years old and played 4 or 5 seasons for the Titans... |

Re: Which Undrafted Free Agents should we try to sign?
Well I could lie...but then I might as well be on another board
Meanwhile, Cam's brother Cecil (a Center) drafted by Hartford (Glanville) |
Re: Which Undrafted Free Agents should we try to sign?
UFL can claim rights to FA's (some team had Jamarcus on their "roster") but by no means is anyone drafted by the UFL bound to participate in the league. I think this year they've made it more difficult to jump straight to the NFL as well.
I'd advise against these guys going due to possibility of getting picked up by NFL and uncertainty that they'll actually get paid with the UFL. |

Watching a special on Mark Herzlich on NFL Network. Pretty remarkable. I hope we sign him.

The great story aside, this guy is a flat out beast. He should be at the seriously at top of our list, he can flat out play with a huge motor. We will have a hole ILB hopefully when he gets offered by half the league, he will take that into consideration. Noel Devine is worth a peak at RB. |

Drafted by Omaha (UFL) tonight They also drafted QB Jeremiah Masoli |
Re: Which Undrafted Free Agents should we try to sign?
I'm torn, I root for the players to win and the Lockout is lifted and players are practicing and teams are trading
Or I root for the owners who I think has a good argument in regards to the players not wanting to give and take in the talks and gave early to decertify so they could have "leverage" in the talks which is illegal. What happens if the 8th Circuit decides the owners have an argument and up holds the lockout? Leverage given back to the owners and what? The "non-union" has to negotiate or does the court say "because we deem it illegal the union cannot decertify"? And the court tells the union to get back to negotiations? Basically the owners lockedout because they feel the players decertified illegally, so what happens if the court agrees? Is the union put back in place by law and what about negotiations? |
Re: Which Undrafted Free Agents should we try to sign?
^ sorry again didn't mean to derail the thread but all I keep hearing is "I hope the 8th Circuit lifts the lockout." which essentially means the owners are going to have to give the players what they want.
