Teammate: No excuse for T. Williams' absence

Until receiver Malcolm Kelly’s one-day appearance, Williams’ absence is the most surprising considering he has a long way to go in his development. Left guard Kory Lichtensteiger said Williams should “definitely” be participating. |

Ummm Matty you were saying :D

Who cares. When camp opens he'll be there.

Re: Teammate: No excuse for T. Williams' absence
Given that they are playing a sophisticated version of backyard football, it doesn't bug me if linemen are not there, since there is not that much for them to do. I'm not saying that Kory L. is wrong, just that it is not that big of a deal.
Landry and Atogwe being missing bugs me more. They do have things to do. I wish they were both there building chemistry and mutual understanding. |
Re: Teammate: No excuse for T. Williams' absence
I can't fault anyone for not showing to these workouts. Real mini camps are one thing, these player organized practices are a different animal.

OKUNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGg!!!!!!one!eleven!

Re: Teammate: No excuse for T. Williams' absence
Landry never shows up. That's just what happens. He's never been big into OTAs/minicamp. He only showed up last season because we were switching defenses.
Atogwe has had any number of family engagements and stuff that was planned months in advance. I'm sure he'd be there if he could. As for Trent, this isn't a big deal. At all. There's not a whole lot for linemen to do. It's good for them to just get in the habit of repping the plays, but really, I'd rather have him stay at home and work out on his own then risk being injured. He was really effective at the beginning of the season, but then all his injuries started to pile up. Problems with his knee, calf, shoulder, all on one side of his body. In the old days, the offseason was supposed to be about healing. From everything we've heard, Trent's been working on regularly and doing stuff with Adrian Peterson. He'll be ready for camp, and really, that's all that matters. |
Re: Teammate: No excuse for T. Williams' absence
TW has never been called a Lazy player he'll be fine
|
Re: Teammate: No excuse for T. Williams' absence
I wonder if they would have showed in Pittsburgh?

I'm pretty sure Pittsburgh hasn't worked out AT ALL this offseason, so...no, they wouldn't have. |
TW has never been called a Lazy player he'll be fine
I've heard him be called lazy before, kind of feel that was one of the bigger grips on him coming out of school. Either way as one of the highest paid players at one of the most important spots on the team he should be there. Im glad that KL is calling him out, he should be called out. Also im pretty sure MK has been to at least 2 practices, maybe just one" ota", but he was there 2 out of 3 days, |
Re: Teammate: No excuse for T. Williams' absence
WTF guys these are organized pick up games. Freaking fans are playing lol! I don't blame players for not showing.
Like I mentioned before it's a huge liability playing out here. It is all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Doesn't matter how simple the "drills" are. One cut and boom goes a knee. |
Re: Teammate: No excuse for T. Williams' absence
And yet again, every indication is that he's been at home working at on his own, and he comes into camp fine and is actually healthy, which he wasn't. When Trent was healthy he looked really good; it was until the injuries mounted up on him that his play suffered up.
The only reason this started up is because "Redskins players have some of the highest turnouts ay unofficial workouts" isn't a good headline and "Beck wants to be the starter" is running out of steam. Nothing positive is a good headline around here. |

Re: Teammate: No excuse for T. Williams' absence
Silverback been working just not here. Id woulda liked for him to be here, but no big deal if he isnt. The issue would be when this ends and Trent gets here for camp, he is way outta shape and practicing like sh*t. Then sure, id be pissed.

Re: Teammate: No excuse for T. Williams' absence
People please. He's in Texas working out with Vince Young. I think it's great that our LT and QB of the future are working out together
|
Re: Teammate: No excuse for T. Williams' absence
Kory Lichtensteiger needs to worry about his own game, or lack thereof.

We're not very good, okay, sure, but the fact is, through the three minicamps the Redskins have had, they've had some of the highest turnout, they seem to the most organized (running 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 while other teams are just running routes), our vets are teaching our rookies...there's a lot of positive stuff to say. And I was saying that for about two month "Beck wants to be the starter" was a big story that everyone could talk about/pick on, but now that story has run out of steam. So the local media has to latch on to something to run with for another couple weeks, and Trent not showing up is the next "thing". I would've liked for Trent to show up, just to see the guy, but again, I'd rather have him healthy going into training camp then risk him getting knicked up/hurt in unofficial practices. It's not really a story, and it's just Kory not understanding that anything you say can and will be used against you in the DMV. And I like that Clint Oldenberg and Selvish Capers can get some more practice reps without him here, since we're going to need another swing tackle if Heyer doesn't come back. |
Re: Teammate: No excuse for T. Williams' absence
This is a nonstory and non-issue in my opinion.

Re: Teammate: No excuse for T. Williams' absence
It's a lovely piece.............of .....

Re: Teammate: No excuse for T. Williams' absence
These are reason's why idiots have no money in 3 years when they are out of football, or get robbed and shot in a club for wearing something that costs $150K to a club... I just dont understand some of these athletes. They here of their fellow players getting robbed, shot, hell even killed over ramdom shit. Why in the hell would you put something that costs $150k around your neck and walk out of your house. You have to have some common sense.
|
Re: Teammate: No excuse for T. Williams' absence
I had to come back and say something else about the jewelry crap. Dez Bryant just settled out of court for a $246K jewelry bill??? What the hell is going on with these idiots. Now he is being sued for $600k pricetag of jewelry and tickets! Are you F'n serious.. dude has been in the league 1 year, and racking up $1million in Jewelry. Idiots with money, makes no sense.

Quote from T. Williams today at Redskins Park.

Well, he doesn't get much for creativity for the email excuse Bullshit.......but as long as he's in shape...... |
I think some of the pundits forget that TW got a trial by fire in his first couple games facing some of the league's top pass rushers. Throw in a mediocre line, I think he did as well as he could have done. I think there are big expectations of him in his second season.

No worries there, reports suggest he came back 7lbs slimmer. |
Re: Teammate: No excuse for T. Williams' absence
7 Lbs is like two meals to these guys so I'm not terribly impressed by that, however anything he can do to be more durable and in better shape I am good with.
