re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
Classy guy.
|
re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
This guy is a freaking idiot. Not sure what, if anything, Roger could do in terms of fines or suspensions since there isn't a league right now, and it really isn't bad behavior other than being classless. I never realized how much of a asswipe Harrison is. Pittsburg doesn't tend to play around with guys like this, so it wouldn't suprise me to see him end up being dropped at somepoint if he doesn't change his ways. No player in Pittsburg is bigger than the team. I would love to see how this idiot was to act if he was suspended without pay by the steelers for his gay slurs, racist comments, and overall lack of respect for the NFL. The NFL is allowing him to live this life he has and he seems to "piss" on it every time he opens his mouth.
|
re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
I understand he's pissed off and he has a right to be, but some of those comments are just disrespectful and out of line. Wow.
|
Re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
So do people think Goodell has relatively good job so far in his tenure? Harrison goes waaaaaaay to far, from a fan's perspective I think he coulda been better than he's been.
|
Re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
I'm really sick of this guy. For someone who is said to be tough and whatnot he sure is a crybaby. I hope the Rooneys fine and/or suspend his a$$ for this. One thing is being critical of the league, but this is ridiculous.
|
Re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
He's a cheap shot artist, really tired of hearing from this guy.
|
Re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
I gotta say the flag football comments were spot on.
|
Re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
It's one thing to dislike the commish, but he's ripping teammates now? Probably not going to sit well in the locker room when you publicly trash your young stud RB and 2x Super Bowl champion QB...
One thing we're constantly reminded of with the NFL- these guys get paid millions and are in the spotlight all the time, but that doesn't make them intelligent. What a ding dong. |

Re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
I liked James Harrison up till the super bowl a few years ago, when he punched and beat up Aaron Fransisco on the ground on a punt, when he wasn't going to go anywhere. Every since then, and to this day I hate that guy with a passion.

That was ridiculous, he should've been ejected from the game. I had forgotten about this, it was ridiculous. I hope they suspend his a$$. Man, when did the Steelers become the team of sh*theads? Big Ben assaulting women, Ward's drunk a$$ getting caught DUI, and now Harrison with this stupid tirade. |

Bullcrap they're right on. Especially when they pertain to Harrison, who is almost spiteful in his approach to the game. It's easier for players to kvetch and moan and groan about being fined and about the crack down on illegal hits and helmet-to-helmet shots while they're young and healthy. The consequences of those kind of hits are real and actual and have been documented to have a profound effect nor just on football players, but from other sports as well--baseball, hockey, pro wresting--it's not good. Especially with a nutjob with a screw lose like Harrison. I understand the hypocrisy of trying to tack on 2 extra games while talking about health of the players, but I also don't agree with this notion that floats around with some fans that, because some of the moves the league makes to protect players health (after all, this is a business, you want to protect your investment, even if you don't give a shit about your player's health), it constitutes going back to "flag football". There's still plenty of big hits every week in football that you never ever hear about because they're clean as a whistle and don't cause penalties, and everyone oohhs and awes and cringes. We've seen Renzo, Sellers, even LaRon Landry lay out some HUGE hits that were clean and impactful and "HOLY S**T!" moments that didn't involve some tool going after a guy's noggin. |

Re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
Five years from now, the only way James Harrison has anything to do with a major magazine is to go to the newsstand and buy one.
Five years from now, Roger Goodell will be NFL Commish and tons of magazines - - if there are any magazines left in 5 years - - will drool over getting him to be part of their cover story for a month. |
Re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
Harrison is a twat in so many ways....but man I would love that twat to be a Redskin.
|
Re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
Harrison just may be the dumbest guy in the NFL. Check out this pic from the Men's Journal article. With the NFL's stance on guns this is just beyond dumb on his part.

Re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
The Steelers are having some serious issues with their players right now, however the Hines Ward thing wont turn out to be that big of a deal. I think Ward is a pretty good guy who just made a stupid mistake. However Ben Rapistburger, Mendenhall and Harrison are idiots in my opinion.

Are you guys kidding me? He didn't punch the guy it was an open palm to the guys numbers. Plus the Az. player dove at his knees, a big no no. Looks like fans are getting as soft as the refs and the league office. I actually like Harrison. He's one mean, tough SOB that intimidates, he reminds me of Greg Lloyd, just the kind of guy you don't want to **** around with. Plus he plays hard and back it up on the field. I like that in a defensive player. Now like I said, not cool ripping your teammates to the media and calling out the commish being on fire and calling him gay or whatever. |

Re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
Facing Goodell for any further disciplinary problems will be a true adventure. I'm sure he will remember. Some of these football players should be one permanent gag-order.

I'm sure the Rooney family is face-palming all over the place today.

I have to admit I don't get why there is so much dislike for Goodell. Not that I am some big fan but the level of dislike doesn't seem very rational. Can someone explain it?

I don't get it either, I think he's doing a fine job. He's not perfect but he always seems to have the best interest of the league in mind. I think some people just hate authority no matter who it is. Not everyone loved Tagliabue or Rozelle either. |

i very well might be just making this up, but it seems like goodell is making more changes to the game during his tenure than tagliabue. and it seems like players get fined alot more these day also, but again thats just me thinkin out loud as for harrison, he is a jackass who needs to learn when it is appropriate to run your mouth. which seems to be a reoccuring theme with professional athletes these days. the wierd part to me is why, i mean it wasn't in the heat of the moment, the interview was done sometime in april or may, over 2 months after the season was over. to blast your qb and rb like that unprovoked seems odd, it seems to all come back to harrison not being very smart. it will be interesting to see what happens to harrison once the lockout is over, i have a feeling he will have to answer to the nfl as well as the rooney's, they can't be very happy about this. |
Re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
You guys aren't talking about the same guy who refused to go to the White House after the Steelers won the Super Bowl a couple of years ago because the President didn't invite the team before they actually won the championship are you?
Because that guy is by far the biggest imbecile in the entire NFL. I also have a theory that Harrison is one of the top candidates of current players that uses HGH and whatever stuff the NFL's weak ass testing program allows half of these clowns to get away with. Harrison was a nobody who all of a sudden turns into the defensive MVP of the NFL. I don't buy it for on second. Top it off he displays roid rage on a regular basis to go along with these all too common extraordinary acts of knuckle dragging full retard stupidity. This guy's head is going to explode when he finds out how much money he is going to lose from the fine or suspension that he just guaranteed himself. |
Re: James Harrison Rips Goodell in Interview
Holy crap, Harrison full montied this interview. Deification references, a homophobic slur, the race card, team killing, guns, whistle blowing on steroids.
My goodness. |

Any chance Harrison gets fined for his comments when the lockout ends? You can't just allow a player like him to rip his employer at every opportunity and get away with it. And if he doesn't like it, well there's always the UFL.

If for nothing more then using an anti-gay slur. What a piece of trash. The kind of guy you wish went the way of many an UDFA. |
