Good. We need more competition at wideout, we're already thin enough there anyways. So is Wilson gonna take Rogers spot in the lineup? I've heard he's an okay db, got traded from Seattle to B-more last season. Why didn't the Ravens keep him? |
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
I hope he's as good as the last cornerback we got who previously played for Seattle in his career.
|
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
Another WR?!! Grrrrr
Oh wait... |
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
No more DBs are needed. Address the CB situation. One considered a DB doesn't have the tools to play CB.
|
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
This guy is to replace Buchanon?

Anyone else as confused as I am? |

Potentially...though I'd prefer if he was to replace Westbrook, but that's my own anti-Westbrook bias creeping in |

It's been along day for all of us. I'm tired so tired. 5 hour energy is needed. |
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
Ravens' secondary was pretty suspect last year even with Ed Reed towards the end of the season.
|
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
4.5 per year, more than 40% of total contract is guaranteed.
Seems about right. One thing that's definitely different now that cap space exists is that our deals aren't obscenely long anymore. A boon for Wilson: he'll be eligible for FA again in 2014 at the age of 29 and could get another pay day. |
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
Josh Wilson is a good CB and I think he'll help us (at WR, of course).

I'm tellin' ya, today is wearing me out. |
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
2 Terps at CB.
|
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
Decent about Barnes level if i know right
|
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
$13.5 million over three years, with $6 million guaranteed according to Adam Schefter.
Sounds like he could be replacing Rogers. Quality CB, I like this. Josh Wilson - Washington Redskins - 2011 Player Profile - Rotoworld.com |
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
40 Tackles 14 passes defended and 3 int last year
|
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
take that Carlos. A hometown guy who wants to be a Skin!
|
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
good signing. Young CB with upside. All depends on how he is used in the CB rotation and how much playing WR will interfere with that. ;)

Well, we can always go back to the labor discussions and talking about future revenue streams. I mean, if you really, really want to. Yes. It's been tricky trying to work and follow all the moves. May be a bit addled but a good addled. At least I am not talking about my pee. |

But the shift from 0 to 60 has been crazy. I can only imagine how crazy it must be for the teams/players/agents right now. |

Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
Love it. D hall and him two ball hawks

Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
A graduate of DeMatha Catholic and the University of Maryland, Wilson will stay in the area. Wilson will receive a reasonable $6 million in guarantees, and he could be an upgrade on Carlos Rogers opposite DeAngelo Hall. Wilson excelled in Baltimore last season, grading out Pro Football Focus' fifth-ranked cornerback. The Ravens figure to turn back to Chris Carr after losing out on Wilson.
According to Rotoworld. 5th ranked. Thats beastly for a upgrade and he can catch the football and is super young |

Didn't mean to forget you guys! The coffee and Red Bull must be flowing steady. |
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
I heard that Wilson was the first option if Buchanon was lost in FA. So does that mean Buchanon is gone then or will they continue to try and resign him?
|
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
Complaining is addictive. It's good to finanlly have another good signing. I'm relaxing now, may take a nap until the second week in August.
|
Awesome news, I was hoping for another wideout though. I really hope the next move is a guard.

Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
He was my favorite Terp a few years back and I like him as a 3rd CB, but not too sure how I feel about him starting.
|
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
I don't like this signing. He's never hit over .300 and has 9 career home runs in 5.5 seasons.

LOL. Well it's my colleagues who are doing most of the work. Reporting on NFL news isn't in my wheelhouse. Right now, I'm busy trying to figure out our college football strategy for 2016...yeah that's right I said 2016 |
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
QBs throwing at Carlos Rogers last season had a 95.2 rating. Throwing at Josh Wilson they were just 67.8 - DC upgraded
Josh Wilson allowed 46.9% of passes into his coverage to be complete in 2010, Rogers 69.4% - Repeat. UPgrade Some more stats |
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
Well put Carlos Rogers in the Ravens' 2010 defense and Wilson in our 2010 defense and are the numbers the same?
|
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
Guess thats true but he started last year seems pretty good to me. Rotate with Barnes
|
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
Weren't the Ravens Cornerbacks terrible last year?
|
Re: Redskins Sign DB Josh Wilson
I like Wilson but pairing him up with hall is a bad idea- they're both pretty short. We've got to sign a bigger cb.
