Madden 2012
On August 30th Madden 12 will be released so I wanted to see what others thoughts were on it.
For us Skins fans its always a little disapointing as far as ratings. It seems like it doesn't matter what FA we get or who it is because if your a Skin.. your ratings a little lower. Like Laron Landry, can anybody believe he was only an 84 along with Santana to start the season last year? Here's something else to watch for... OJ Atogwe finished the season a 93 overall FS. With us hell be an 89... unless they prove me wrong. They need to prove me wrong and give at least the little proven talent we have a good rating. Atogwe 91 Landry 91 Fletcher 90 Orakpo 89 D Hall 89 Santana Moss 87-88... they show Santana no respect Cooley 86 and NOTHING LOWER. Guy used to be a 90, if your a Skin and you get hurt u drop fiercly. Last year just an 85 for Cooley. Let's see what happens this year. Anyhow I preordered the Hall Of Fame edition so ill be playing with Jerry Rice, Marshall Faulk, Deion, and many more on my ultimate team so no matter what it'll b fun. I also hold many online fantasy drafts so let me know who plays well get a warpath leage goin. |
Re: Madden 2012
I don't play online much so I change the stats the way that I see fit. 99's across the board.
JK, but I do improve upon the stats because nobody wants to suck. For those who think what I do isn't "realistic" I say this "it's a video game you freakin tool, it's not realistic to begin with". |
Re: Madden 2012
Which system Skins4L?
I'll be down for an online league on the 360 assuming Madden 12 doesn't suck. I wasn't a big fan of '11. |

Re: Madden 2012
I am totally not getting this version. I don't have the time for it (newborn in the house) and every year it is the same old same old.

Re: Madden 2012
Sounds like they improved the Franchise part of the game -- which is what I love.

Me too. Really looking forward to seeing the changes. |
Re: Madden 2012
I'll third that. I'm really excited to see all the franchise changes, but I will admit I'm disappointed they couldn't implement the rookie cap in this year's mode. There are ways around it but I'd rather just sign my rookies upfront instead of having to dump them in free agency and then resign them to a cap friendly deal. I'll live with it though, mainly because I think all the other changes they made to franchise mode are going to make it a lot better than it was in the past.

Re: Madden 2012
I say it every year but i hope this year they have fixed the mandatory retirement ages for players. It makes me mad to see a guy who is in good health and playing well retire at 35 or 36 when in real life you have 40+ year old kickers, Brett Favre, Joey Galloway types who play into their 40's.
Once even Santana Moss in one of my other madden games retired at like 32. Makes no sense. |

And u can literally slap it on the same player every year and keep them playing. I'm a hardcore player so I bought all 3 good ones, the one more year, the team ratings booster for your franchise, and the star player which works on a single players ratings. |
Re: Madden 2012
I've seen guys retire at all different ages in the game. Reality is once players get into their 30s in real life they're on borrowed time.

Exactly that is the norm and part of the fun of the game is grooming that next guy to take over for your retired vet. |
Re: Madden 2012
I just hope it's as fun as NCAA 12 is. If you're jonesing for a good football game to tide you over until Madden drops, pick it up.

Re: Madden 2012
I'm still playing a franchise on Madden 2005...Skins have a handful of Super Bowl wins and Dallas is perennially in last place. I'm up to the 2013 season on the 2005 version of the game.
I just traded a 36-year old McNabb back to Philly...and acquired Beck (rated 82) from Carolina in a separate deal just try try him out. Ray Rice has been a monster for me. I have a WR with 99 speed that I drafted from Miami named Danny Holt...love throwing deep balls off PA to him. :D Cooley just retired though. :( I had been just DLing roster updates for years and when they stopped becoming available in around 2009, I started a franchise. If I had more time to play, I'd get a newer version but I get maybe 1 or 2 games (with 4-minute qtrs) in per week. No time for a father to sit and play games. Also, I'm playing on a PC, so the newest game I could get is 2008 anyways. |
Re: Madden 2012
ncaa12 is much better this yr.. Hope Madden 12 won't b like '11

Re: Madden 2012

Nice to see Fletcher in the top 10 at MLB.
No Cooley on the TE list? Grrrrr |
Re: Madden 2012
Cant wait! Landry better be at least 90 overall

He will, he should be. My guess is that 91 like I said. |
Re: Madden 2012
I just learned something cool...
There's a "D Hall" Acheivement/Trophy award next year... INTERCEPT FOUR PASSES WITH ONE PLAYER. Which is sick... But I'm thinkin now they might be finally givin him that 90+ respect. Been awhile since he was that 92 in ATL.. and a long road from that disrespectful 68 on the Raiders lol he was pissed that year about that. Google it |
Re: Madden 2012
The demo is out today, anyone got it yet?
|
Re: Madden 2012
According to my estimates, the 'Skins ratings should be out Friday, available here. These won't be updated rosters but we'll still know the ratings for our rooks and guys here pre-lockout.

Good call man. And matty I downloaded it last night. The graphics seem super smooth this year. I played with the pack I had like 3 sacks with Matthews first quarter on the prowl with em. And I hit Finley & Jennings for a couple monster plays... then I went to sleep. But it looks great this year. |
Re: Madden 2012
I just got done playing it myself. I like the presentation and the gameplay seems faster this year. They seem to be borrowing a bit from NCAA but that's a good thing. The demo definitely has me excited for Aug 30.

Ratings Moss only 85,Hall only 86. Montgomery is a 65, hopefully he gets a boost |
Re: Madden 2012
They've got some serious updating to do with that roster, sheesh
There must be at least a dozen guys that aren't on the team anymore lol |
They've got some serious updating to do with that roster, sheesh

Re: Madden 2012
Surely that can't be the roster that will be shipped with the game. Guess it doesn't matter much anyway, the first update will take care of that.
I've seen guys retire at all different ages in the game. Reality is once players get into their 30s in real life they're on borrowed time.
I "retired" last year. First straw was the HORID online play. Kids going for it on fourth down all the time, rolling out every play, etc. Now they have normal kickoff onsides? Give me a break. Final straw came when as a joke and boredom I created a Super Linebacker with 99 everything to see how many stats I could rack up in be a pro mode (ironic I know after complaining about realism but this is offline so it hurts no one). Anyway long story short I kept on trying to rack up sacks when I realized that I wasn't getting to the QB. Turned out on virtually every difficulty level the computer has a sixth sense that encourages him to get rid of the ball the second someone gets remotely near him (even from the blind side). Except of course during the 2 minute drill when they become a statue. Other people confirmed this same problem when I did a search online. Brought me back to the PS2 days where completing a deep post on any level above rookie was illegal. It was then that I realized I couldn't stand Madden anymore and was basically throwing away $60 for a 3 week rental since Favre was on the cover in a Packers jersey. |
Re: Madden 2012
Madden 11 stunk, but based on the demo and reviews from people who played it at E3, I think M12 has a chance to be pretty good.

I will not be suckered in with the demo for the 3rd year in a row :D Demo got me in trouble the last two years. |
Re: Madden 2012
Hall an 86? EA has to watch more tape.
And Santana an 85? 90+ Receptions over 1000 but an 85. Oh well. At least we have two 90 safetys. And im sure in a franchise mode Fletch is ready to retire any year but on the other hand Orakpos 88 is an easy 90 in one year of offseason progression. |

Only praise I have for them is them relying a little less on the "friends of EA sports" system, where guys that were buddy buddy with the producers and developers always seemed to get higher ratings. Still exist but seems much less prevalent these days. |
Re: Madden 2012
The ratings will never be perfect. But with the weekly updates they can at least be more fluid.

Hopefully it's gonna be better than NCAA 12. I've found this game to be riddled with glitches. To the point of where dynasty mode is almost unplayable. For right now you can't even edit named rosters, because as soon as you touch anything about them, their tendency changes. Have a scrambling quarterback? Better not change his gear, because as soon as you do, he's going to be balanced. Have a balanced RB? Well he's gonna be power as soon as you're doing changing his face. I mean, I like screwing with the edit appearances option, because nobody wants to have 11 clones on the field.. Okay well at least I don't. So when I'm bored, I'll tinker with their faces. Problem number 1... is that tendency issue. Problem number 2 is sometimes there are more faces than others, it just seems to be whenever the computer feels like giving me more options. Light skin tone actually has 20 options but 9 times out of 10 you're only gonna get 7. Dark skin tone has 55 opitons.. but normally you're just gonna get 10. Drives me up the damn wall. |

Try playing NHL 11. Rating updates come in whenever EA feels like it. And if a key guy is out for a few games when they do the new ratings then tough crap. There were parts of the season where I had to play online with Tyler Sloan for weeks at a time even though he only played in two games or something leading to the roster update. They also didn't even take the time to update Neuvirth in terms of ratings from an AHL goalie to an NHL goalie. Chances are they're probably setting up some pay for update system like FIFA. I know I'm done with Madden, chances are I might be done with NHL as well. FIFA on the other hand can still be fun. |
