Lions are slowly laying a beating on New England tonight!!!
 

Wow what a game, i hope this thread isn't inappropriate or un-needed, but I am watching this game right now and absolutley amazed at what i am seeing.

Brady looks absolutley lost out there. He is making bad, horrible throws. It's just not like him. He's only completed a handful of passes. He looks that bad.

And the Lions sure look great. Matt Stafford is 12/14 right now for 200 yards and 2 touchdowns. He's showing no ill-effects from his oft-repaired shoulder. They look strong and ready. Lions might surprise us this year.

But good for them. The pats deserve a humbling. I would love for them to see how it feels to have a 3 or 4 win season....

Sorry Gman, but the Lions are physically dominating the Pats. It is one thing if the Lions were just winning with the score, but they are beating up the Pats. Wes Walker has been taken out with a neck injury for making a nice open field tackle. The Pats might be screwing around, but allowing themselves to get beat up is stupid, if that is indeed the case.

The Pats tend to take the preseason very seriously so I wouldn't simply chalk this up to the "pre-season" syndrome.

I think if anything can be learned from this game, if you pressure the patriots and physically manhandle them like the Lions are doing tonight, then you can beat them. Everybody is almost afraid to play them but these guys tonight are hitting with bad intentions.

I agree with GusFrerrotte. The Lions are beating them badly in every possible way. And the patriots have no answer. I agree with others who say it is dumb to leave their starters in there. They risk a lot of guys getting hurt for a "meaningless" game. Still makes me happy to see Brady take such a terrible beating. The referees aren't in his pocket tonight like in other games.

If Stafford stays healthy the Lions could be a tough team this year. Preseason or not it's good to see the Patsies getting their asses kicked.

The patriots beyond suck in this game. They go for it on 4th and 5 right near the end zone and they turned it over on downs!!

Detroit's going to be sick this year -- it's too bad they lost Fairley, I was looking forward to seeing him and Suh line up together. Not against the Redskins though :)

I love watching the patriots getting beat. And yes the Lions could be a 10 win team if Stafford stays healthy and their secondary becomes good. Like Peter King said when he was at lions camp he saw "Matthew Stafford throwing bombs all over the practice field last week -- and completing them -- you'd be on the way to Vegas, putting $100 down on the Lions for the Super Bowl. But if you stayed a little longer and watched the secondary, you'd have put your money back in your wallet."

I don't hate the Pats as much as the "Pats fans"....they just never stop gloating (a lot are ignorant to the other teams or THEIR OWN...lol)

Bandwagoners have a way of being like that. Half the ones I know have never been north of Virginia and know nothing about football other than Tom Brady plays for NE and they won some SB's.

I watched the game as well. And what Detroit can do with that D-Line is pressure the QB with just the front 4 sometimes 3. Put everyone else back and it takes NE out of their comfort level. Detroit should be a very competative team this year. I am impressed with what they have done with the overall roster and playmakers they have on both sides of the ball. I would like to see what Detroit will do against a team that has a decent run game. If they let those front four go after the passer, they are going to be very successful, but would like to see them play the run.

Serioulsy...the Lions are the Lions....I hear this hype from their fans every day and in the end they dont do squat year after year. Their organization is too cheap and shortsighted to produce a champion.

I´m watching it right now and I´m really liking what the Lions do with their Kickoffs. High hangtime, driving it to the 1-3 yard line, forcing a return with the coverage guys already at the ten when the ball comes down. Sweet.

An old Redskin corner, Martin Mayhew is the GM there now and he's built a good team, mainly through the draft. If Stafford can stay healthy and their secondary holds up they can be a wild card team.

Yeah it's more than a two team league. It gets kinda boring seeing the same teams in the SB every year and fans start getting obnoxious when their teams always win.....unless it's the Redskins of course. ;)

One thing I noticed about the Lions in my brief glimpse near the game's end was how even their third-stringers were making technically sound tackles. The seem to be a well-coached bunch.

If Stafford stays healthy I could see the Lions being competitive. That's a big if though, believe it when I see it.
