2011 NFL Season: Bold Predictions Thread
So reading the Lions/Pats thread got me thinking- Let's all go out on a limb and make some predictions for the upcoming season that are off the beaten path, so to speak.
Mine are as follows: -The Lions win 11 games (not just saying that b/c of last night- I've thought for a while that if Stafford stays healthy that they can be damn good). I know their bandwagon is getting full, but I think they can challenge Green Bay for their division. -The Giants will finish last in the NFC East -The Jets will miss the playoffs. |
Re: 2011 NFL Season: Bold Predictions Thread
the bengals will win one game this year
the eagles will barely make it into the playoffs this year the redskins will have a top 15 defense the jets will make it to the super bowl |
Re: 2011 NFL Season: Bold Predictions Thread
Chiefs fall off to 5-11 record
Skins go 10-6 Ravens miss the playoffs The Bucs bomb. Go 6-10. I always felt that Josh Freeman is/was over-rated |
Re: 2011 NFL Season: Bold Predictions Thread
Stephen McGee (currently of the Cowboys) will a starter at some point this season.
|
Re: 2011 NFL Season: Bold Predictions Thread
I feel like these predictions are a little easy on the "bold" part.
The Lions making the playoffs - bold. I will also second that prediction. The Bengals winning one game - not bold, because everyone would agree with that or something similar, like winning between 1-3 games. The Skins having a top 15 defense? Not bold, I think based upon what we've seen this preseason we're definitely capable of that. The Skins having a top 5 defense? Bold. Also note I'm using that as an example, because I don't believe that'll happen this year lol. I'll go out on a limb. John Beck will have a season equal to Mark Brunell's 2005 season, where he threw for 3000 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 10 picks. Ryan Kerrigan and Brian Orakpo will be the first pair of Redskins bookend linebackers to both make the Pro Bowl the same year. Here's another bold one: Ryan Kerrigan = DROY. I feel like the "Bold" part still needs to be emphasized. Another example just to give an idea: Bold prediction: Aceinthehouse predicting we will go 14-2 last year. Not bold: Santana Moss will have 80 catches. (Sorry Jontrem) |
Re: 2011 NFL Season: Bold Predictions Thread
Phillip Rivers will be MVP
Redskins will go 9-7 and miss the playoffs Von Miller will have less sacks than Ryan Kerrigan (but a better all around year) Santana Moss will have over 80 catches Brady Quinn will start a few games in denver Minnesota will make the playoffs and Mcnabb will get too much of the credit The NFC west will send a team to the playoffs with an 8-8 record Mark Ingram will win offensive Rookie of the year Von Miller will win defensive rookie of the year |
Re: 2011 NFL Season: Bold Predictions Thread
(SKINS)9-7. wait..... I really want to say 10-6, but I've gotten burnt in the past using that number... so 9-7 or better.
Hey don't they have to cut down by Tues.? Other teams are already starting to cut their 5 or so players, I wonder to we cut. Jarvis- IR Moore- PUP or IR Torain? Maybe we only have to cut 2 or 3 players. |
Re: 2011 NFL Season: Bold Predictions Thread

Should have clarified. It would just be interim for the remainder of the season. |
Re: 2011 NFL Season: Bold Predictions Thread
Bold? The Redskins make the playoffs THIS YEAR..........barely?
|
Re: 2011 NFL Season: Bold Predictions Thread
Wow, I didn't know "bold" meant "specific". But I'll play along.....
The Giants and Dallas do their best to keep from being in last place in the NFC East. The Redskins take 1st place of the NFC East, with the Eagles in 2nd place. Cinci is the biggest loser this year. |
Re: 2011 NFL Season: Bold Predictions Thread
Colin Kaepernick and Andy Dalton will be the only rookie QBs to start week 1.
|
Re: 2011 NFL Season: Bold Predictions Thread
Hightower breaks redskins season rushing record

Now that is very bold, considering our O line still needs a few more pieces to tht puzzle. It has improved, but Stephen Davis and Riggo had better lines. |
Re: 2011 NFL Season: Bold Predictions Thread
Skins make it to the second round of the playoffs, where they lose to NFC North champion Detroit.
Texans earn a spot in the AFC championship game. |

Re: 2011 NFL Season: Bold Predictions Thread

2. Green bay wins 15 games 3. Dez Bryant leads the nfc in touchdown catches and yac. 4. skins will win 11 games, get beat in first round of playoffs 5. Hightower and Helu both break 900 yards, and the skins are 3rd in the NFL in rushing at the end of the year. 6. Redskins will have best defense in nfc east, 2nd best in nfc and 4th best in nfl at end of year. 7. Anthony Armstrong will catch 11 touchdowns this year. 8. Landry, orakpo, kerrigan and bowen all make pro bowl, with cofield barely missing out. 9. Gano connects on 85% of his attempts, and has a long of 54 yards. 10. Beck has a passer rating of over 95 at the end of the year, and starts all 16 games for the burgandy and gold. |

vs Cinci @ INDI vs Miami vs TN @ Oak vs Sea @ San Fran @ Hou vs St. L vs Jack @ Cinci
while that looks easy, the texans, rams, colts and titans are no slouches, and each one of them along with oakland should be over .500 this year. (but yes, i would love for the skins to have that frikkin schedule......:) |

I got it though. Here's another bold one: Sunny D beats DeAngelo in picks this season, and D.Hall has at least 6 again. |

I predict that there will be no more D. Hall arguments or any mentions of Haynesworth and McNabb on this forum. Actually, that's more like wishful thinking and not bold. |

Fred Davis has 10 TD receptions .... and we are on our way back to building a CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM IN THE NATIONS CAPITOL , Rome was not built in a day either :)

Re: 2011 NFL Season: Bold Predictions Thread
I say the Lions don't just make the playoffs, they represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.
Outstanding D goes a long way. |
Re: 2011 NFL Season: Bold Predictions Thread
Lions lose to Pats in SB
Panthers pick first in 2012 draft (Bengals 2nd, Titans 3rd) NFC Wildcard teams come from North and South AFC Wildcard teams from West and East |

Portis had the single season rushing yards from scrimmage record in 2005. Same year that Sanatana broke the single season passing record in yards. Portis 1,516 rushing yards Moss 1,483 receiving yards. |
Re: 2011 NFL Season: Bold Predictions Thread
Ok homer call.
The Redskins will stun the NFL and win the East with a 12-4 record. Sweep the AFC East in the process. They will host the NFC Championship Game. In the process they will break the Fan Attendance record for a NFC Championship Game. The Eagles will miss the playoffs completely. Mick Vick and Vince Young both have injuries lasting 4-6 weeks at some point in the season. This will be the end of thier season. lol... The Colts will miss the playoffs. Houston will win the AFC South. The Lions play us in the NFC Championship Game I was talking about earlier. How are these for BOLD Mattyk? You heard it hear first folks. Mark it down and buy those tickets. |
Skins make it to the second round of the playoffs, where they lose to NFC North champion Detroit.
Texans earn a spot in the AFC championship game.
And Helu will win Rookie of the Year. |
