I took sometime to share my 5 game keys

1: Quarterback play: obvious right? If Rex can lead the offense like a guy who has been in it for 3 years then we should be fairly solid in the passing game. Rex can’t give up easy turnovers and he has to be accurate. Rex needs to take advantage of what fate has given us, a broken down injured Giants defense, if the offense is ran to plan, there should be pretty opportunities for yards, 1st downs, and 3rd down conversions.

2: Offensive Line: Throughout the preseason the line impressed greatly in run blocking but there was simply much to be desired with the pass blocking play. As we all have seen Rex Grossman needs time to be effective. Can our smaller lineman bring physicality to a new level? Can they take advantage of an injured defensive line unit? All are key questions.

3: Can Reed Doughty be good in place of LaRon Landry? He cant be a liability

4: Special Teams: Will Gano carry over his preseason success? Will Brandon Banks do his job and give good field position? Will Gano nail each kickoffs into the end zone? Special teams are scoring chances, all Redskins need to capitalize with.

5: Emotion-who wants it more? 9/11 a day that lives in terror, both areas attacked this day 10 years ago. Who will be more driven to make this day worth it for the fans? Who is more driven to honor the fallen? It’s all about the drive

Can the Skins stop the run? That's my biggest question mark for this game. Our D-line is better on paper than last year, but can they gel as a unit against a tough rushing opponent? It will be a huge test.

With a full head of steam Jacobs could run headfirst into a minivan and win the battle. He needs to be stopped before he gets rollin' and we need to hit Eli in the face a couple of times...game over.

My thoughts in regards to what we need to do to win.

1) Rex have good pocket presence and ball security against D-line.

2) Stop the run at the point of attack.

3) Limit Eli's big plays to Hicks and Manningham

4) Attack their DL/LB with the run game with their many injuries.


I think we pull this out and end our streak. 27 -17

many of these streams come from overseas. It's funny watching the foreign commercials sometimes.

Yeah. I am particularly fond of Swedish commercials. They tend to be creative and tend to feature hot ladies.

My best shot at game time inactives

Logan Paulsen-I think Sellers gets the nod for special teams play

Brandyn Thompson-Byron Westbrook gets the nod after a solid preseason, he has more experience and Brandyn is still a little raw

Niles Paul-such a log jam at receiver

Leonard Hankerson- disappointing considering I was so excited about him when drafted, I think he is still to raw to get playing time

Markus White-Rob Jackson gets the nod with more experience

Willie Smith-by far our most raw backup offensive lineman

LaRon Landry-we all know about that hammy

So I'm listening to 980 while finishing up a workout and they were replaying Larry Michael's interview with Rex from earlier in the week. Anyone else hear Rex say that the Redskins have the "best receiving corps in the NFL?" ummmmmmm.....

I can't wait for this game .... today we change the way people talk about the Redskins ... i've waited since 91' for a glimpse of anything close to that ... we aint in the Super Bowl but this team is special / young/ excited / learning / strong ... ready to f***ing rock

Oh for sure. I love his confidence. I still laughed out loud. Anyone who watched the Packers-Saints game on Thursday knows how far his statement is from the truth.

That said, I think our guys can expose the Giants depleted secondary today.

Well, lets see them in action first. Our WR corps should be much improved over recent years that's for sure. I think the potential of this group. Rex is just showing confidence in his team, just like when he said we'll win the East and everyone had a hissy fit over it.
