Injury Report Thread
So a bunch of Skins went down and I noticed we do not have one thread that tracks injuries, what the reports look like and their availability for next week (would be much cleaner than multiple threads each week).
This week Gomes, Barnes and Wilson went down on the defensive side. I think Zo walked off the field gingerly and I do not recall if he came back or if anyone else got hurt. Does anyone know the extent of their injuries and how likely are they for next week? Same goes for LL, who sat out today. Mods, can you please change title to "Injury Report Thread". I realize adding player is a bit redundant. |
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
BMitch just confirmed Landry will play vs Cowboys.
Mort reporting Felix Jones separated shoulder. Miles Austin (3 td) pull hammy again - team worried out thru bye wk, Romo fractured rib. |
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
It's been widely expected he'd play, but how does BMitch know this as a confirmed fact?
|
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
I say they break Romo's other ribs next week.

He spoke with Landry. |
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
It was Carlos that broke Tony Homo's rib too!
I saw on Insider that Shanahan said Wilson's back isnt as bad as thought, dont know what that means though, plus any back injury is usually pretty bad. Barnes was apperently just dealing with leg cramps. I thought he looked great while he was in opposite Hall. No word on Lorenzo, although it looked like he just got a concussion or something so he should be fine. Did anyone see him come back into the game? |
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
I really want to hear more about Wilson. Reports since the game have said "bad back" but he crumpled to the turf in the same way Darryl Stingley did. I'm concerned.

Got it |
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
If Orackpo hits Romo like he did Kolb, then he will smash Romo's ribs
|
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
So are we going to keep track of just our injuries in this thread or is this like a general "discuss injuries around the NFL" kinda thing?
If it's the latter, I'd love to talk about how the Chiefs are f'd in the a without Charles, Moeaki, and Berry for the year. |

I think they'dve played better with them, although the loss of Weis is probably hurting that team and Matt Cassel even more. |
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
I am friends with ZO on facebook, he posted he passed all of his concussion tests and will be ready for next week.
|
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
My guess is that when Kareem Moore and Philip Buchanon are ready to come back, that Stallworth and Mike Sellers might be with new teams.
|
Word from NBC is Mike Vick is feeling a little concussed.

Stallworth didn't do anything today that TA can't do...and Sellers only played Teams. Not looking good for Sellers come the bye week. |
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
Would be nice to see Hank get activated and get some reps.
|
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
Quality, healthy depth is being tested around the league right now. Skins have done well given their fair share of injuries.

Re: Player Injury Report Thread
Doesn't sound like Wilson felt too good today
|
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
I'd love for someone to just nail Homo in the 1st qtr. I have $100 riding on this game so I don't care how or by how much we win.

Re: Player Injury Report Thread
It is being reported now as of 6:26 pm on Monday that Romo suffered a punctured lung and a broke rib.
So my question is why would Romo even risk playing against our Defense. |

I disagree. I was high on the kid, but apparently he isn't really close to being able to the take the field as an NFL receiver yet. That's what ESPN980's Chris Russell said anyway. If that's true, he'd probably hurt us. |

In the game at Dallas back in '09 when we lost 7-6, I remember Brian Orakpo quoted somewhere, he said on a touchdown pass that won the game for Dallas, he was coming up behind Romo, and had him dead-to-rights, but somehow Romo adjusted slightly to his left and completed the throw. Rak' said he had no idea how Romo saw him coming. |

Whats the exact injury with Wilson? Back, Neck? |
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
Wasn't Buchanon suspended till week 4?
|
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
Miles Austin is not expected to play on Monday due to aggravated hamstring injury.

Re: Player Injury Report Thread
I'll put it in here also...
NFL Network is now calling Romo's rib fracture a puctured lung, and now a collapsed lung or pneumothorax. |

A sack a game is actually quite terrible. 3 or more is a "good day" in terms of getting sacks. |

So you are trying to say that 16 sacks in a season is slouching? I no thinkie so Mr. Sack leaders for the entire NFL the last 5 seasons. Seems like the league leaders are closer to 16 per season (1 per game) than 48 per season (3 per game).... 2010 - DeMarcus Ware DAL 15.5 2009 - Elvis Dumervil DEN 17.0 2008 - DeMarcus Ware DAL 20.0 2007 - Jared Allen KC 15.5 2006 - Shawne Merriman SD 17.0 |

Well maybe I should have read that earlier post! So there! Wait... d@%# it. |
Re: Player Injury Report Thread
SIR CP, I understand what you were trying to say, you were basing your stats on the team, not a player. 8 sacks is bad for a team for 8 games.
I also feel like this defense and the experience of the guys we have will create more than a sack this coming monday. It is a new year and while past stats can help make assumptions they do not predict a variable of improvement. Even though they seem so evenly distributed. Arrgh!... I don't know if Rex Grossman is a good comparision as Romo would most certainly land a starting job with one of the many NFL franchises that are in need of a QB. Also, as far as him feeling pressure, I believe that all QBs feel pressure to perform as a professional. TH is the starter in Dallas, which we all know is a pressure packed environment, he recieves pressure from the fan base, local media, national media, the coaches, and the owner. I would think this plus his own desire to win would make him play either the way we saw last week and the way we saw this week. Other than that I did not completely understand what you were trying to say. |

Per Mort:
Tony will be playing next Monday night. I hope Ryan and Brian are foaming at the mouth after hearing the news. |

agreed.. I'm ready to shelf the rookie surprise/breakout title he was given by a couple of writers... I do hope that he develops but I think that Gaffney is doing what he would be.. and holding on |
