Lets shift to Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers.. No matter who our QB is sunday our defense has their hands full. Panthers are 5th in overall offense 5th in passing, 13th in rushing. 22 PPG.

On the defensive side they give up 27PPG and are 16th in yards.

Don't really think it matters what they are ranked on defense. Kyle doesn't make his game plan based on our opponent.

On top of that our offense is the worst part of our team. Their D could be giving up 30+ points a game and we could still lose. I just hope Hightower is back so we can get Torain going again, with a one two punch in the running game. If Kyle is half a decent coach he will go heavy on the run and give Beck a bit of a brek if he starts or to keep the ball out of Grossman's hands.

But with regards to Caroline, im excited to play them. Things to watch:

John Beck at QB.... still tbd but i think it will happen

Newton at QB - I havent been able to see him yet and im excited to see him play, although im hoping we play him and feel like "i dont know what all the hype was about, this kid sucks"

Our line - Hopefully we have solid depth, well soon find out

Our defense - even with the very much ridiculous new defenseless receiver rule our d has been fun to watch this year

And with regards to your comment, maybe Mike will send Kyle to timeout and will take over the play calling?

This kid is going to put up OVER 500 yards of offense on us. See Saints game, sans Saints offense. We are going to get our asses kicked back to reality... An 8-8 season.

Cam is the truth bro, I've recorded the Panthers games actually and watched them ever since they played ARZ.. and I'm frightened to play that dude. I just have a bad feeling about this game I hope I'm wrong but I feel like Carolina is a really good team that has just got bad breaks late in games.. They could have beat AZ, GB and N.O..

Yeah Cam Newton is the real deal. Unless we get our defense back together and actually come into NC with an actual offensive GAMEPLAN (do they even do that anymore or does KS just close his eyes and point at his playlist?) this guy has the ability to absolutely rip us apart.

I think we may be able to contain Cam defensively, but what good is that when we have a down right inept offense? Leaves us with games like Dallas and Philly; completely winnable games if we could move the ball and be effective in the redzone.

Looks like on top of Good Rex, Bad Rex, we have to deal with Good Kyle, Bad Kyle. :doh:

I think you might as well get used to bad Kyle. Sexy Rexy only lasted two weeks til his real self emerged. I hope I am wrong, but Kyle might be coaching himself out of a future HC position.

Yeah thats what im scared of...

I also agree that there losses are partly due to bad breaks. I think theyre a much better team then philly and a much better team then people give them credit for. It should be a good challenge for our d..... hopefully its fun and not painfull to watch

I say our defense makes us beat their offense fairly well. But our offense keeps them in the game. It will be us by 4 with under a minute and Cam Newton fumbles the snap and we barely win.

Well, of course, that's why Wilson and Carriker get the Studs - Obviously on a crucial 4th and 2 Carriker jarred the ball loose, Wilson recovered it and ran it in for a TD. (likewise had McIntosh instead of Carriker, the only difference would be that it was a 4th and 3 and McIntosh tipped the ball which Wilson intercepted and returned for a TD). I love predictive math!

Well, the Panthers are 1-5, only beating the Jags in a monsoon where the running game was taken away...hurting Jacksonville more.

They played the Cardinals, Packers, Saints and Bears close in high-scoring shootouts but got embarrassed by a mediocre Atlanta defense.

It's obvious they have no defense of their own. We have one of the better defenses (other than Green Bay) that they've faced this year, so we will just have to score on their weak D to win. Newton will likely rack up plenty of yards, but our D has been stingy this year. Even last week, the Eagles had 4 gifts hand-given to them by Rex and our D only held them to 2 TDs. The Panthers are not a Vick/McCoy/Jackson/Maclin team...they're basically just Newton. Their RBs are decent but nothing special. Steve Smith is not what he used to be.

We should win.

I think this is a win. Think Cam is good, but also more game film on him. They will get some points, but our O will look better under Beck.

Sorry fellas, we lose this game. I see the Panthers winning by two scores. Offensively, we only put up 17, and that's being optimistic. I fear that this loss will set the tone for another lackluster season that we have all been accustomed to. The loss last week showed that we are indeed the same old Skins. I can honestly see us losing the next three games. Hard to win when you can't score.

I live in Charlotte, and have to say Cam has been a lighting rod of excitement for Panthers football. Totally different vibe about this team than in the past. saying that, I CANT STAND THEM!

Bottom line, if Cam is able to get some confidence and hit Smith on some deep balls we will be in trouble. He gets hot and he just turns into a different guy. making throws all over the field, running around, and then the offense in general gets hot. They have two VERY capable running backs and we couldn't stop one capable running back last week. Two decent TE in shockey and Olson which Carolina has finally figured out they need to use them.

I hope no one is overlooking these guys. They have been competative with everyone they have played this year. Scores may not indicate it, but they have played hard and passionate football this season (missing key starters) just given up points late in games that deflated them.
