Scud's Stud (Week 10 @ Miami)
I'll keep this short and sweet. Hard to find studs when you lose your 5th game in a row, this time to a sorry 1 win squad.
Ryan Kerrigan: Love this guy. His sack/fumble was awesome. He continues to be a weekly beast. Definitely a strong candidate for DROY. Leonard Hankerson: 8 catches for 106 yards. Welcome to the NFL, rook. Maybe if we can get you a QB you'll turn into that #1 WR this team has been lacking for so many years. Perry Riley: A solid effort starting over Rocky today. 7 solo tackles. That's all I got. |
Re: Scud's Stud (Week 10 @ Miami)
ill throw in stephen bowen because he recovered the fumble. yes, we actually recovered a fumble we forced so i have to throw him in
|
Re: Scud's Stud (Week 10 @ Miami)
Hank, Kerrigan, and Riley for sure
|
Re: Scud's Stud (Week 10 @ Miami)
Nice to see Hankerson and Riley growing. Really impressed with both.
|
Re: Scud's Stud (Week 10 @ Miami)
Hank's doing alright. It's good to see. I'm woman enough to eat some crow. I didn't think he'd make any progress this season. Hopefully he keeps it up.
|
Re: Scud's Stud (Week 10 @ Miami)
I'm at the point where I'm just excited to see the youngsters getting chances and taking advantage of them. With that said these three guys (Hankerson, Riley, Kerrigan) were the only thing to get excited about today.
and yeah in terms of Hanks progression he looks at least a year ahead of where I thought he'd be. |
Re: Scud's Stud (Week 10 @ Miami)
I agree with Scud.
I'd add: Barnes - not perfect but improved Cofield - got a better push up the middle |
Re: Scud's Stud (Week 10 @ Miami)
I want to say Helu, but his touches were, once again, limited.

Re: Scud's Stud (Week 10 @ Miami)
The schedule is a stud because we can't lose to the Colts.

Truth. The Colts have already given up 300 points against and we probably couldn't break 16 points against them because of Freeney and Mathis. |
Re: Scud's Stud (Week 10 @ Miami)
Kerrigan
Riley Hankerson As horrible as the skins look right now, I see light at the end of the tunnel. I think the team will see a drastic improvement when Moss, Paul and Brown return healthy. The only thing that might derail things is if Trent Williams and Fred Davis get suspended. |
Re: Scud's Stud (Week 10 @ Miami)
Kerrigan - hands down a better player than Orakpo(who's a one trick pony) I'm glad we drafted him.
Hankerson - about time he's come around and made a impact. Riley - watching Macintosh was annoying to say the least. |
Re: Scud's Stud (Week 10 @ Miami)
WHOA Idk about Hands down better than 98

Really? The guy wasn't really playing that well. He was alright in the run game and a straight up liability in pass pro. Not that Locklear is that great, but I certainly wouldn't label Jamaal Brown as a difference maker. |

U guys are forgetting Rak is a 2 time Pro Bowler with 10 sacks per season, Kerrigan is having a great rookie yr but he's not HANDS DOWN better than Brian |

A lot better than Locklear. |

He is clearly a better all around player than Rak is. |

Maybe still I'm just happy we have both young good OLB's HAIL! |

He lucked into that pick on a 3rd and 31 they had no business throwing on. He couldn't cover me, right now in my easy chair. Scud has it right, Kerrigan, Hankerson, Riley all played well. That's all though, no props for losing to a one win team. |

Re: Scud's Stud (Week 10 @ Miami)
Riley can be reckless, love his energy though.
|
Re: Scud's Stud (Week 10 @ Miami)
Hall had a good game. I don't recall Marshall getting the best of him one-on-one. Marshall and Moore abused the safeties though.

lol....did you watch the game at all? |
Re: Scud's Stud (Week 10 @ Miami)
Yeah can't wait for our safties to be healthy again
|
Re: Scud's Stud (Week 10 @ Miami)
I thought Doughty and Landry both played very well today. Wilson had a pretty good game as well.
Kevin Barnes has gotten a lot better in recent weeks. While I think it appeared at first that the secondary was crap today, a lot of the passes against it were just a result of limited pressure and/or the LBs not getting depth. Everyone in the secondary got beat at least once, but that was it for most of them. |

I agree with this. The difference between Rak and Kerrigan is that Kerrigan plays the run just as well as he rushes the passer. Rak doesn't play the run nearly as well as he plays the pass. |

Yes, I did. I'm about to watch it again. Did you see it? |

I love having them both - each makes the other better since opposing offenses can't just key on one pass rusher anymore.

Re: Scud's Stud (Week 10 @ Miami)
Rocca is our team MVP, Seriously.
Our best punter since Reggie Roby! |
Re: Scud's Stud (Week 10 @ Miami)
Way too early in either of there careers to say one is a better player than the other for sure. Also we dont know what the coaches ask of each of them. Either way both are beasts and I am very happy to have two bookends for years and years to come!
NC Skins, on Hankerson you said it was about time? He is a rookie 3rd round receiver, he obviously needed/needs some polishing before he can make a huge impact. I would agree that it was about time we gave him a chance to show what he can do but you make it seem like he has been a disappointment somehow. On the game yesterday, I had previously said that I was going to watch the rest of the season looking for improvement in our young players like Kerrigan Hankerson and Helu (amongst others) instead of just caring about wins like I normally would. From that standpoint yesterdays game was not that bad. They had 2 rookies have great games for them which helps give me some hope for the future! Also I think Davis and Williams will not be suspended, just fined. |

He was dead last on the WR depth chart several games into the season (even behind another rookie) and was inactive for several of those games as well. It is about time he showed up. |

Fasano beat him twice though... |
Re: Scud's Stud (Week 10 @ Miami)
Kerrigan for sure played a good game.
Hankerson had his best game ever. Riley made some good plays - - I think he had 3 tackles for losses - - and got a lot of attention from color commentator, Tim Ryan, early on. However, in the second half I think he kind of disappeared a bit. Someone said above that Sav Rocca is the team MVP so far. I don't think that is fair given the season-long performances of Kerrigan and/or Fletcher but it is indeed a sad situation where any fan might think that the punter was the team's MVP at any point in November. |
Fasano beat him twice though...
Yup. Our cornerback situation is pretty bleak. We really don't have a good cover corner on this team. I wouldn't mention any corner in this thread this week. Unless you want to give props to Barnes for nearly dropping a ball that was thrown right to him by Matt Moore... |

Yep i didnt think Hank was going to contribute this season at all. Ill share a plate of crow with you. Hankerson, Riley and Kerrigan were the only things that made this game fun to watch. I wonder why Riley hasnt played more up until this point? And Kerrigan played awesome agian, that defenselss receiver call was complete bs. |
