Torn labrum for Hank...damnit.

re: Hankerson/Golston Placed on IR; Darrion Scott and Stallworth Re-Signed
Okay can we please call it a day so we can get ready to actually rebuild instead of this reload crap? I swear it's like an alcoholic that quits hard liquor but is still willing to drink beer

Ted Leonsis, Washington Capitals owner: 10-points about rebuilding - Joel's Blog
1. Ask yourself the big question: "Can this team--as constructed--ever win a championship?" If the answer is yes -- stay the course and try to find the right formula -- if the answer is no, then plan to rebuild. Don't fake it--really do the analytics and be brutally honest. Once you have your answer, develop the game plan to try to REALLY win a championship. Always run away from experts that say, "We are just one player away." Recognize there is no easy and fast systemic fix. It will be a bumpy ride--have confidence in the plan--"trust and verify: the progress -- but don't deviate from the plan."
|
re: Hankerson/Golston Placed on IR; Darrion Scott and Stallworth Re-Signed
Just when Hank was getting going this BS happens. These injuries are just ridiculous.

re: Hankerson/Golston Placed on IR; Darrion Scott and Stallworth Re-Signed
Wow, and the hits keep coming. Especially after a very good rookie performance by this guy. It takes a lot of work, being a Skins fan. Tough year.

I think we are in "rebuilding" though regardless if anyone will admit it. MS knows this. That's why we drafted like we did last year. He knows and we gotta give this regime a couple/few more drafts. Yes, I hate to always say next year...but next year we'll be better. We'll have some guys back, some guys w/ more experience and another draft under our belts that will include a QB. |
re: Hankerson/Golston Placed on IR; Darrion Scott and Stallworth Re-Signed
So, our remaining healthy WRs are Gaffney, Armstrong, Anderson, and Austin...Gaff is just solid, while the rest are cannot even be considered average. Sigh, more pain before it is over.
And Golston was playing alright too. I guess the wear is going to set in eventually on our Dline. They'll get gassed, and then they get pummeled. |
re: Hankerson/Golston Placed on IR; Darrion Scott and Stallworth Re-Signed
What is a torn labrum and long term what are the chances he gets back to normal.
|
re: Hankerson/Golston Placed on IR; Darrion Scott and Stallworth Re-Signed
How is this team/franchise not snake bitten? The bad luck never ends, never.
|
re: Hankerson/Golston Placed on IR; Darrion Scott and Stallworth Re-Signed
Great, I needed another kick in the head.

Isn't it a shoulder problem

It's a torn hip labrum. I believe Caron Butler had the same issue a few seasons ago with the Wiz. Shanny said its a 4 month recovery period. It shouldn't affect him next season. Hip labral tear - MayoClinic.com |
re: Hankerson/Golston Placed on IR; Darrion Scott and Stallworth Re-Signed
this team is curse. epic fail year after year
|
re: Hankerson/Golston Placed on IR; Darrion Scott and Stallworth Re-Signed
Man Shanny should have told Snyder that it will take at least ten years to rebuild, not five. It looks like we had a great draft and there careers are already over. All we need now to hear is that Kerrigan is out.

Careers over? Who? Sucks that Jenkins and Hank got hurt, but they'll be right back in the fold next season. |
re: Hankerson/Golston Placed on IR; Darrion Scott and Stallworth Re-Signed
Of course why not right? I swear being a fan of this team sucks
|

Some info on the injury...
Hip labral tear - MayoClinic.com I guess the question will be if he needs surgery, which this pages says it takes 4 to 6 months to recover. Ugh, poor Hank. |
re: Hankerson/Golston Placed on IR; Darrion Scott and Stallworth Re-Signed
There careers are over? Holy crap guys, I'm pissed too but can we settle down with the over reactions?

re: Hankerson/Golston Placed on IR; Darrion Scott and Stallworth Re-Signed
Crazy. I just wondering about an hour ago what the status of Hankerson's injury was. That sucks. David Anderson time!
As for Golston, his Redskins career is probably done. Surprised he even lasted this long quite honestly. Let's see what Balmer can do |

Seems like the Redskins always have worst case scenarios. I wonder if Malcom Kelly is healthy. I wonder if they could sign him. What do they have to lose, other than another injury settlement. |

Recovery time will depend if he needs surgery or not. |

Funny, but it might take more than 5 years to rebuild. |
re: Hankerson/Golston Placed on IR; Darrion Scott and Stallworth Re-Signed
great. hankerson is out. just fantastic. one of our few bright spots is done for the season. would have been nice to get him some more experience this season so he could be a big time contributor next season...

re: Hankerson/Golston Placed on IR; Darrion Scott and Stallworth Re-Signed
Not two weeks ago, people were talking about Hankerson is a bust who only cares about playing video games and talking about it on Twitter...and now he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Hilarious |
re: Hankerson/Golston Placed on IR; Darrion Scott and Stallworth Re-Signed
Man, every year it seems like we get more injuries than most teams. Makes me wonder if there's something in the redskins culture that de-values injury prevention when it comes to training.

Hilarious
I hear what you are saying, but he had 4 receptions last week and 8 this week. Those are significant in the light of the crap we have been dealing with. |
re: Hankerson/Golston Placed on IR; Darrion Scott and Stallworth Re-Signed
Ugh this season is just hit after hit! At least we had the first four weeks! I will always remember that....

I'm not saying he hasn't played well. I'm saying it's funny how people are quick to dismiss a player just a few months into his NFL career and then suddenly they're crying over his injury. Patience is not a virtue for Redskins fans |

We also tend to not look at the big picture and have knee-jerk reactions to everything. |
re: Hankerson/Golston Placed on IR; Darrion Scott and Stallworth Re-Signed
Rebuilding the Redskins and rebuilding the Capitals is not an apples to apples comparison. Two different animals altogether
|
re: Hankerson/Golston Placed on IR; Darrion Scott and Stallworth Re-Signed
What the f man. Damnit! How are you supposed to see what your young players got if they can't get on the field. That sucks hard, but oh well. Let's hope he doesn't pull a Landry and decide not to get surgery on it if it would probably be better if he did get surgery on it. Either way, I hope he works his ass off so he can keep learning and getting better next year.

Disagree. I might be overlooking something big though (and it being a different sport isn't overlooked), what do you see that makes this apples to oranges? |

Size and rabidity of the fanbase, value of the franchise, spotlight on the sport as a whole... |

well, I thought we'd put him away and try him again next year after preseason... he actually beat my expectations (lots of great play/awful play snaps though). oh well... If we can't beat MIA I don't know how we're going to win more than 1-2 more this year. looking back the switch to the 3-4 still seems dumb (we had 2 great 4-3 DEs) since we had to replace guys we already had (rocky and fletch looked better in the 4-3 too). we let JC and rogers go and replaced them with crap. so even though we've brought in good players, just as many have left due to scheme or money. (and AH/DM were epic failures too). |
re: Hankerson/Golston Placed on IR; Darrion Scott and Stallworth Re-Signed
Lol, OMG, just when there was any semblance of positivity being able to watch a rookie WR stepping up and learning to play in the NFL...... He gets a season ending injury.
Soooo who does the team bring in? Put on the PS? Do they move the other rookie up from the PS? Harrumph. |
