Maybe not thread worthy in and of itself, but this means every draft pick has spent at least some time on the active roster this year.

Woo! Now my Aldrick Robinson rookie card will increase slightly in value! I think it's a sign. My dad gave me a stocking stuffer for xmas with like 200 NFL trading cards in it, and the only Redskin in there was Aldrick Robinson. This can only mean good things.

On the other hand though sucks to be Ryan Torain. Well at least we'll always have the nicknames ATV. What a brief love affair that was.

Yeah, so when we dont draft a qb and hear that Crompton is our future QB, we have some sense of what he is talking about. I see no reason why you cant cut Beck and promote him.

Who is Crompton?

Torian had one game where he ran hard and made some good cuts. Other games he spent too much time in the backfield. Wish him well, but can't say its unexpected.

Aldrick Robinson...got some speed right? Get him in there.

This is a good move. I think it could have been done earlier in the year. David Anderson and Donte Stallworth have been good in the last six games or so, but Aldrick Robinson might have a future here.

Nah, Stallworth played well in the preseason too. Anderson had one game. Banks is the guys holding the other young WRs back and he hasn't proved his worth in the process. It hasn't all been his fault though.

Seriously when B Mitch said he wanted to see him last week, i turned the TV off. We've seen Beck, I dont want to see QB play worse than that, and Beck's QB play hurt my soul.

Weak runner who falls down easily at initial contact. Never can get the extra yards.
Horrible receiving back. Can't catch cleanly and lacks agility.
Speed or "burst" terribly lacking. Slowest back of the bunch.
And poor vision. Can't find the right lanes and makes his O-line look worse than they already are.

These are the reasons why he's gone.

Stallworth made the team cuz he had one spectacular play against the Tampa scrubs. He was hardly noticeable for the rest of the preseason.

What took Shanahan so long to promote Robinson to the active roster? The kid struggled in preseason along with Hankerson and Royster. Why wait until the final game. If they were going to release Ryan Torain, they might as well done it sooner. Probably after the Patriots game at least. To allow Robinson to have one game to shine is not to evaluate him properly.

I disagree. Stallworth earned his spot with solid play thoughout the preseason, whereas Robinson did not.

Stallworth made the team because he was a guy who could work with the rookie receivers. There is always more than meets the eye. And since the 'skins have resigned him, Donte' has been having impressive games.

I disagree,with your reasons,if by some way shape or form you get him back to running like he did last year(he has been banged up), I'd take him....and he'll be cheap on the cap.

Even when Ryan Torain's is at his best, his top-end speed is not that threatening and he is not a threat as a receiver.

No need for Torain, no big surprise he was cut anyone could have seen this coming. With Helu and Royster we have a couple of nice young backs to build with going forward. I wouldn't be surprised if we look for another back in the later rounds in the draft too.

He couldnt catch at all. Im not sure if it was because of his broken hand though.

Im starting to wonder if Shanahan is gonna go after Hillis next year. I think Hightower will be back next year but may not be as effective as he was before. We need a big rb who can also block.

Helu, Royster, and now Johnson represent a shift in philosophy regarding the appropriate investment in the RB position. They come a dime a dozen, so unless it's an Adrian Peterson level talent, why burn a first day pick on a RB? Get them late and focus on other positions with your first day picks. Love it.

We need to continue the depth building process and get that QB of the future on the roster. Long way to go but I like the way they're allocating resources. Picking a pass rusher in Kerrigan early, and then waiting to get the RBs off the scrap heap is the right approach.

Well, last season, I noticed Keiland Williams and even Mike Sellers being outlets while Torain was hardly involved at all(or at least absolutely unmemorable), so I doubt his hand was a major factor.

I doubt Shanahan will pursue Hillis very hard. He'd probably offer Hillis a low, inexpensive offer that is far below what Hillis wants.

In addition, Hightower's contract is up this year so he is a free agent. To get him back, the Skins will have to do more than just wait for him to show up in Ashburn for the off season rehab program.


A few posts back someone ragged on Royster's pass catching abilities. He may not be a great receiver, but he does not have "stone hands" either. He can be in the game on third and long...
