Tattoo's
So I was considering a Redskins "R" Logo tattoo in the near future, I do not have any tats as of right now, I was looking for some opinions on it.. Cool, Dumb? How many of you have tattoos?
|
Re: Tattoo's
I think it's a good idea. Summo has a huge Redskins logo on his arm I think it is. He could probably talk to you more about Redskins tats. I'm still looking to get my first. I know I wanna get the japanese symbols for love and peace on the backs of my shoulders and then the 3 stars and 2 bars for the DC flag. I'm not sure where that'd look good yet. But I don't want any tats on my arms. Something chicks with arms tattoos, unless its a sleeve, or sleeve-like, I'm not crazy about.

JMO....but tats should be such that you can display or not if you want and depending on the clothes you wear. To much of anything else spells nice long gig with the...Carny circuit. I saw this 70....ish year old woman in the grocery store line the other day with a couple of saggy tats on her arms.....not nice. |
Re: Tattoo's
I've considered doing a scarification.. can't see myself getting ink.

Man I saw the craziest scarification pic on the net. Some guy got a Virgin Mary scene on his back and I nearly yakked. It was intense. I also saw a girl that worked at Starbucks with an ankh on her chest.. I dunno. I'm just not into the scarring thing. |

An ex of mine, post-break up legit begged me to write True Love so they could get it tattooed on them. They got it on the back of their neck. So. My writing is on someone's body for the rest of their life. Creeeeepy. |

Well....I guess the X is having....a little trouble moving on? |
Re: Tattoo's
I have one tattoo so far, and it's a half sleeve on my left shoulder/bicep. I might get more, idk yet, but if I do I won't put it anywhere more visible, like my arms, or somewhere stupid like a neck tattoo. I think there's two kinds of tattooed people in this world, the ones who get them to make a statement about themselves, and to stand out more, and then people who get them in less obvious areas that have more personal meaning. I'm definitely in the latter. I've thought about getting a dc sports related tattoo, but don't see myself doing it, partly because I think it's a dumb idea and whatever team you make a tribute to would have to be a massive part of your life for the rest of your life.
Basically I'm saying if I get a Redskins tattoo and we have 4 more decades of mediocrity under Snyder I'd probably hate to look at it and regret getting it by then. Obviously I'm committed to being a fan of the Redskins but I feel like every time I see a person with a tattoo commemorating a sports team, that person is usually a huge douche who barely knows anything about the team that he's (yes it's usually a guy) paying tribute to. I wouldn't want to come across that way. |
Thanks for the thoughts guys and girls if any have pics show em lol of course if appropriate.. mooby I was thinking the R logo but for two reasons, 1. The skins but also my sons name starts with an R( Roman) so I liked that idea too.. what do u think?

#Hail to the Redskins
It all depends on the person. If you have doubts about it I wouldn't get it, having doubts about now could lead to having regrets about it later. You obviously have the ability to do a crossover/dual theme there. It's all up to you man. Pitch a few ideas to a couple of artists. If you don't have an image in mind, just throw your ideas out there and see what comes back. And if you don't like what comes back, don't get it. Just know that getting a tattoo is a lifelong commitment. Because if you end wanting to get the tattoo removed, just know A. it hurts a hell of a lot worse than getting it done B. it's just as, if not more, expensive than what you paid to get it done and C. it usually doesn't remove all traces of the tattoo, so you still have little reminders of what used to be there. Long story short it's better to be 100% comfortable with what you're getting done before you get it done, because getting it removed sucks in all aspects, and getting it redone isn't that great either. But I think a Skins/son piece is better than these kids who go out and get a sports themed tattoo, only to regret it 5 years later when they don't give a shit about the team anymore because they're stuck in mediocrity. |

I will say it won't be very big and it won't be visible unless I go sleeveless which I only do that for basketball lol.. my bro has probably 10 tats and he regrets most of them so I do no what your saying lol #Hail to the Redskins |

Yeah I wouldn't wanna go too intense.. but I've thought about doing a 21 since Sean passed. |
Re: Tattoo's
summos tat was pretty tight
http://www.thewarpath.net/redskins-locker-room/21372-tattoo-complete.html#post392182 also found this one http://www.thewarpath.net/redskins-locker-room/29093-my-new-redskins-tattoo.html#post540599 and below is a pic of mine, i had posted it before but couldn't find it. i wanted something a little different and went with the 70th anniversary spear with the current feathers and a little burgundy and gold blood on the tip for good measure. the 1 is part of a 13 the 3 is on my other wrist. i also have almost a full sleeve on my right arm, with the main feature being a dragon that goes from my wrist to my shoulder. i love tattoo's and love getting new ones, they can be addictive. i hope to get a pretty big chunk of my arm filled in in the next few months. where are you thinking about getting yours? and how big? |
That's a sick tat dude! I like the arrow look.. I'm probably going too on my arm kinda where summo has his, which his is bad ass too
#Hail to the Redskins |
And not very big

So do you or don't you have a tat? You satrted the thread by saying you didn't have any then here you say they are small. For me personally I do not get putting something like that on my body. I also find it funny when someone says they want to get a tat to be different. |
Re: Tattoo's
I have a small tatoo in between my shoulder blades. It's about 3 inches tall, 2 inches wide. Looks like this, except mine is black.
It's the symbol for Leo. I got it 8 years ago, and I still love it. And I'll always be a Leo, so it's not like it's some fad like a band or a girlfriend. I don't think I'll ever regret getting it. Hope not anyway. Haha. I doubt I'll ever get another one, but who knows. |
Re: Tattoo's
I'm with firstdown on this one.
No cartoons or symbols on me. |

Re: Tattoo's
Summo's tat is really nice quality work. You can see the detail in it very well and keeping black is a nice touch, it makes it stand out more because most sports tattoos are done in the colors of the team.

Re: Tattoo's
Main thing to remember is get the most reputable place you can find.
I never thought I'd get any until the tragedy with my brother a few years ago and now I have two on the insides of my biceps. If you're wondering what they feel like, my first artist said, "This is going to feel exactly like a sunburn someone is touching." That couldn't have been a more accurate description. Funny, once you get your first one, you'll want a ton more. |

Obviously depending on the area you get it done it will hurt more or less. When it starts it hurts more, and then once you get into a rythym it gets easier. For me the place it hurt the most was on top of my shoulder blade, since that was where the skin was closest to the bone. That was a crucial 4 hours lol. |

Nice. Yeah i have no idea what all that zodiac stuff is all about anyways |
Re: Tattoo's
I was just listening to a comedian the other day that said all tattoos should read something to the effect of "I'm a dumb ass." That way when you look down at the tattoo and ask yourself why I got the tattoo you can look at it and say "oh yeah." :D
In all seriousness though if you get a tattoo make sure it's somewhere you can cover it up. |

This cannot be stated effectively enough. I've been to a couple tattoo parties, I know a couple "underground" guys who could do work for me if I wanted them to, and that shit is not legit. I know a guy who got an infection from a tattoo party he went to and got a small piece done at. It looked so nasty and made me very thankful I went with a legit artist at a legit place. As far as my piece goes, I presented the idea to 3 artists, had 3 similar renditions drawn up, and chose the one I thought was best. My artist doesn't even have a picture of my tattoo, I actually meant to send one to him after the third session healed and everything but I forgot and I think it's for the better, because now nobody will be able to do something similar off my design. |

My friend got the Salvation Army logo on her arm when she was younger (she's a Salvationist) and she absolutely hates it. It looks like a prison tattoo, the lines are uneven in some places, (some too thin, some too thick) although you really can't tell the poor quality of it until you look at it up close. But she got it right on her upper arm meaning when we go out to the club or the bar she has to wear shirts with sleeves or else she gets self conscious because she's got a church logo on her arm and feels like she has a standard to uphold. Oy. She uses a balm of some sort to try to lighten it up but its so big nothing's gonna fix that except getting it removed. |
