2012 NFL Uniform Thread - Nike takes over
 

Most of you are aware that Nike is taking over for Reebok for this upcoming season. Uniform unveilings are scheduled for April 1 (no joke) but we should be seeing leaks from now until then.

Here's your first leak, the Miami Dolphins:

It appears the same fabric used on the Pro Combat uniforms in college are being used for the pro teams. Hopefully the designs won't follow.

I expect the Skins and MOST teams to stick to about the same basic designs from 2011. Nike does not control the branding and designs, it must be approved by the league.


I expect the Seahawks and Jaguars to be the teams that really get the Oregon, crazy Nike treatments.

Didn't the Panthers tweak their logo last year? It's a barely noticeable difference to me, but I suppose it's a big one to people who are very familiar with their old logo.

I thought that dolphin sleeve was a beanie when I first saw the thing. I actually like it slightly more now after realizing what it is.

I don't want to be biased, but I think the skins cleats look the best. Patriots look like crap. They are just shoes so it doesn't really matter that much.

From those cleats, it also looks like Seattle is in for new colors. Instead of the slate blue and lime green, it looks like navy blue and kelly green. Upgrade.

Minnesota (why black), Dallas and the Rams look the worst to me.

Us, the Raiders, the Chargers and the 49ers look the best to me. I think SD's is the best-looking.

Why gray on KC? Red and White (and a tiny bit of yellow) are their colors...no gray!

Also, why black on the Colts?

Official unveiling on the 3rd...you're right!

I did see an announcement once that said the 1st.




edit: Confirmed, April 1 is the day that the teams receive the uniforms...so I expect leaks that day.

Yep. There are supposed to be different color options at least so maybe an all-burgundy cap will look less fugly.

I'd like to see the Redskins jersey get the Skins logo on the upper biceps part like the Phins jersey.

Also maybe add some sponsorship stuff like NASCAR......

that hat is so ugly. i like the panthers shoe a lot, it matches my old team colors. i've yet to find a team out here. if i start one, they'll be the skins with appropriate colors

Those stripes bug me too, Monkeydad. They always are off or cover/obscure players numbers. It looks ridiculous.

No but I did hear Mr. Snyder was going to stick it to the League by lowering his ticket prices, lowering the cost of food, and not making fans pay for parking. How does this effect them? less total income = less money to be taken out for the underprivilaged teams.

Yeah, those cheap knockoffs are nasty. I don't even think they are the right shade of burgundy, they actually look darker than the Redskins branded jerseys.

those hats are horrible aside from the flat bill crap. The pro bowl hats were ridiculously ugly, looks like something someone would wear in the 80's.

I dont see them as a big ticket seller for any team.
