That's fun stuff there. I like. |
Re: Who Should The Redskins Draft (Post Your Dream Draft Here)
^ Seems like every mock draft has us taking Audie Cole. Either we really like him or people are lazy.

Lets hope its that people are lazy, because I don't like him. |
Re: Who Should The Redskins Draft (Post Your Dream Draft Here)
My wants with the 3rd round pick in no order:
LaMichael James T.Y. Hilton Ryan Broyles Josh Robinson Mitchell Schwartz Andrew Datko Would be happy with either. |
Re: Who Should The Redskins Draft (Post Your Dream Draft Here)
Hypothetically, if Alshon Jeffrey slips to us in the third round, do you take him? I say no. I don't know one tall WR who dropped in the draft for football reasons who is any good. Mike Williams, Malcolm Kelly, Limas Sweed all come to mind. Too often we look at these guys that look the part and we persuade ourselves into thinking they are better than they are. Alshon has demonstrated a poor work ethic, and with 700something yards he's shown that he is not really that talented of a player.
For who we do pick, obviously I want the best player available...did the Giants really need a DE when they took Pierre Paul? But the positions I would hope that the best player available is are at ILB, CB, and OT. The draft is for the future. Our future has Fletcher, Brown, and Hall all gone with no depth at those positions. The only positions I wouldn't draft (of course unless we get amazing value) are QB and DE. |
Re: Who Should The Redskins Draft (Post Your Dream Draft Here)
The Redskins have to draft for need and select the best possible prospect in every round based on their needs.

I think its actually CB. ILB crop is kinda weak this year, I think you could get UDFA = 5th round value. |

He's a talented guy, but you just can't stink up a Scouting Combine! He should be a 4 - 5 round guy. |

And Tommy Streeter isn't needed. He's taller than Hankerson and faster, but thats it. We need slot guys. Broyles isn't lasting to the 5th round. |

Because of Burfict's pitiful showing at the NFL combine, his terrible interviews, and his lackluster pro day, I can see him going undrafted. In comparison to him, there are other worthy young players that teams will select in the 4th or 5th round before they select Burfict. If Burfict does end up getting drafted, it'll more than likely be in rounds 6 or 7. If he get selected before then, I'll be surprised. |
Re: Who Should The Redskins Draft (Post Your Dream Draft Here)
Skins need another QB. To fall back on Grossman is throwing away the season (no pun intended). A late round pick on a guy like Russell Wilson is good value or at least a UDRFA.

Amen to drafting Russell Wilson! His skill set is a very good fit for this offense. The only thing he lacks is height which, to me, means that some team is probably going to get good value by drafting him on the second day. I do think that it is possible that he may go higher than many of us expect. I'm fine with Rex as the backup and mentor for this season. Wilson can be the #3 guy for now. I think that would be a strong QB unit going forward. |

Here's a 7-round mock draft from friend of the Warpath Dan Shonka (who's a lot of fun to follow on Twitter by the way @Ourlads_Shonka)

I think that Shonka meant "DB" or "CB," not "DC," for Charles Brown. But I like how he has us bulking up the OL. |

I just don't see us drafting a S this year after signing 3 in FA; also didn't see an ILB selected, but overall solid mock. |

I honestly think with our 3rd round and later picks that this FO will go for the BPA approach. If that means a safety, I'm fine with that. |

But we signed those guys to one-year contracts - it's not like we have a lot of confidence in them. Plus Shanallen like 'em young. |

You think we can't get good/decent production out either Jackson, Meriweather, or Williams for 1 year, and draft a better S prospect next year? If anything, signing 3 S's points to the lack of confidence/assurance the FO has in this year's S class. I'm assuming the reason we signed 3 S's is because the FO believes this years safety draft class is mediocre and unimpressive; If we do take a S, l'll be fine with drafting Phillip Thomas, but S is not as pressing a need as it was before the signings of Meriweather, Williams, and Jackson. |

I don't disagree with you to a certain extent. The lack of confidence goes both ways: lack of confidence in the draft class and lack of confidence in the vet market. To me, in such a situation the smart thing is to sign some vets (done) and draft someone and then see what kind of cream rises to the top. |

Amazing the lack of play this thread has gotten in regards to everyone's dream draft, and yet the other thread is full of people's dream drafts.
