Guilty Pleasures: Food

So I'm ordering a pizza tonight and I thought it'd be cool to talk about foods you enjoy. Not something you'd eat on the regular but something you might get on a whim, a diet-breaker persay.

Fast food, homemade recipes (Paula Deen's lovely work), some gruel you throw together. It's all fair game! :)

I'm really.....jonesin' for a kickass steak, Baked P all the way and a dessert that requires P-180X for 6 hours.....or so.
Maybe a little Sushi......

Re: Guilty Pleasures: Food

BBQ and Mexican are my favorites guilty pleasures...beef nachos and pork bbq not minced but a thicker cut any style but North Carolina is probably my favorite.

I'm a sucker for a burger and fries from 5 Guys. My aunt also makes this spinach and cheese dip... But it takes 1 whole block of cream cheese. BLEH.

Re: Guilty Pleasures: Food

5-guys is on my list as well......

Cool Ranch Doritos. I haven't bought them since I de-fatassed last year because I know if I buy a bag I'll eat the whole thing in one or two sittings.

Excellent thread!

My own lasagna (truly the best you or I have ever had and I've dined all over the world :)).
Milkshakes (food). There's a place north of where I live that does real cherry and chocolate milkshakes...outta this world.
Indian food (dot, not feather).

mredskins 04-25-2012 10:41 PM

Didn't we use to have a what is for lunch thread?

I love food threads. I go for a cheesesteak. Obvious choice, I'm in the Philly area.

When a sweet tooth strikes, it's hard to beat a good glazed donut.

Good call. On a rare occasion I've been known to rampage a bucket all by my lonesome.

Re: Guilty Pleasures: Food

Girl Scout cookies get me every time, too. Tagalongs (the chocolate covered peanut butter patties), Do-Si-Dos (peanut butter sandwiches) and the Thin Mints are all like crack to me.

Re: Guilty Pleasures: Food

Now that the game is over I can think of a ton more:

- Basically anything from Jerry's, especially their cheesesteaks (even though they're probably not as good as the ones Scheed gets).
- Ledo Pizza
- Nachos
- Milkshakes (remember that stupid song?)
- Kit Kats

Damn, I really his I had eaten more than a bowl of cereal for dinner.

Dairy Queen Blizzard is high on my list. BBQ, twice-ground burgers, cheese steaks, buffalo wings are always on my mind at one point or another. I've been on a Spicy Nacho Dorito kick recently.

Maybe once every other month I hit ol' 5 Guys. On the off months I hit the best steak and cheese place in town. Both gotta run 50+ grams of fat and over 1000 cals. Can't eat them too often.

I eat steak prob once a week but we do small portions.

I could eat shrimp and/or crab every day.

I'll not be coming back to this thread. I have mentally advised myself that consuming so much good food virtually will be be bad for my health.

Yup. But I wanted to keep this aimed towards the unhealthy, out of the ordinary foods you like, not what you normally like. :)

I'm always a sucker for a high quality burger.

Nachos with the works too.

I agree.

I was thinking of making a anesthetist to the "What Grinds my Gears" thread. This may work. Maybe we could just call it Guilty Pleasures.

Peanut butter ice cream...yum

I was on a Hardee's Chedder Biscuits kick a couple months ago.

General Tso's chicken from the sleaziest Chinese place in town. I don't know how this place is still in business, but once a year I get this and it's FANTASTIC.

Re: Guilty Pleasures: Food

I took my family to Friendly's because my son likes it last weekend after visiting someone in the hospital...for dessert I had an ice cream sandwich made with two thick WAFFLES. I had a scoop of "Nuts over Caramel" and a scoop of "Vienna Mocha Chunk" in it...tasted like breakfast with the waffles and flavors of coffee and syruppy flavors. The thing was about 5 inches thick.

Might have to get that again, or make at home. :D

Better yet, it was only $2.99, probably their cheapest ice cream item.

A fat 16oz Ribeye with my twice deep fried french fries and good bread. You consume this after drinking too much then fall off to sleep.

Re: Guilty Pleasures: Food

Fried chicken for sure. Roy Rogers has some great fried chicken, as does Popeye's. If we order for a party, Giant Eagle grocery stores have awesome chicken.

Ribs are another guilty pleasure for me. Memphis style dry rub FTW. Although if anyone in the DC Area has been to a picnic at Smokey Glen Farm and had the ribs, those are probably my absolute favorite of all time. No sauce, no rub, just salt and pepper and charcoal smoked all day.

SmootSmack 04-26-2012 12:13 PM

Speaking of Roy Rogers. Bacon Cheeseburger back in the day there was on point

YES! I lick them first then eat them. That might be a bit TMI but they got the Buffalo down.
