JLC Moving on From NFL Network
Not too surprising as his contract was up and NFLN has been making several changes.

Wow if these finishes don't say born winner I don't know what else would.
His accolades include a 2004 Associated Press Sports Editors (APSE) Breaking News honorable mention; 1998 APSE Game Story third place finish; and a 1997 APSE News Story fifth place finish |
Re: JLC Moving on From NFL Network
I doubt you'll find a sympathetic crowd for him here. The non-sympathetic crowd includes me lol.

Re: JLC Moving on From NFL Network
I wonder where Charley Casserly may end up. NFL Network?
|
Re: JLC Moving on From NFL Network
What? JLC moving on?? How could NFLN let him go? His predictions were always on target ... <um, hangon> ... his inside knowledge was without peer ... <umm, wait> ... he gave unbiased hard hitting facts ... oh never mind. I got nothing.
He is the worst kind of talking head - repeating warmed over 2nd hand knowledge, pretending he is a reporter when, in fact, he mostly offers opinions. I pretty much flip the channel whenever he starts talking b/c I am sure he is either wrong or I have already heard what he is going to tell me. |

I wouldn't mind seeing him there. Casserly is ok. |

Kudos to JR for taking care of that. |

Full time you mean? He's already on NFLN now. |
Re: JLC Moving on From NFL Network
Yeah full time I mean
|
Re: JLC Moving on From NFL Network
JaLa is no Shefter, Mortensen, Clayton, or Glazer. Not sure what I see about this that CBS likes more than Casserly. I actually really like Casserly in the role he played for them and how NFLN uses him. It's not as much insider info as it is a little bit insider but more insider perspective. How does hiring a second rate insider make that better? They'd be better off trying to steal one of the big guys. Hell Breer would be a better get.
Yeah full time I mean
Maybe a reduced role for Lombardi??? I like Casserly more... although Lombardi isn't terrible. |

Give the guy his due. He is outstanding at breaking news stories which have already been broken by others. Without JLC, what are we to do when we want obsolete news? |

.....or me. Guy is a complete clown. |
Re: JLC Moving on From NFL Network
JLC is awful. Gets paid to give opinions supported by made up sources or "people familiar with the thinking of" or "people around the league". Can't believe he found another network to pay him for this...
|
Re: JLC Moving on From NFL Network
I would edit the title for us fans- NFLN moves on from JLC.
I hate male Lisa Lobe's aka JLC. What a hack. |

SmootSmack:
You have been in and around sports TV coverage and sports media for a while now. How would you rate Jason LaCanfora professionally? Just curious to know how someone "in da bidness" might view him... |
Re: JLC Moving on From NFL Network
JLC should join Vinny Cerratto on AM radio. They deserve each other.
I always remember when JLC was a Skins writer and he always quoted a high ranking confidential source in the Redskins organization that was Cerratto. Worst kept secret ever. Plus once Vinny bag of doughnuts left that unnamed source did too. My favorite JLC NFLN moment was when he predicted and guaranteed Albert Haynesworth would get traded during the draft a few years ago. When it did not happen JLC looked so pissed. Hilarious. |

But his whiffs are so extreme, and more importantly his arrogance is so big that it overshadows everything else. If you can't admit that you're wrong and you can't credit others for getting something you couldn't you're not likely to earn much respect. And that's his main problem |

Re: JLC Moving on From NFL Network
In other news, looks like Scott Van Pelt staying at ESPN and Michelle Beadle going to NBC Sports (sorry for the thread hijack...of the thread I started)

LOL :laughing- |
Re: JLC Moving on From NFL Network
Gotta say this makes all NFL Network shows immediately more watchable. I find myself turning away when he comes on the screen. I watch NFLN and Fox on Sunday mornings during the season so I won't have to see him anymore. Good riddance.
