Tight end wise....anyone know who Griffin is throwing to the most?
Or do they spread it around a lot in OTAs? |

Yaay...Rex highlights: If Rex does have to come in and play, the playbook will have to be tweaked substantially. He never looked very fast rolling out but after watching RG3 on the move and the watching him, well, they’re not on the same planet. Rex heaved a wounded duck to Niles Paul, who was open down the sideline. Paul made the catch but a starting NFL defensive back would have knocked it down or picked it off. We get good Rex/bad Rex in practice, too. He had some great touch on a fade that dropped right into Paul’s arms in the end zone. |
Re: Redskins OTAs Continue
^ I love the way RG1 and RG3 are getting most of the attention. It lets Cousins handle his business with out getting all Kirked out. :>

From redskins.com: Quarterbacks Rex Grossman and Kirk Cousins were each given and opportunity to lead a 3-minute drive at the end of practice.* Griffin III was given only two minutes in the hurry-up offense. Cousins went first, and completed a pass to running back Morris, who fell, recovered and streaked down the sidelines.* Cousins' drive stalled two plays later when cornerback Chase Minnifield and lineman Delvin Johnson corralled him for a "sack." |

Wasn't able to do it. Was trying to work it into my schedule, but had to help out a family member. Only good thing is, it's OTA's after all.

Rex had a nice pass to Paul in the endzone for a TD. RG3 threw to 3 different Receivers to get down the field then on his last pass with 7 seconds left his pass to the endzone was tipped twice before being intercepted. Re: Redskins OTAs Continue
Why isn't Hankerson going to participate until training camp starts? Still rehabbing his injury?
Preventative measure, hopefully? I'm really looking forward to him turning into our number one receiver.......even with Garcon and Morgan here, I think if he can get some good vibes going between him and RG3, he could become our best offensive weapon before years end (other than Davis) |
Re: Redskins OTAs Continue
They're just easing Hankerson back in.

Mike Shanahan has said that he's fully healthy. They have given him limited reps during OTAs because he's coming back from that injury. It's safer to ease his load until training camp begins. |
Re: Redskins OTAs Continue
I am not liking the fact that I have heard very little praise of RG3 since the first OTA. I realy dont like that there are reports of Rex Grossman being the highlight todays OTA's. I even like the fact that the biggest praise of RG3 came from RG3, less.

I don't think there's any need to panic. I also don't think having Rex play poorly is what we want. Not as Redskins fans |

Yeah. I heard that he was very fast for a safety. Have you seen his highlights on Youtube? He has potential and has the abilities that LaRon Landry possessed. We'll see how Berstein develops. |

Are there any whispers Griffin is getting too much thrown at him scheme/playbook wise? Or is it widely accepted his rough edges are just a result of the adjustment time toward a pro offense? |
Re: Redskins OTAs Continue
I didn't really know where to post this, but I went to buy the NFL preview magazines today. Something that really caught my eye was in the Lindy's magazine they rank their top 10 players at each position with one category for 3-4 DE's. And coming in at the number 10 spot was Jarvis Jenkins. Injury and all that magazine really thinks he's one of the best in the league, AND better than Bowen or Carriker who didn't make the list. (Cofield came in at 8 for NTs)

I'd expect Rex to look good at this point. He knows the offense and they're running mostly 7 on 7 stuff. I really wouldn't be concerned at this point. RG3 is a rookie learning a new offense, and it's June. |

I haven't heard any indication that he's been given more than he can handle at this point |

this made me laugh: Shanahan stopped practice for a full team meeting after consecutive false starts. One was by LT Trent Williams. “You work all the way down field, everybody is tired,” Shanahan said. “That is where the concentration level has got to kick in. You know we weren’t very good in that [red-zone] area in offense last year, and we scored a touchdown on the first play, and we have a running back that steps offside. We talk about how that’s the difference between winning or losing during the game.” So what happened on the first snap after the meeting? NT Barry Cofield jumped offsides. |

Re: Redskins OTAs Continue
I liked this:
Cornerback depth is a question entering training camp, which is why an undrafted rookie such as Chase Minnifield deserves our attention. I noticed two positive plays of his Thursday morning. He stayed stride-for-stride with TE Niles Paul on a route to the right sideline, and the play went to the other side of the field. Even more impressive: In goal line drills, he quickly latched on to WR Josh Morgan, who broke out of a stack. Morgan was not open crossing the back of the end zone, and the pass intended for him was overthrown. For a rookie such as Minnifield to know his assignment against a formation designed to confuse the secondary is an auspicious sign. |
