Re: NFL Playoff Predictions
NFCE - Giants (only because Philly and Dallas will have bad years and we're one year away)
NFCN - Packers NFCS - Falcons NFCW - 49ers wildcards: Bears, Redskins AFCE - Patriots AFCN - Ravens AFCS - Texans AFCW - Broncos (won division last year with Tebow...now have Manning!) wildcards: Bengals, Chiefs Super Bowl: 49ers over Texans The 49ers have an incredible defense and offensive line, plus a dangerous rushing attack and they have really stocked up on WRs to help Alex Smith with Crabtree, Manningham, Randy Moss. In Harbaugh's first year, they went 13-3 and were a fumbled punt return away from going to the Super Bowl. The Texans made a deep run with a rookie, unknown, 3rd-string QB. Same strengths as San Fran, RBs Foster and Tate, defense, offensive line and Andre Johnson who's one of the best in the league if he can stay on the field this year. The Redskins will take the last Wild Card spot at 9-7. Next year, we'll take the Division and maybe win a playoff game or two. RGIII, year 3, Super Bowl contenders. |

Re: NFL Playoff Predictions
Interesting San Diego seems to be a "comeback" team making the playoffs. I think of any division AFC West is the biggest toss up...and maybe the most under rated. Kansas City is loaded with talent all over the field. Denver with the Peyton effect, Oakland who can play really well at times, but seems unable to sustain it, much like San Diego.

Re: NFL Playoff Predictions
With Ryan Mathews' health in question and the loss of Vincent Jackson, I don't see a huge leap for them. Norv is just a curse. :D
I see the Steelers finally regressing and the Bengals leapfrogging them in the division with all of their young talent and solid D. The Chiefs will have a good year, they made some nice pickups this offseason, however, Denver finished ahead of them last year with Orton and Tebow so I have to expect them to do it again with Peyton Manning. I'm also leaving the popular pick of the Lions out of my predictions. Stafford had a monster year last season but that's also the first season he's been healthy. Chances are, based on his history, he won't play 16 games. Jahvid Best is a mess physically, LeShoure is suspended AND injured...their running game won't be a factor, so it's going to be another year of Calvin Johnson carrying the offense. A huge factor is going to be the team's, especially the defensive players' lack of discipline on and off the field. How many arrests have they had this offseason? How many suspensions will they get this year? Suh? Avril? They have a ton of talent, but I don't see the team holding it together for a whole season. |

I don't disagree. It's just funny how for the last three seasons we've been in the wildcard hunt according to this forum. Truth is we have a rookie quarterback, an unstable line and a secondary that could challenge for the worst in football. RG3 is the key here, if he hits.. We're golden, otherwise it could get ugly. |
Re: NFL Playoff Predictions
I don't like doing this when we are not even down to 53 on the roster, but here goes:
NFCE: Eagles NFCW: 49ers NFCS: Falcons NFCN: Packers Wildcards: Lions, Giants AFCE: Pats AFCW: Denver AFCN: Ravens AFCS: Texans Football's Final Four: NFC: 49ers, Packers AFC: Texans, Pats Super Bowl: Texans over 49ers. |

Re: NFL Playoff Predictions
I doubt the Eagles make the playoffs. Vick won't stay healthy. He's gotten injured every year since rejoining the league. This year won't be any different.

Re: NFL Playoff Predictions
Just once, I want the Eagles to have a shitty draft. It seems like they get steals and/or make great picks every damn year.

Sorry, but Lotus was Slacking... NFC East Champs -- Skins (Garcon catching the Division sealing TD and busting his arm in celebration) NFC Champs -- Skins (Orakpo tearing an ACL stopping Ahmad Bradshaw at the 1yd line as time expires) SB Champs -- Skins (RGIII broken collar bone after head butting the Superdome in celebration) Gotta have positives and cynical all in the same post man come on! |

The offense right now is tailored around Vick. He's a running QB. He's a left-handed QB. Bringing anyone else in will throw everything and everyone off. This is not the savior of the Eagles: |

Re: NFL Playoff Predictions
Right, god forbid I bring some realism into the thread.
Last I checked, only one or two guys picked the Skins to be wildcard teams before you "brought some realism" and several others hadn't put the Skins in the mix at all. Last year the Giants went 9-7 barely making the playoffs, and that happens with some outside the box team every year. It's not beyond the pale of realism to think that if things break right this year the Skins could get in, and if the division plays out along the lines of last year, a couple well timed end of year wins could put the Skins as division champs. I wouldn't put money on it, I wouldn't personally pick it, but to say that dumping on the 3rd year build of Shanahan's team is "bringing realism", just seems like being a downer for downers sake. As for the normal concerns which feed your realism. Our secondary certainly could be our undoing. Our line, well I expect it to be middle of the road, not great. Rookie qb's of late have not been as ill prepared as others in the past, and I expect RGIII will have an overall positive year, add that to the fact that we will not have 3 Beck games, and I think optimism is finally a realistic realism. |
