Griffin vs luck game day thread
 

Sorry if I jumped the gun on this one, I was wondering what will happen if a thunder storm hits as predicted by the weather channel. I'll be attending and I bought tickets off eBay and im gonna be very pissed of they cancel the game and I lost 100 bucks on tickets plus cost of gas ect. Hopefully someone knows the policy. Thanks!!

Anyways I'm hoping griffin bounces back and looks great and we make Luck look terrible. Skins win 31-6

I had tickets had to sell them, forgot had a wedding to go to. If both rookie QB's play within there system should be a good game, but if one of them tries to be a superstar they are going to have an ugly game IMO.

I wish Crawford would get the start over Griffin. Preseason is the time for evaluation and that would be a great trial-by-fire.

To the original question. It's highly unlikely the game is cancelled completely. Maybe shortened if lightning gets close in the 4th quarter, but I only remember one Philadelphia preseason game where lightning caused any type of delay. Overall I imagine it's a safe bet the stadium will be pretty full and the game will go on.

I think Luck will end up looking outstanding against our D as he just went against the Steelers and got a preview of what we might do, and Griffin will be pretty good to very good. Should be fun to watch.

I wouldn't be totally surprised to see Hall with a pick or two, as Hall will be trying to disguise and grab, but I expect that the next series after a pick, Hall will be burnt for repeated long gains.

Does anybody else here secretly hope Cedric Griffin plays bad enough to get cut? Because I haven't liked much of anything I've seen of him from his first two games, and it's not like he's a young developmental guy or anything. He's like the Joey Galloway of the defense, old and doesn't contribute anything.

-How will Chris Chester look coming off injury
-How will a less then 100% Trent Will look
-Will they shake up the OL match-ups? Do we get to see Willie Smith w/ the 1st unit?

o Better execution:
-there were some missed pass protection assignments from the RB and TE position

o The 1st unit offense needs to get into rhythm
-more tempo
-more passing game reps
-more targets and catches to our 1st unit receiving corps
-get Griffin in rhythm

o Excited to see more of Alfred Morris (a mini-Michael Turner imo)

No, but first round of cuts is due by Monday, so we should see about 15 players released. Hopefully he's amongst them.

DHall wants Cedric Griffin to make the team, that way he doesn't have to get all the blame and be the most hated player on our defense.


I want to see Niles Paul catch a pass from RG3, dude drops the first couple of passes thrown his way, then shines with the 2nd and 3rd teamers

The only hope I have is that Griffin gets at least 20 passing attempts this game. I understand he is a rookie and all, but he should have more than 14 pass attempts thus far. He needs the reps to get comfortable. Our running game is still a question, but it seems that Royster will be our starter by default, so let Griffin get some meaningful reps, and not just quick passes and checkdowns. Let him go through some progressions and pick his spot in this game, at least for 7 or 8 series.

Will the skins actually run some of their offense? The colts have been, I guess it all depends on the coach?

Think it will still stay relatively vanilla, perhaps a bit more french vanilla than vanilla bean.

As for Griffin, I'd rather he play well. Because even if Crawford plays well enough than who's playing well enough to be in Crawford's spot? Barnes? Thompson?

Barnes and to a lesser degree Thompson>Griffin.

Griffin was arguably the worst CB in the league last year and he doesn't look to be giving up that title.

After last weeks debacle against the Bears, I have a feeling that the offensive line will surprise a lot of people this game. I'm concerned about Polumbus though. Gettis and LeRibeus are gaining experience and this should be the game where they play their best football. Let's hope Griffin III doesn't get sacked.
