Sapp to Oakland

damn I was hoping we would get him
 |
heh, are you serious, Matty?
Im glad to see him go elsewhere. I thought he was practically a bengal though! |
Oakland will have a nasty d line with ted washington and sapp. Who are they going to double team, someone who weighs more then 350 or sapp who is an unbelieveable dt.
|
TWashington and WSapp will get in each others way. So much for a youth movement under Norval.

yeah, it just looks like they r getting older and fatter. |
The plan is to use Warren Sapp as a defensive end along with John Parella, with big Ted Washington in the middle in a 3-4 on running downs. Washington would come out on passing downs and Sapp and Parella would go into the middle on a 4-3. Buddy Ryan's son is the defensive coordinator in Oakland now, having moved over from New England.

Did anyone else remember hearing Sapp say he had his championship and now he was looking for the $?
|
Sapp is NOT the player he was. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that McFarland has carried him the past season. He's still good but he isn't worth the hype of the money. I am SO PLEASED that the Skins didn't sign him. It means progress is being made. Last year we would have signed him and outbid ourselves for his services. Let his fat ass block the road into Oaklnad and his fat mouth block out the sun.

http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/7165126 "I think people just viewed me as a Buccaneer for life," Sapp said. "They've cut another Buc for life in (John) Lynch and they aren't negotiating with me at all. I'm an unrestricted free agent and I'm open to offers and visits from whoever wants to bring me in. At this point, I want to finish my career with the right team and the right situation for me and win another championship. That last part is what I'm after. |
Well i guess the watercooler chatter at work was BS.
Thanks Smooty |
Sapp isn't even the best DT in the league anymore. I'll take Kris Jenkins over him any day.
|
Ted Washington and Warren Sapp means that Ok does not have to worry about tackle for a while.
|
they wont have to worry about DT for a year maybe 2
|
I'm so glad we didn't get Sapp. We have made the mistake of getting "great" players and then they come in here and stink up the joint. Remember Deion Sanders? Jeff George? Bruce Smith? Dana Stubblefield? Sean Gilbert?
Eventhough Oakland's D-fense might be better now....they will still go 6-10. I guarantee that! |
These are not exactly a rebuild with youth move! Seems to me they should have gutted the team and gone young.
|
JW.... Al Davis doesn't know the meaning of young. Ever since they cryogenically froze him he's gone after vets.
|
Ahhh, Oakland....the NFL retirement community. Where all soon to be ex-players go to wind down....
Nice of Al to provide this service to the NFLderly. :cheeky-sm |
In addition to old guys, the Raiders added a dumb guy too. They signed Dwayne Rudd. Remember him? He's the guy who got a penalty on the last play of the game for throwing his helmet that gave the Chiefs an extra play and they kicked a field goal to beat the Browns. Just what the Raiders needed, another undisciplined player!
|
Sportscurmudgen!
Didn't the Raiders also overpay him??? I cannot wait to see My son-in-laws Raiders coached by Deborah Norville go below .500 again!
