2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
(My annual request for a sticky)
Wondering if the Redskins game (or some other unimportant game you want to watch for some unknown reason) will be on TV in your local market? Check out the maps on this site. Click where you live and it will tell you what station to watch. http://www.the506.com/nflmaps/ Thank you. |
Re: 2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
I can't tell if I'm in the red or green...it's so close.
Green = Eagles vs. Browns :vomit: Red = REDSKINS GAME! |
Re: 2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
What's with the cities of Houston, Nashville, Minneapolis and New York being designated gray for "NO GAME PER NFL RULES"? Wow.
|
Re: 2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
Joy.....I get to watch the Lions again.

Their teams are playing on CBS which prevents FOX from showing a double-header in their neighborhoods. On weeks when CBS has a double-header you find situations like that reversed. |
Re: 2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
I GET TO WATCH GRIFF'S FIRST NFL GAME LIVE ON TV!
beats avoiding all things nfl on sunday, til after the snf game (9pm pst/12am est), and watching it on game rewind. hail! |
Re: 2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
Good thing people in Alaska and Hawaii can see our game haha..
neat stuff though with the TV map. |
Re: 2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
Griffin might as well be playing on the national stage according to those maps. Here's hoping the Skins put on a great show (ending with a W of course)

Re: 2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
They're still saying TBA for my local listings. It's killing me.
If I can't watch the Skins, I'll get to see Mike Vick go into the DAWG POUND in Cleveland. :D |

Even if your area is the right color for a Skins game on the map your local fox/cbs still has to pick it up. They can choose to just show a movie. Hopefully with the excitement of RG3 and the Skins improving B-more will show more Skins games. |
Re: 2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
Is anybody else having trouble trying to access the506? I'm trying to see why Fox is listing Eagles/Browns as my local broadcast, and the website isn't loading.

Re: 2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
Well, Eagles - Browns being shown here. Gotta find a stream.

Re: 2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
Week 2 map is up. Looks like I'm in the purple and will see the Skins on TV this week!
Found a good steam on the Mac last week. Last night, I built a spare PC to hook to my big flat screen so I don't have to watch a 19" field again. I already had all of the spare parts in my closet except for a case and a video card that I had to buy. (build PCs for a hobby) |

I have been burn a few times thinking that 506 map was the end all be all. |
Re: 2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
You keep saying that.
I've never tuned in on a Sunday and saw a movie instead of the NFL. I've tuned in to find the wrong game, but never a movie. That would be an incredibly stupid move by any local affiliate...both because of public outrage and also the advertiser and revenue aspects. I'm not denying that you've seen it happen, but your local station must be run by idiots if they're doing that repeatedly. |
Re: 2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
Yeah never heard of that either. Each weekend CBS and FOX alternates the doubleheader. Maybe that's what he means by showing a movie?
|
Re: 2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
What screws me is if the Ravens are on at 1pm on CBS and the Skins are on at 1pm Fox they will show just the Ravens in my area(B-more County); even though the 506 map shows that the Skins should be on.
|
Re: 2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
NFL Sunday Ticket baby!!!! I live in Southern Kentucky, no such thing as a blacked out Redskins game here. Its Titans country so a lot of crappy Titans games are on, but my channel is locked and loaded on 700ish (whatever the Skins are on each week).
General question for you guys.... When the Redskins play late (like this week) do you watch an early game? And if so, who do you want to watch? |
Re: 2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
Same here, Skins are always on in my house.
I'll usually just watch the redzone channel if the Skins aren't on. |

Re: 2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
Talk about what should be a good football Sunday in the Maryland area. Balt-Phi (hopefully Philly is destroyed) followed by Skins/Rams. The Sunday night game (Det/SF) doesn't thrill me but still ought to be good football.

A movie or info commercials. IF you have Comcast in my area you can get DC Fox but I have Fios now and no DC Fox (first season without Comcast). IT happens like twice a year what I described. I am sure Over the MT or some other Baltimore peps can attest to it as well. Usually if it happens I go to my neighbors or my folks house they both have Comcast or worst case scenario a bar. Definitely not big enough of a problem for me to invest in DTV. Also my days for now at least of watching every game every Sunday is limited because my kids are 4 and 1; so pretty hard and selfish of myself to say on Sunday afternoon ok guys lets all huddle around the TV or daddy can't play with you guys because football is on. There was a time when football was god to me and nothing got in the way of me watching. Funny how kids will change you. =) I all ready pick this week as a game to skip. I will DVR it but of course I will check the score so that will get ruined. |

I have had the same experience, where instead of a game I get a repeated infomercial about the Crazy Slicer or something like that. Such a situation used to really piss me off. Eventually it caused me to get Sunday Ticket. |
if you unplugged cable, and plugged in an antenna, would you get dc fox?
That would work. HD antennas are dirt cheap too. |

Nope signal is too far for me but it may work for others. Tried it once o na fairly good amped outdoor antenna. IT is like two games a year this happens not a big deal; I can literally walk over to my neighbors house and watch whit him. He gets DC Fox and watches every game. |
Re: 2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
So this maybe one of those weeks I was talking about. Be interesting to see what the 506 map says but as of now B-more Fox will be showing CHI vs. JAX @ 1pm instead of the Skins.
Which means I am off to my folks house or the old people next door to watch the game because they all have Comcast. |
I don't really watch redzone channel and if skins aren't on at the time, I'll watch every game pretty much. I love flipping through the games.

I know the rules in the past were that a home game in the home market is the only game on in that time slot. In the case of the Ravens this week, they are on the road, so sometimes if the home market team is on the road there is another game on at the same time on the other network. Some of it has to do with double header rules, so I can't say that with certainty. I live in Tennessee Titans country, so I have Sunday ticket to combat my Skins being on at the same time as the Titans. This week in my case the Redskins play early and the Titans play late, and away, so there will be many options for the regular network viewers this weekend in my area. |

I was thinking of home rules. I know CBS has the double header, which means the Fox affiliate will have to choose one game to show. This week's map isn't up yet, so hard to say who they will show. |
Re: 2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
According to Comcast's on-screen menu, Baltimore is choosing to show Pittsburg v. Philadelphia.

I have FIOS and it shows CHI/JAX. If you live outside of B-more county and have Comcast you can watch DC Fox. I had it for many years but got FIOS this year and they don't care DC Fox. |

Re: 2012 NFL TV Distribution Maps
FFFFFFFF...got the Eagles and Falcons this week instead of Pittsburgh and the Skins.
They should have planned it out better so PA residents can see both PA teams. Then, I could watch the Skins. I'll stream on my flatscreen TV but now I can't DVR it. |
