Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
Its time to move forward and wipe last weeks stink off.
Never know what your going to get with Marvin Lewis and his guys. They got a Ginger at QB and he ain't too shabby. Home opener FedX should go nuts when RGIII is introduced!! |
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
I see another shootout
|
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
Sounds like Josh Wilson might be out with a concussion.
|
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
If Wilson is out that would be a big loss.
The Cinci defense looked awful against Baltimore, I hope we can somehow do the same. As exciting as Griffin is when he runs (and as well as he seems to protect from the big hits) I am really afraid of another cheap shot filled weekend, and would prefer to see more pocket passing from him. I expect him to have a very solid game. I expect the offense to put up about 28 points, if the defense can get any points off turnovers (so far they have done good at the turnover battle) or even a couple short fields, we ought to win. I personally would never punt(seriously even in our endzone, just have Griffin through a bomb and tell him if it aint open throw a 40 - 50 yd pick!) Finally drop Grossman to bring up an extra ST player in |
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
The back end of the Cinci defense is not bad. The front is not good. I hope that we pound them up front.
Likewise, Cinci has some fine skill players on offense but their line is not much to tout. Our defensive front 7 better have a good day. |
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
My understanding is the Bengals will be missing 3 starters on the OL, a S and some other player. Sounds to me like the rams game all over again. I'm sure Zimmer will go after RGIII and on offense 3 step drops and pass.
|
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
Its RG3's home debut. I expect him to have his best game yet against a weak defense and without crowd noise.
|
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
I'm expecting another nail biter.
|
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
I'm hoping the Skins coaches are on their toes throughout the game.
|
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
Those hoping for turnovers won't be able to count on that from the Law Firm (Ben Jarvis Green Ellis) he doesn't fumble. Maybe Dalton will throw some picks. No one can stop the Skins offense, but the Skins can't stop anyone else either. Simple... the skins just need to make one more play than the Bengals. Nothing has ever been easy for this team. Every game comes down to the end. Can we blow a team out for once?
|
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
I hope that this is our best game so far, of this year. Offensively and Defensively we should play better just because we are at home.
|
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
Even if it's not a blow-out, let's at least be kneeling to end it.
|
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
I expect FedEx to be rockin' and RG3 to shine like the North Star.
|

That would be nice for a change but its usually Hail Mary's or record breaking fg attempts that end a Skins game!! |
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
Lots of run game with a smattering of RGIII to <insert_name_of_WR> and we win by 21 points. FED EX will be crazy on Sunday.

Bengals 31
Redskins 23 |

Thanks for playing. I am hoping Moss will go nuts, 3 TD's 100+ yards. Actually, I insist he does. |
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
If the Redskins secondary can quiet down A.J. Green with the front seven pressuring Andy Dalton, the Redskins very well may win this game. Orakpo and Carriker will be missed, but hopefully others can step in for them and play well. Offensively, the Redskins have shown that they can certainly move the football. I hope Garcon is fit enough to play this week. Let's hope Alfred Morris runs hard this week. Let's hope Hankerson catches two TD receptions this week.

Redskins 23
Why? Because AJ Green is just simply a beast. He's basically a young Fitzgerald. Our small CBs won't match up with him well. Gresham is a solid and huge TE going against our smaller LBs. BenJarvis Green-Ellis aka the Lawfirm, has never fumbled in the NFL and is a good goal line back who always seems to get TDs even when the Defense is expecting it. Andy Daltons a good QB. Their defense has some hard hitters at LB and they have one of the best DTs in the league in Geno Atkins. RG3, I don't see scrambling out of that pocket much. Their secondary has some names in it with Leon Hall and Clements as well as pacman and Terrence Newman. Reggie Nelson and Taylor Mays love to lay big hits on WRs. I see AJ getting 2 TDs, that Little Hawkins guy causing our defense more slot fits like amendola last week, Gresham and the lawfirm getting touchdowns as well. |

It will be closer than this. Basically what you're saying is that the Redskins defense don't match up well with the Bengals play makers. First things first is the Redskins defense getting pressure on Andy Dalton. Dalton so far has shown he's a legitimate NFL QB. The Redskins defense and Haslett need to go back to the basics, and that's blitzing guys and having solid coverages down field, much like they were able to do to Drew Brees and the Saints offense and not play that soft zone garbage that allowed one wide receiver to catch 15 fluke passes for 160 fluke yards. The Bengals might have heavy hitters on defense, but so do the Redskins. I wouldn't be surprised if Kyle Shanahan brings the drama with Brandon Banks going deep this week against that Bengals secondary. Terrance Newman is definitely old and slowing, and our wide receivers like Morgan and Garcon are able to get open on him. |
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
The Bengals made the playoffs last year. I'd put them as a slight road favorite. Kinda surprised that the Skins are favored by 4.
|
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
I think it's a fairly evenly matched game. Could come down to a FG.
|
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
This is one we should win...Fed Ex should be rocking. 27-20 Skins

Redskins 23
The score should be reversed unless Josh Wilson doesn't play. A.J. Green will be contained by Josh Wilson - who seems to still be underrated by some fans. Still early on, but Wilson's been quietly playing at a Pro Browl level at this point along with Fletcher, who's quickly on pace for his Pro Browl (snub). Even though the Saints and the Rams scored at least 31 points against the Redskins, there was a blocked punt in each game that directly lead to touchdowns. Assuming that there's not a blocked punt goingagainst the Redskins, you can reasonably predict that the Bengals won't score that much. |

Great targets for a young QB. D will have their hands full again. |

For the 2012 Pro Bowl, he was named as an alternate and there was a lot of chatter after he was snubbed off the initial Pro Bowl roster because he lead the entire league in tackles. |

No, I'm not forgetting that fact at all. But Rob Jackson or Chris Wilson while not on Orakpo's level, are solid fill-ins. Orakpo and Carrkier will be missed but the Redskins do have solid depth. |
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
The Bengals' defense is a mess right now...worse than ours. They've already benched Taylor Mays at one safety spot, are relying on Terrence Newman and Nate Clements (not sure you can possibly have two bigger has-beens) at the CB positions, and are waiting for their rookie Kirkpatrick to get healthy. Their front-7 is equally as banged up and devoid of real talent. I think our offense will have its way against Cinci.
|
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
AJ green and Dalton scary me in this game.
|
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
If our offense keeps it up, I think we score 25+ points again. In most cases, that SHOULD be enough.
|
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
I like that we won't have to contend with crowd noise on offense. The last two games the snap has been dependent on Chris Chester tapping Will Montgomery, a very obvious motion, when RGIII is ready for the snap. The defense knows when the snap is coming and they have gotten the jump on us many times. Because of this, I think our running game will be a huge factor and take a lot of pressure off our passing attack, which has carried us the past two weeks.
|
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
all i want for christmas is a D that can cover one guy effectively. on the plus side, our offense looks good, but outside of garcon and maybe robinson, we need more from the pass catchers. they've been disappointing.
|
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
I think we win 34-28 in another shootout..
AJ Green will be amazing, and RG 3 will have an outstanding game. |

Good observation and welcome to the WP!! I noticed that also, some of the defenders were almost getting a running start at the snap!! |
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
I'm going to step out on a limb and say this is a definition game for the Redskins. The Saints was a great win and the Rams was a bad loss for a few reasons.. Holding a 21-6 lead, we had them basically out of that game and let them back it. We got sloppy in effort and technique on both sides of the ball. We aren't supremely talented enough to overcome that type of effort.
I think Sunday we come out and throttle the Bengals. They have struggled badly on defense and while Dalton to Green has been a nice combo, I'm not overly impressed by the balance of their offense. We could be able to control their offense if we make them one dimensional. I'm stepping out there and saying Redskins 27-10 in a blowout. |
Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down
Good news all around.
Josh Wilson has been cleared to resume practice from his concussion and should play. Fred Davis was tested for a concussion and passed. He's playing too. Garcon was limited in practice yesterday but is practicing. Last week he didn't practice at all until Thursday and was "very limited". He's getting better but will still be a game-time decision. |

I saw the ranks on Redskins Nation this morning and we're 4th in offense and 28th in defense. The Bengals are 30th in defense and 18th on offense. |
